CHAPTER 304: Be Happy

Nixon smiled, it was filled with relief and a tinge of sadness.

"I had been running away from my true feelings all this time. Both towards myself and towards you."

Stormie's eyes went wide.

"I thought I just didn't want to confuse you with my feelins when Felix's feelings was overwhelming enough already. But I was wrong, I was actually running away. Because if I did confess to you and you accepted it, will I be able to touch you without any rejection? If I were to touch you with that thin layer of water, then will you stay until the end without really feeling my warmth? So many thoughts that were locked up together with my reasons that in the end, I didn't even realize I had been running away all this time."

He was scared, that was the truth after he realized everything.

He was jeslous, yes.

He thought he was doing it for her even though he was jealous, but no. He wasn't.

He was running away, he didn't want to face it. He didn't want to realize that all along he was feeling disgusted towards himself that he was not worthy of her.

That he felt inferior even though he and Felix should be equal.

"I didn't want to be rejected and see you be happy with him and feel even more inferior that it might be because I was not pure."

Stormie could no longe rhold it in and cried.

He was confessing to her but his confession was filled with pain and suffering.

"Don't cry now," he said gently as he wiped her tears that streamed down her face.

"If you are to be happy with someone else, I know now that I will be fine. Because I was able to face myself already."

Stormie hiccuped, right now it was very obvious. Nixon was letting her go after confessing his feelings for her.

But she didn't want that.

"No!!"

Nixon was stunned when she suddenly grabbed his arms.

"Don't let me go!!!"

More tears came flowing out.

"Don't speak as if you are letting go of your feelings. I don't want that!!"

"Storm, calm down."

Nixon didn't know what to do as Stormie cried harder.

"Tell me!!!"

She looked at him with ehr tear streaked face.

"Tell me who am I to you. What am I to you?"

She was grabbing on to his shirt while she asked.

She sniffed, "Please don't let me go. I don't want to let you go as well."

Nixon was pleasantly surprised at this moment.

He had thought all along that Stormie has developed feelings for Felix already. Yet here she was crying as if on pain that he was about to let her go after confessing his feelings.

"Storm you-"

Stormie grabbed his collar before she pulled him down.

His eyes went wide when her lips landed on his.

Without ceremony, Stormie went for the kill and kissed him.

She has no experience but she tried, she moved her lips to deepen the abrupt kiss.

Nixon was the same, he had no experience whatsoever but he went along withhis instinct.

He wrapped his arm around her waist and his other hand at her nape.

No words at all.

Instead the both of them went into action.

As they say action speaks louder than words.

And at this moment, they felt that it was the one they needed the most.

To let them feel each other's warmth.

The warmth that has long been forgotten due to that layer of barrier for almost fifteen years.

And when they parted with both of them catching their breaths, a smile was on Stormie's lips while Nixon looked relieved.

When he realized that he had fear on women, he had thought he could never feel their warmth or have the chance to properly fall in love.

But with just this kiss, he was happy, he had thought it will take time before he could reach such a stage with Stormie.

Yet she proved him wrong, he can do it. He can touch her and show her his love.

"Don't let me go," Stormie repeated as she looked straight in his eyes.

"I will never let you go... for our lifetime."

"For our lifetime," she repeated before wrapping her hands in his waist adn hugging him tight.

Nixon returned her hug with a smile on his lips.

A smile that resembled the smile on Stormie's lips.

A smile of contentment, happiness and love.

When they returned, they were welcomed with a feast.

"When will be the wedding?" Ridge asked bobbing his eyebrows up and down.

"Wha-"

Instantly their faces turned red.

"Obviously, when Stormie found you she didn't give your location. Instead both of you took your time to return and looking at those contented look on your faces, isn't it obvious that something has developed between you two?" Ridge continued looking at the rest who agreed with either a nod or a smile.

After his words, the teasing begun.

Of course, they didn't look for these two, they simply understood that a talk between them has occured.

After the teasing and them having a feast, Saphira approached the two of them.

"You have overcome another hurdle and I could see that you have matured. But just as what Hunter and I knew, something both Willow and Drake understood as well. You do understand that having that person so close to you also means that your heart will be in an even more nervous state."

Both looked at one another before nodding their heads.

"Be stronger in order to protect one another. That is the only thing we can do because what we have here? What we have now? This is our own happiness we achieved through our own hardwork. And no one is supposed to disagree with it or to take it away. Be happy with the time we have, whether it will be short or not."

Her voice was gentle and kind. It was filled with her own care towards them.

"Thank you," Stormie replied before hugging her.

Nixon mouthed thanks and smiled at her.

The others have smiles on their faces as well.

Even without Willow and Drake taking that last step, it was obvious that their emotions for one another have increased. And that is why Saphira had included them in what she had talked about.

Saphira faced them all, "No matter what, all of us should be happy with our lives. And no one should take that away, no matter who."

"Be happy!!!" Felix cheered and raised his glass of beer.

The thers followed, except for Saphira who had long been used in drinking milk in exchange for beer.
