Villains Survival Guide

Pain makes you stronger. A quote from someone who clearly never experienced true pain. I have. I thought I finally got away from my past, and yet it seems I'm fated to die at the hands of my own creation. An author reincarnated as the villain of his own story. It's a race against time to see if he can survive in this world that seems so desperate to kill him. *** Note: There are multiple love interests however I haven't decided on if I'm going the harem route or not. The beginning might seem like TAP or TNE because its inspired by them but it changes dw.

Beep-!

Beep-!

The sound of my alarm going off woke me from the nap I was taking.

As I stirred awake I suddenly remembered something I had completely forgotten.

I was supposed to go to Valeria's office this morning.

I didn't want to face her so instead I went back to sleep.

However, now there were no more excuses left.

I reluctantly got out of bed and took a quick shower before getting dressed.

Once I finished dressing I took the elevator down and began heading to the academy.

As I was walking, I noticed a familiar head of black hair silently gazing at the birds fiddling in the tree branches.

Hmmm...

It was about time he began getting motivated I suppose.

And yet he doesn't seem to be motivated at all.

This could become an enormous problem...

Swiftly making a decision, I began dragging my feet over to the bench where the black-haired boy sat.

"Luke," I called out getting his attention.

He jumped a little at my sudden appearance and gave me a questioning look.

"Umm, what do you need? Do you need help with something?" He asked, looking up at me.

"Yeah, I do. I'm trying to understand what it is that makes you think you have the right to stay in this school." I said coolly, a touch of anger coating my harsh words.

"Huh?!" He gasped in surprise.

I narrowed my eyes at him as I stared at him intently, daring him to speak.

"Wha- What do you mean?" he stuttered as his fish eyes gaped at me as if I had slapped him.

'Ooooh, Lukey boy I wish I could slap you so hard so I didn't have to go through all this, I mean seriously get a grip man.'

"Are you serious? You really don't know, or are you just pretending to be ignorant because you are being sneaky." I said slowly with an even tone.

His eyes widened in shock and he quickly shook his head.

"No, I am not pretending to be ignorant. I truly do not know what you are talking about. I have been doing everything I can to keep up with everyone else. It isn't my fault if I don't understand what is going on." He said nervously.

"So, you admit to being lazy then? Is that it?" I asked with a hint of amusement in my voice.

"I- I'm not lazy!" He exclaimed hotly.

"You're not? Then why do you take the easy way out by always sleeping through class?" I asked bluntly.

'I mean just because you have protagonist syndrome doesn't mean you should be able to sleep through class and magically know everything.'

"I wasn't doing that on purpose I'm just tired!!" He protested angrily.

He sure doesn't look tired to me...

Hmm, maybe he always looked tired.

I also slept through classes. Does that make me lazy?

Ummm, no.

Just because I said so.

Well, I guess I'd better get to the part where I say something that will cause him to grow up and become who he's supposed to be.

Uhhh, what do I say though?

Ahh, I'll start off by telling him how he should be more responsible.

That should work.

"You need to stop acting like a child and act like an adult. This is a school for Mages and you are one of us. You cannot afford to sleep in class. If you want to survive here, you need to put in some effort. If you do not, you will fail and end up dead." I stated bluntly.

"Who do you think you are to be spouting that crap, it's like the pot calling the kettle black!!" he cried out, his voice full of outrage.

His anger was a red flag to me that he was starting to lose control.

He has probably lost a lot of sleep over this, I'm glad to see he has a little spine after all.

This could turn out really bad if I keep pushing him...

'Maybe I should just leave.'

Nah, that would make all of this a waste of time.

Besides, it would only give him more time to brood about things.

I needed to get him motivated not cause him to become depressed.

'Ahhhh, think Isaac, Think!'

'How do I make Luke motivated to become a hero?'

"Luke Villin, I formally challenge you to a duel," I stated matter of factly, my tone leaving no room for rejection.

"What?" his jaw dropped slightly as he gaped at me wide-eyed.

"You heard me, I challenge you to a duel," I said again, a fire burning in my eyes.

"Why would I accept such a thing?"

"Well, for one your not a coward. Or am I mistaken?"

Luke's gaze seemed to harden at my statement.

The old Mcfly always works.

"And second, because obviously, you'll receive a reward if you win," I stated as if it was obvious.

"What reward?"

"If you win in the duel, I will keep Aaron off your back. You'll never hear another peep out of him, however, if I win, you will work hard to become the top of the class. Besides, you can't even reject a duel." I said with a deadpan expression.

"..."

"I can't?" he asked dazedly.

"Uh… nope."

Sighing dejectedly, he agreed half-heartedly.

Perfect!

Operation Beat the shit out of Luke was ago.

After all, if you can't figure out how to solve a problem, just use violence!

Arriving in front of Valeria's office, I began tapping my foot against the cold marble flooring in nervousness.

I was currently in the Professor's wing of the academy where each of their personal offices was.

My feet echoed off the cold linoleum tiles, finally gathering my courage I knocked thrice on the hollowed wood door.

"Come," a voice rang through the hallway, making my heart skip a beat as I opened the large wooden door.

As soon as I entered her office, I could see Valeria sitting behind the desk, reading over some papers while sipping tea from a cup. Her long dirty-blonde hair fell down to cover most of her face but there were still hints of her beautiful features visible. She had deep sapphire-colored eyes which matched the color of the suit she wore. It was simple yet elegant, the material looked like silk.

Her pale skin glowed under the sunlight shining in from the window behind her.

"Isaac." rang her icy voice, causing me to flinch.

"I apologize for my tardiness." I hastily replied, hoping to avoid whatever scolding she had in mind.

Silence greeted my apology.

For a minute only the sound of pen scratching could be heard as neither of us spoke.

Finally, after what felt like hours, Valeria broke the silence. "You have caused trouble again..." She sighed tiredly, putting the paper down on her desk before looking up at me with those piercing ice-blue eyes of hers.

"Sorry." I apologized once more.

She stared at me silently for a few moments longer then let out a sigh.

"Sit down." she motioned towards a chair beside the table next to her.

I took a seat, feeling slightly relieved by Valeria's leniency despite her seemingly knowing all of my activities.

"Explain yourself," she said sternly.

I nodded quietly, before recounting everything that had happened in the past day.

I decided that honesty was the best route to go down when it came to Valeria as it seemed she had eyes everywhere and knew exactly what I was doing.

Damn witch.

However, Rule #6 states that if you need something then use all means necessary to achieve it.

And Valeria held the key to my staying in the academy.

Therefore, since it seemed as if she already knew everything anyway, I might as well earn some brownie points by telling the truth.

If anything I might even be able to get useful things out of this little relationship of ours.

So I told her of what happened with Vera and with Luke.

The duel was to be held 3 days hence as I wanted to give Luke time to get ready since I didn't want just to beat the shit out of him, I actually wanted him to grow up so I didn't have to shoulder the burden of this accursed novel.

~' You wrote it dipshit!'~

~' So fucking what? it still sucks'~

~' Do you realize what you're saying?'~

~' Just shut up already.'~

As I lamented mentally over my poor writing skills, I watched as Valeria's icy expression finally shifted once I finished recounting the events of the past day.

It wasn't until she reached the part where I got into a fight with Luke did she speak.

"...and so?" She asked flatly.

"What does that mean?" I questioned.

"Why would you challenge a fellow classmate?" she retorted angrily.

I shrugged helplessly. "Because I wanted to?"

After all, there were some things that needed to remain a secret.

"Haaaaah..." she sighed helplessly, leaning back in her seat.

"Seriously, the trouble I have to go through for you..." she muttered as she picked up her phone and began typing on it.

I waited silently, wondering what it was that she was doing.

Soon enough though, she looked up at me.

"I've dealt with any issues that may have arisen due to your fight with that boy, what was his name...?" she said, falling into thought.

"Dwight," I murmured, not willing to look her in the eyes.

"Ah, yes. Anyways leaving that matter aside, there is still the matter of your duel." her gaze intensified as she stared at me.

"Yes?" I responded cautiously.

"You will begin training with me immediately after school. I expect you to be at top performance do you understand?"

"I do."

She nodded curtly before standing up and walking towards the door.

"Wait!" I shouted, quickly rising myself.

"Yes?"

"Um, can I ask why exactly we need to train right away?" I inquired cautiously.

"No questions, no excuses. You must improve yourself or else I cannot allow you to continue attending this school," she replied sharply.

My heart sank at those words.

"Fine..." I mumbled unhappily.

It seems Operation training with the witch was ago.
