Chapter 1 My Fate - Death

"So this is how my life is going to end?" - Thought Kane.

His mind had already begun to settle and only the pain of the gunshot kept him from closing his eyes forever. Fate was not favoring him. At the moment of his death, Kane began to fully contemplate his entire life. Fate had never been favorable to him. A horrible childhood. A mother who died from a drug overdose, a father who was always drunk and constantly beating him. The bullying by the other kids on him. All the cruelty the world showed to him forced him to grow up early. To keep from starving to death, he had to start stealing. Many times he was caught, and instead of calling the police, they just beat him up and threw him out on the street like a puppy. But over time, he learned to use his childish appearance and developed good communication skills to deceive people, which made stealing much easier. Kane's greed became greater and greater. In the beginning, he only stole small amounts of money and not very valuable things, but as he grew, he wanted to earn more and more.

One day, when Kane was already 11 years old, he met a wealthy-looking man in the street. A new suit, a watch on his hands. It was obvious he was some kind of big shot. Unintentionally bumping into him, Kane apologized and quickly walked away from him. The man, as he continued walking, reached into his pocket and saw that the phone and cash that was in there had been stolen. After making the call, he smirked and moved on. That same evening, Kane was brought to him. It turned out this man was the head of a crime ring operating in our town. Kane thought his life would end there when this man presented a gun to his head. But even to his surprise, Kane had no fear of death. He didn't care. Perhaps death was even better than such a life. This surprised the head and he decided to raise this boy as one of his agents.

Days, weeks, months of training began. Kane worked at the limit of his body. It was a process of constant physical and mental training.

"Yes, those were difficult days, but they were the turning points in my life. Maybe without them, I'd still be a petty thief." - With a small smile, Kane recalled his past.

The assignments Kane had to perform were of all sorts. Murder, robbery, drug trafficking. But for all these jobs Kane amassed a fortune he could not have spent in three lifetimes.

Twenty years of his life were spent working for this organization. He was the man with the highest ratio of completed missions. Completing all of his missions alone, he was never able to be caught by the police or the government security service. He was even given the title "The Shadow" in the underworld.

Today was to be his last day with the organization. After completing his last order, Kane went to his boss's office to report the completion of the order. The boss stood up from his chair and shook hands with Kane, after a short conversation Kane turned around and headed for the door. At that moment there was a strange sense of danger in his mind. But Kane had never been let down by that feeling. Suddenly he felt a sharp pain in his back.

- Did you really think we would let you go with that kind of money? Your head is worth a huge fortune. You've hurt too many powerful people. It's nothing personal, it's just business. - Smirking, the boss said.

"What a bastard... If I could, I would personally destroy this whole organization. I wish I could get my revenge in this life... Death? I wonder what will happen after?" - That was Kane's last thought before Death took him into his arms.
