(XX) A massacre

'These suckers, I've done it this time!' Ruby grimaced as he paced briskly to the door before breaking into a sprint.

He smashed the door ajar with his feet as it snapped open and slammed into the house.

This place meant a lot to Ruby. After all, it was the same house he and his family had lived in for years.

But it was still the same house where his mother and sister were massacred.

The little girls stared at Ruby with complex emotions. because she could feel the anger radiating from him.

"Who goes there?" A loud voice reverberated from the room.

Ruby didn't answer as he strolled into the house. His face was void of any expression, but if one stood close to him, one would feel the profound killing intent.

"Who are you?" A man with spiky hair, standing over 7 feet in a leather jacket and leather jeans, His muscles were defined to the point they throbbed underneath his outfits.

"I said, who are you?" The man bellowed again.

"I'm your father." The causal answer from Ruby made the man's eyes bloodshot as veins started throbbing in his head.

"It seems you're looking for an early death, but don't worry, that's my specializat–"

"Shut up, you punk!" Ruby's green eyes shimmered fiercely as he activated [Daze]

The man suddenly lost the color in his eyes as his pupils turned pale white.

For a moment, the man felt he was dead because he didn't know where he was, who he was, or what his name was.

Ruby scowled as he yanked out the gun from early and pressed the muzzle on the defenseless man's skull.

BOOOOOOOM

The gun resonated, and the sharp bullet pierced the man's skull, burst out through the other side, and his wobbly legs collapsed to the ground.

The man's skull gushed out blood and smeared the dirty floor.

Ruby glared at the man with an indifferent expression as he fired at the man's skull multiple times before wacking him to the side with his legs.

The bullet's noise attracted the rest of the men inside the house, and they all scrambled to the living room.

Ruby glanced at the men who wore the same clothes similar to the first man he'd killed.

For some reason, all the men had spiky hair, prompting Ruby to think they were a gang.

"Can you guys do me a favor and get the hell out of here?!" Ruby yelled as his grasp on the gun tightened.

He wanted to avoid spilling blood as much as he could here. If it was outside, he wouldn't even be speaking with them right now.

This place meant so much to him that he didn't want to taint it with some useless humans.

"You seem to have confidence in yourself." A voice resonated from behind the men.

The towering men moved to the side as a man standing over 8 feet tall, with a large head, bulging muscles, and adorned in a tight black tuxedo that would rip off if he made any unnecessary movement.

Ruby could only describe the man as kingpin from the Spider-Man movie from years back.

'Jav, ascertain this man. He seems to be the leader.'

[Affirmative. He is the leader of this little gang, and for starters, don't go easy on him]

Ruby veered his focus back on the man again. "You must be the leader of this little gang."

The man's nose flared a bit when he heard the little part. But he regained his composure and acted like the big man here.

"Our gang is by no means little. This is just a subsidiary."

"A subsidiary that makes a little child beg on the street and, to top it off, molests her."

'I'm the one who has mental issues here, but it seems like these guys are far crazier than I thought.'

Ruby–Honestly– couldn't understand this guy's pattern of reasoning.

"That little bitch!!" The man's gentlemanly composure finally crumpled to the ground as his massive muscles bulged and the ripping sound of his tuxedo reverberated before it ripped into shards.

"Wait! Before you do anything stupid, you see those pics there." Ruby used his gun to aim at the pictures of three people with green eyes.

Foolishly enough, all the men averted their gazes to the wall.

'Fools!'

Pressing the trigger, the sound of a gunshot echoed as five men fell to the ground.

All of them headshots.

Realizing it was a distraction, all the men lounged at Ruby.

The room glowed with powerful radiation as all the men activated their superpowers, which illuminated the room.

The leader–who was the closest to Ruby– used his large hands to wack Ruby, but the latter teleported out of the way in a blink.

"Teleportation?" The man was shocked a bit because of how rare the teleportation superpower was.

Ruby appeared at the other side of the room, where one of the men was using flame power.

The man opened his palm as he shut out a blue fire blast toward Ruby.

As the fireball edged closer to Ruby, he vanished from the spot.

"Eh? Where did he go?" the man couldn't finish his sentence as his head rolled out of his head and a jet of blood gushed out, smearing Ruby's face who was behind him with his twin trusty daggers.

'See you in hell.' Ruby shoved the headless body to the ground when he felt an attack from behind.

He spun to the front and haul one of the twin daggers at the man bolting towards him from behind.

The dagger pierced the man's left eye and prod out of his skull, spurting out drops of blood to the ground.

Ruby took a large stride towards the man as he grabbed the dagger stuck to the man's eyes and started wiggling it left t right inside his eye socket.

"Aghhh!" The man screeched in pain as he tried to grab the dagger. However, Ruby would swat his hands away each time.

For some reason, the reek of blood and the wails of pain sent jolts of excitement through his body.

'The doctors were right. I've really lost some screws.'

catching a glimpse of the state one of their men was in, the men all lounged at Ruby again.

Ruby spun the man to face the hungry pack of wolves as he shoved him towards the men.

The men opened their hands to grab their blinded companion. However, they noticed 3 flickering, red ball-like orbs that blink rapidly attached to the man.

"What the-"

BOOOOOOOM

The men couldn't finish their sentence as they erupted into bloody, gooey chunks of flesh that spewed through the room in a shower of flesh and blood.

'This is fun!'

The wrench of blood reeked all over the room as blood smeared the walls and pictures. Twitching human limbs could be seen on the ground, which was now drenched in a puddle of blood and chunks of flesh.

Ruby gazed at the room with a crestfallen expression. He never wanted to see this room look like this again after that night.

He had cleaned and mopped this house clean after the massacre that night, but it seems like he'd have to mop it again.

The number of men had dwindled in a flash, leaving only about 10 people left.

The leader was among the remaining people. He stared at the twitching limbs of his men on the ground with a gaze void of emotions.

Ruby stared at the men with a nonchalant gaze before plopping onto the blood-smeared white couch as he shut his eyes to take a small nap.

"Is he dead?" One of the survivors asked with a zing of excitement visible in his voice.

"I'm not dead! Just taking a quick nap!" Ruby yelled back.

'Who takes a nap in the middle of a fight?'

All the men thought at the same time, except the leader, who still had his gaze on the limbs.

A dribble of saliva trickled out of his mouth as he stared hungrily at the limbs, then he licked his lips, and the next moment, he plunged to the ground and grabbed a pulsing heart belonging to one of his men.

He brought it towards his mouth as he started gorging on it crazily. Blood drooled out of his mouth as his eyes turned ominous shades of red.

Glimpsing at the gory sight, the men's hearts palpitated as they stepped back from their leader, who was now drenched in blood drooling out of his mouth.

Ruby snapped one of his eyes as he stared at the scene unfolding in front of him.

'His superpower is cannibalism?'

Ruby thought back to Javis' words.

"Don't go easy on him."

Ruby had faced some superheroes with cannibalism powers, and they proved to be some of the toughest he had faced.

The leader started taking stride after stride to his men, who were rooted in spot with their legs wobbly and yellowish liquid leaking from their trousers.

'Is this our leader? No, it couldn't be! It must be that monster!' The men thought and decided to dart to the door. However, the leader had already leaped into the air as he pounced on them with sharp, elongated claw-like nails.

*Screech!

"AGHHHHHHHH!"

They shriek as their leader slashes them into tiny shreds of flesh. After what seemed like a minute, the leader gorged and gobbled down all the meat before averting his gaze to Ruby.

He started pacing towards Ruby in small strides; his massive body started bloating up as he turned into a mountain of meat. His arms and legs were now 20 times thicker than Ruby's entire self.

He reached the couch and raised his hand to the air as his razor-sharp nails lengthened, and he slashed down at Ruby.
