CHAPTER 330: A Person I Look Up To

"You wish to speak with us?"

Saphira was sitting by the lake all on her own, two days after they erected the final barrier.

She asked Lily to conceal herself as much as possible and ask for Gideon and Ridge's older sister, Lerissa.

"And... uhmmm.. princess?... lady?..."

Saphira turned to Lerissa with a laugh, "Please my name is fine. I may be a daughter of a duke but so were you. I may be the crown princess but I have not taken office yet. So please, you are an older sister for me, please just call me Saphira."

Lerissa took a deep breath.

When Lily appeared in front of her a while ago, it truly gave her a shock. And then when she asked for her to meet Saphira, she was even more shock seeing how secretive it seems to be.

"Then, why would you call for someone like me?"

Saphira blinked in surprise.

"Someone like you?" she asked.

She didn't expect to hear such words from Lerissa who became the young head of the potions making department.

"Why do you treat youself in such a way?" Saphira couldn't help but ask.

She can see it clearly, this person has no jealousy, nope she didn't even have greed. She was simply living doing what she wants.

Putting yourself down does not mean it was your darkness but now Saphira understands.

She felt no darkness from this person, she just felt that the light wasn't too bright.

Gideon has no darkness himself but his light was bright.

After she took in the power of the others, her light ability soar high up that she could actually see things clearly now.

If in the past, she could feel the darkness but sees it in a blur. This time she was clearly seeing everything.

And when she said everything, it means everything.

Lerissa smiled, "Just that, my existence is a small matter."

"How can you say that!!"

Before Saphira could speak, Gideon actually reacted first.

Saphira looked at Gideon in astonishment while Lerissa looked at him in shock.

"Ah... that is..."

Gideon took a deep breath, he kept hearing Lerissa speak of herself as someone insignificant and no matter how much he tells her not to feel that way. SHe just keeps on doing it.

This time it seems that he lost it as to actually snap like that.

He scratched the back of his head, "You are a wonderful person capable of creating the best of potions out there. Potions no other person could have ever thought of. And as someone who sees it, it doesn't sit right within me to hear you see yourself as an insignificant person."

Lerissa's amethyst colored eyes stared at him with shock but also brilliance.

As he could no longer take it, he cleared his throat and turned to Saphira only to see her looking at him with a teasing look.

He frowned, "D- Don't you think so?"

Saphira pursed her lips, stopping herself from grinning.

'It seems that my dear brother-in-law will have a lot of difficulties in the future in wooing my future sister-in-law.'

"The first prince is right sister Lerissa. All your potions gave most of us more time and strength to continue fighting, not even the already well known potions could do. Hearing you degrade yourself does not sit right with me either."

"Oh."

Lerissa was used in her own world.

She only started interacting with others when she saved Gideon from drowning. She was purely interacting with her family in the past.

But when Gideon started coming more frequently to the place she picks up herbs from, she found that interacting with the first prince wasn't as difficult as she thought it would be.

Other than that, she was focused on her creations that there is no time for her to be jealous to others or to even think other things.

"I was simply used to not thinking about anything else outside of my creation, so I... I don't mean to offend any of you."

Saphira waved both her hands, "No, no, you are not offending anyone at all. It just I feel bad seeing how an amazing person like you would actually not think that you are a great persnon."

Lerissa smiled, "Somehow I feel like I am speaking with Raynisha- I'm sorry."

Gideon and Saphira furrowed their brows at the same time.

No one had ever speak about Raynisha with such a melancholic tone after everything that happened.

"I know it is bad to bring her name up. I just couldn't help it. I am sorry. Raynisha is a person I look up to. Even though things went south for her, the her that I met was still the person I look up to no matter what."

Saphira smiled, "Can you tell me how you came to idolize her?"

"Am I allowed to do so?"

She looked at Gideon, Gideon raised one hand.

"There was never a decree that says, one must not speak of her."

"Oh, everyone was simply doing that so I presume. Anyway, as a child, I think both of you are aware of the fact that our lives were never easy. Being in the seven families."

Gideon and Saphira looked at one anotehr and nodded their heads.

"But Raynisha was different. As a child together with Chester..."

She paused but seeing no negative reaction from them, she continued.

"Both of them would visit me in my own laboratory from time to time. Raynisha is a curious one. She asks and wonders over everything. And every single time she learns something knew, she would thank me. People would find it boring but not once did she show it. No matter how much I blabber, she listens attentively."

There was a hint of nostalgia in her face as she speaks.

"Even though she became busy with all her training, she takes time to come visit me. I ask her why. If she just thinks that I am lonely then she didn't have to because I was not. And she answered 'I know you're not. I mean your eyes are alive more than when you chat with us whenever you are into your experiments'."
