Villain Support Agency ( On Hiatus )

In a world where superhumans and villains clash with epic regularity, a secret organization exists, hidden in the shadows, known only as the Villain Support Agency (VSA). Enter the Villain Support Agency, a clandestine organization that offers guidance, training, and resources to aspiring supervillains. Led by the enigmatic council, the agency is a melting pot of diverse and unconventional individuals with extraordinary abilities, all united by their shared desire to challenge the status quo. Frustrated with the seemingly untouchable heroes and their self-righteousness, the protagonist of the story, Carl, joined the agency as a handler, a person that helps the villains out and does his best to do what is best for them. As Carl becomes acquainted with this new underworld, he encounters many characters, each with their own motivations and ambitions. From the mischievous trickster to the mastermind strategist, Carl learns that villains are not just one-dimensional evildoers but complex individuals driven by their own desires and dreams. One faithful day, Carl gains an opportunity to not only become better at his job and rise through the ranks of the organization quickly, but to become much more than a simple 'handler'.

Recruitment Game: A Villain's Pride and a Handler's Persuasion

She's so easy to be fooled sometimes. I learned from the couple of days the system has been with me that I can easily manipulate her into doing certain things just by acting on her pride. As the system that was created by some 'god' scientists of the agency, she seems to be incredibly prideful, so simply mentioning how she doesn't have to help with some things because she simply can't do it is usually enough to make her do so.

Just like now.

'Thank you very much system, you truly can be useful sometimes.' I said with a smug face as the side of my head suddenly started hurting, mostly because of the screaming from the system that was being heard from my left ear for some reason. Usually, her voice is heard in my head, but this time, I have no idea how, or what she did, but it was heard from the left, making it quite painful.

'Alright, alright, you're useful, just stop shouting for heaven's sake, you're going to make me lose my hearing.' I said with a sigh before finally thanking god as the screaming stopped and I was able to focus on the information that the system had so generously provided me.

'Born in blah blah blah, went to school, damn, this really shows a lot, I'll have to skim some parts.'

Luckily, I was quite the fast reader, so I was able to skim through the first 2 pages, which showed her early life and had little useful information, outside some phobias and dreams she had back then, as well as some school crushes, that part was weird, to be honest.

From the third page onward, it was about the recent years. All the things she had done, several jobs she had taken, as well as her current job, interesting, a villain that was graded as a C-grade was working as a waitress?

That's a bit cliché, well, that, a barmaid, as well as exotic dancers were the clichés.

She's actually not even far away from me, if I wanted to, I could drive over to her, it would take me about 14 hours, but I could do it for sure. Of course, I had no interest in meeting a villain that could potentially harm me face-to-face and preferred to do it over a call.

Hmm, let's see what else we got.

Alright, her se**al history is a bit too much.

'Was this really necessary?'

[ What, it just shows her previous partners, nothing else. ]

'Yo, you even, ohh come one, why give me this information as well, why do I need to know her weak spots, likes, and dislikes in bed and fetishes?!'

[ Well I thought since Carla was so generous, you might wanna, you know, try your luck? ]

'Yeah, I'm skipping this part.'

[ I know you read some of it though, hehe. ]

'Tch, annoying perv.'

I continued reading, and finally, on page six, what I wanted the most was written, as well as the four pages after that. They explained more about her, what she hoped to achieve, what she feared the most, what she hoped to become in the future, and more.

My mouth curled upwards as I read more and more of the information.

'With this, I'm certain I can get her, no way I'll fail recruiting her, I just need to be patient with her and slowly coax her over.'

I waited a bit after finishing the report. I checked the place where she works, as well as her social media, and found out she was working right now. I needed to wait a bit before calling her, so I turned on my show and started watching it.

After some time, I turned the show off as I disliked watching too much as it usually starts to bore me, no matter how good it is, and turned on a game. I played slightly longer than 1 hour before my alarm snapped me out of my daze.

She was finishing work now, so I just needed to wait slightly longer before calling her. I closed the game and started to work. I logged in to our network and gained control over some cameras around the café she worked at. That would allow me to see exactly when she leaves, as well as her reaction during the conversation.

Lo and behold, mere 2 minutes after I had done that, I was able to see a tall, black-haired girl wearing baggy clothes leave the café and make her way south, which was where her apartment was.

I immediately called her, using the agency's app that created fake numbers for such situations. After all, I wasn't going to use my own phone and allow her to have my number and potentially allow her to track me.

The phone rang a couple of times, and I could see her reaching into her bag and taking her phone out before looking at it with a confused expression. She didn't pick up, she just silenced the call and placed it back in her bag.

Figures, I wouldn't answer a call from an unknown number either.

I called her again, and then again, each time from a different number, which made her even more confused, as well as vigilant as I could see her look around herself. Yeah, good call, somebody is watching you, but not in the way you think.

I then proceeded to send her a text.

'Hey, it's Jack, I need to talk to you, calling you from this number in a min.'

Isabella glanced at the text as a frown appeared on her face. How could it not, getting a text from an ex you haven't heard in 2 months is weird, especially if the text all but confirms that the previous 3 calls were from him.

A minute later, just as I promised, I called using the same number I had used to send the text. This time, she answered, but she did take some time to think about it, and she did sigh before doing so.

"Why the hell are you calling me, I told you that we're done and to never contact me again."

"Apologies Miss Conti, but this was the only way I could reach you, you weren't answering my calls, so I took the liberty of using poor Jack's name in order for you to answer this call," I said, calmly as I stared at her face which turned serious.

"And Jack?"

"No idea, I just used his name, as for his health, whereabouts, current events happening in his life, well, I know as much as you do, nothing more, I could find out if you want me to."

Isabella chuckled as she heard my last words, but it wasn't a chuckle that one made when they heard something funny, oh no, this one was a chuckle of a person that was slightly pissed off.

"Who are you, depending on your answer, I may decide to let this slide, or make sure you never breathe again."

"So hostile, so serious, I assure you miss Conti, there is nothing to worry about, I am-"

"Worry, who said I am worried about anything, you little bastard?" Isabella's cold voice cut me off from finishing my sentence as she walked calmly toward her apartment.

"I see, well, even though I have already done so, I do apologize for the way I have contacted you, but once again, this was the only way I was sure you would answer."

"You seem to know awfully lot about me."

"Not necessarily, just a bit."

"Well, this has been a nice chit-chat, but I'm afraid I will have to cut this short, so go-"

"I am a handler, from the VSA, you have already been contacted by some of my colleagues in the past."

"It's you guys, I thought I told you I wasn't planning on joining any organization, so why are you still bothering me?" Isabella's voice lost some of the coldness, but not too much. It was evident that she was still pissed off about me calling her like this.

"I want to recruit you, I want you to be a villain working for the VSA."

Isabella sighed as she heard my sentence and even massaged her forehead for a bit. I smirked upon seeing her do that as I did expect her to do something like this.

"For the last time, I am not interested, now goodbye, and don't-"

"I can help you find the cure."

Isabella suddenly stopped walking.

Her hand that held the phone shook slightly as her eyes slightly widened before they narrowed in slight anger.

"Who are you?"

"A handler."

"And how does a handler know about that?"

"I know a lot of things Miss Isabella, and if you join the agency, I promise you, we will do everything we can to help you."

"A lot of people promised me a lot of things, and guess what, they're usually full of crap," Isabella said with a scowl as I sighed slightly, this girl was truly difficult to be persuaded.

"Listen, I will-" Before I finished my sentence, Isabella ended the call and suddenly threw her phone at the wall next to her before walking away, leaving me staring at the screen at a loss for words.
