CHAPTER 61: Shock But Of Admiration

Willow gritted her teeth, she knew they had been coveting Azure Dragon since the beginning.

But the process to receive it was a dreadful one that the Empire banned it from being used no matter who.

They will annihilate the people who would do it and the current host will be imprisoned their whole life until they are to give birth or to have a descendant that hosts the mythological beast.

"I can simply tell them that on our training, we didn't expect to encounter so much demonic beasts that while your saving me, you were greatly injured that we had no choice but to do the passing of the mythological beast."

Esther was seriously looking like she had already won and was thinking of how her life will make a beautiful turn once this is over.

Willow didn't reply but she had been cursing in her mind, how twisted the mother and daughter were.

Thinking only of themselves and not the Empire.

Were they not aware that passing the mythological beast will also affect the beast itself?

That it won't have the strength it once had for about ten to fifteen years?

Are they planning on making such stupid move when the darkness was just around the corner?

She was hit hard that she ended up hitting a tree hard enough she can barely move already.

She laughed bitterly, 'This is for trying to trust once again.'

She couldn't help but to remember the events of 8 years ago.

Where they were all betrayed by someone whom they have entrusted their lives with.

"Don't make it too fatal and make sure the wounds would seem like they came from the beasts," Esther called out to the people she and her mother hired.

Just as they approached her, they heard a sigh.

The forest wasn't that quiet or were the lot of them.

But each and everyone still heard a sigh.

"I really hated complicated matters the most."

A voice she was very much familiar with was heard and right there and then someone jumped down from the tree and stood tall in front of her.

The back of a person that one would feel at ease once seeing.

A tear dropped from her eyes the moment she saw her.

"Close your eyes Willow."

Without delay she did as she was asked.

Blood will surely flow but a blood of a human was different than the blood of a beast.

And Willow had been scared of too much blood after the event of 8 years ago.

She knew why she was told to close her eyes.

'You really are too kind that it is painful that I couldn't change my attitude,' she thought the moment she closed her eyes.

She can hear those people shouting words of anger towards the person who suddenly came.

She can hear shouts and the sounds of running.

Even though she knew she was scared of the sight of blood, she still ended up opening her eyes very slowly, prepared to see a bloody scene.

But because she was completely curious of how Saphira would move in this space where magic could not be used she still took courage to do it.

Yet instead of the bloody scene she was dreading to see, what she saw was something else.

It wasn't as dreadful as she had imagined it would be but instead it was...

Her eyes went wide not of shock but of admiration.

The blood that rained from the wounds she had inflicted looked like they were but the rain and instead of making the scene gory, it was actually magnifiscent.

Saphira looks like she was dancing in the rain as her sword's blade reflected the sunlight.

A glimmering sight within that forest.

Saphira noticed that she was watching, "Didn't I tell you to close your eyes?"

"No... I..."

Willow wanted to say that it was fine because she wasn't really looking at the blood and bodies but instead at Saphira herself.

But before she continued she stopped and closed her eyes once again.

Yet her heart thumping loudly in her chest couldn't deny the fact that Saphira truly was magnificent in her sword fighting.

Without relying on magical ability she was splendidly fighting off all those people like it was nothing.

Truth be told the forty something knights were nothing to Saphira, simply put she could have finished it faster but because she was checking them as well, she needed to slow down a bit.

A frown appeared on her face seeing as these people were from Cerulean Kingdom, the past kingdom that Virescent Family reign's over before the Empire was created.

And she remembered that Willow's step mother was the first princess of that kingdom.

'Though wasn't it already obvious?' she thought.

A sigh escaped her lips as she slit the throat of the last one before wiping the blood that splashed on her lips.

'Gross,' she thought.

But when Willow realized that it was over, she once again opened her eyes and saw that the blood wasn't wiped out but was instead smeared on Saphira's lips.

Together with her bloody white training shirt and gray training pants.

Her sword that was dripping with blood.

All of which matched perfectly her red orange colored hair and eyes.

Her snow white skin that emphasized the reds in her.

Everything didn't look gore or disgusting but instead, she looked like she was a goddess of some sort.

"Are you okay?" Saphira asked when she noticed that Willow was looking at her blankly.

Willow slowly nodded her head.

Saphira looked around her before once again wiping her lips, finally completely wiping off the blood.

"Woah, aren't you something? The disappointment festering in her heart was actually replaced by you with admiration. That's truly something, who would have thought that you can slowly change things with simply your actions and words. You truly are something, its becoming more fun to look forward in meeting you."
