The two smiled before clasping both hands together and allowed the light to encompass them.
Soon, only one person emerged from the light, brandishing a sword, shinier than normal swords used.
"Sorry to keep you waiting," she rushed and attacked the ones trying to attack him from another side.
She also looked up and seeing that they are faring well with those whom they can't stop from below here, she knew she didn't need to worry.
"I hope this won't be a very long fight," Jiro commented.
"I have given up once but that child showed me a whole load of things. Her tenacity and her kindness, if I give up again, I would rather my whole body shredded into pieces," Nathalia commented.
Jiro chuckled, "Harsh. But well, you can tell me all about it once we got those kids out of here."
"And you can tell me all about your journey as well," she replied.
The five above who were getting closer to the source of the light, also the door out of this place, fought less and less. Soon, they were only watching the two small figures fighting below.
"They are truly amazing," Drake couldn't help but comment.
Because at this moment, they couldn't even compare all the best sword masters in the human world to the two who are fighting below.
"They wouldn't have defeated Qirin and Vermilion Bird, if they were not superior than most," Hunter said.
He then glanced down at Saphira, who had already fallen unconscious.
Her wounds should have been grave but he could see light particles surrounding her wounds, healing it little by little.
It must have been Nathalia.
"But I wish they could get out of here as well," Stormie commented.
Everyone did not voice it out but they silently agreed.
Because it would really be sad if the two were to be imprisoned here all on their own once again.
"Though they will be fine," Nixon smiled.
They looked at him.
"Because they have one another now."
And when he said that, they were engulfed by a bright light and when they opened their eyes again, they were back to Saphira's home.
The sword he used to keep the opening was broken into pieces and the door was completely closed.
"Saphira!!!"
Different voices shouted when their surroundings returned to normal.
Hunter looked down at the person in his arms, she was peacefully sleeping while traces of light were still visible to her almost healed wounds.
"Saphira," Carmilla cried as she softly touched Saphira's cheek.
"She is just resting, mother. Nathalia left a few specks of light on her in order to heal the wounds she had sustained."
"Are you sure?" Vermilion's big round eyes looked at Hunter when he said those words.
"Are you sure she's fine? She has been there for two years!!!"
Vermilion Bird was in his small bird form.
"Calm down Vermilion, I can clearly see that she is indeed just resting," Archie spoke on behalf of Hunter.
He was also squatting down and checking on Saphira.
Asherton sighed in relief while he leaned on the wall.
Since the parents have crowded around Saphira, he was simply looking from the side.
Vermilion Bird sniffed.
Nathalia did explain to him that his strength was needed once a path was opened. The reason why she had pulled him out of Saphira just as she was about to be pulled towards the darkness.
Because it will be him who will connect them to her in such a vast world.
"You should probably rest inside her now. You know you can't stay out for any longer or you will dissipate," Qirin said on the side, he was in his child form like the others.
Only Vermilion Bird remained in his small bird form.
All inborn beasts could stay outside of their hosts as long as they are close by.
They didn't need to recover their energies inside all the time.
But Saphira and Vermilion Bird stayed away from one another. More like, they stayed in two different worlds all this time that Vermilion Bird would have had a lot of difficulties.
If he was not a mythological beast, he would have dissipated in just six months. It was commendable that he stayed strong for two whole years.
And for him to sustain himself and even support the others in keeping the path open while pulling out the six of them, was truly a fit no other beast has ever done.
"No one will pull you out of her now," Hunter spoke.
He knew how important Vermilion Bird is to Saphira, and he together with the rest witnessed the way Vermilion Bird's body would turn transparent when he reached the one-and-a-half-year mark of separation from Saphira.
He can tell that the look of indignance in Vermilion's face when Qirin suggested he rest inside was all because he was pulled out of her with him being unable to do anything.
Vermilion Bird looked at Hunter intently.
"No one will take her away from us, ever again," Hunter said, looking straight at Vermilion's eyes.
It was only then that Vermilion Bird finally went inside Saphira.
The moment he felt the warmth of the space he had been residing in for so long, his eyes slowly closed.
But not until he looked towards the space where Lily's egg was once in.
Now there was nothing.
"Her clothes were in tatters," Carmilla commented.
They were all in Saphira's room now.
She was helped in changing and Carmilla saw that all her wounds had healed and even her breathing was normal. She was truly just sleeping now.
"She fought in a place where we would never be able to think of, not even in our wildest dreams, for two years," Archie was caressing Saphira's face.
The devastation both he and Carmilla felt when Saphira was pulled down in that unknown world, he can never describe it.
Carmilla was holding Saphira's hand.
"Are you saying that it was a world filled with nothing but darkness and demonic beasts?" Asherton was the one asking Hunter and the rest of the world they went into.
He, together with the other heads and even Reginald is in a meeting room in the palace. The five were called there.
"The moment we descended we were prepared to fight with demonic beasts since Nathalia did say that we will face them. But no one could have prepared us for such a place where we were surrounded by an unending number of demonic beasts."
"Which means, such a world exists and those who appear in our world came from that place. And for it to be unending, it meant that our battles will continue no matter how many dark lords we defeat."
Reginald massaged his temple after his own comment.
"Then peace will never come."
Hunter and the rest looked at one another, before Hunter spoke up once again.
"Isn't that why we will keep on fighting? To become stronger, we needed demonic beasts to train. It was as if a balance had been placed all along. Once a dark lord rises, a person who can use the light ability will appear as well. Since we have defeated a dark lord in our time, then those ahead of us can worry about it as well."
"Because this is our present and we will look forward to our own future. We can give the future a support by not allowing the demonic beasts to pile up but we don't need to put too much effort in it," Drake followed.
Call them selfish but they are not heroes, they've given up enough of their time for their own present and future.
So, those in the far future can worry for themselves.
Reginald chuckled, "You are right. I am thinking too much. Gideon's descendants can worry about that. We have done our part now."
Gideon's, who was also present, lips twitched upon hearing what his father just said.
'They are your descendants as well, why are you speaking as if I am not your son?'
"Aren't I the commander of the order of the seven myths? Why am I not here?"
All their eyes flew to the door where she stood.
As invigorated as ever.
As if she had never experienced the things she experienced in that world.
"Saphira!!"
Stormie and Willow run to her and jumped to give her a hug.
"Hey I am awake and have energy but that doesn't mean I can already carry the both of you," Saphira complained when all three of them ended up falling on the floor.
"Such actions in front of the king," Willow's grandfather, Ferdinand, shook his head.
The same with Stormie's father.
Reginald laughed, "No, it is truly a wonderful thing to see you up and alive."
"Oh, father, do you wish for me to be in bed for another few days?" Saphira joked as she stood up with the help of Hunter.
Nixon and Drake did the same for Stormie and Willow.
Hunter sharply glared at his father with Saphira's comment.
Reginald hid behind Asherton.
"I tell you, when it comes to that lady my son is too scary. Too scary I say," he whispered.
Asherton laughed.
A king who hides behind his subject in fear of his own son, what an amusing thing to see.
"I am glad you are fine now," Asherton then said to Saphira.
Saphira grinned, "I am sorry I worried you all a lot."
She shook her head in defeat, the tears her mother and father shed when she woke up a few minutes after their return. Truly she felt pain in her heart as well simply watching them cry. The three of them hugged one another while crying in relief.
"It is more than enough that you came back to us alive."
Asherton walked over and gave her a tight hug. Tears are threatening to fall from his eyes, Saphira was the same.
"We are happy as well," the other heads followed.
Saphira smiled at each of them before turning to her friends.
The reason she came here right after calming her parents down was because she wanted to see these five people.
"I guess we should step out for a bit," Asherton knowingly said.
Reginald went ahead followed by his subjects.
"I am happy to see you back," Gideon said to Saphira before following the others.
When there were only six of them left.
Tears just fell from her eyes, "I trusted all of you. All those times in that place, I trusted that you would come for me. So, I didn't give up until the very end."
She was simply crying at first but soon after, her cry turned loud.
Then louder and louder, causing Stormie and Willow to just cry with her after hugging her again.
"We are so happy you didn't give up!!!" Willow cried.
"We prayed every single day that we could get to you as fast as we could!!!" Stormie followed.
While they waited for the moment Nathalia said they should wait for.
All they could do was to continue training and praying that Saphira would hang on until then.
Even though Nathalia spoke of the fact that the moment may not come, they knew Saphira will be able to make a miracle.
And a miracle she did, the moment appeared and they finally got to go to her.
This time, all of them are eager to meet her.
The complete contrast of the eight year reunion they had after the tragic end of Raynisha and the rest.
