CHAPTER 281: I Can Still Go On

After calming down, they went and battle with Ardel but just as what was said, he was weaker as compared to Raynisha.

"Nixon," Hunter looked at Nixon.

Nixon nodded his head and together with Black Tortoise, used ice to suppress Ardel.

Willow followed using vines together with Azure Dragon.

White Tiger used metals to strengthen the suppression.

On the other hand, Hunter and Qirin fought against the Dark Lion.

Dark Lion might be as strong as two mythological beasts, Hunter and Qirin who became stronger was still able to fight against it, not allowing the Dark Lion to support Ardel at all.

Drake was the fore front of the attacks against Ardel.

While the others suppress him, Drake rushed forward to attack him.

Even with him still being able to move, with all the people fighting him, Ardel still ended up being pierced through by Drake's sword.

Feeling the piercing of his sword on Ardel's body, Drake gritted his teeth.

The flesh that the sword passed through, he felt like his heart was being ripepd apart as well.

'It was Saphira who killed Raynisha.'

This information popped up in his head as he pushed the sword deeper in Ardel's body.

Even though he knew that Ardel was already dead and this was just him being used by the dark lord, it still pained him greatly to actually pierce his sword on his very own brother's body.

Tears instantly welled up in his eyes.

"Sorry," he whispered before he twisted the sword and pulled it out.

Ardel was still prepared to attack even with the critical hit he received.

Drake once again clenched his teeth. But tears dropped from his eyes in the heart wrenching pain he was feeling now as he once again pierced Ardel's body with his sword. This time, he aimed at his heart.

His hand trembled and he closed his eyes when the one blade inside sprouted a number of blades causing it to expand out of Ardel's body.

This was an overboard attack if one were to see it.

But Drake was left with no choice, even with him piercing Ardel's heart, he can feel that Ardel can still attack.

With that he could only do this.

More tears dropped from his eyes as he retracted all the blades and pulled out the sword.

Ardel's body fall as his eyes closed.

He was dead.

Raynisha, who was fighting with Saphira and the others, has obvious wounds on her body.

When Ardel died, she turned to look at him abruptly and a sudden burst of miasma engulfed her.

This Miasma came out of nowhere.

Before Saphira or the rest could react, the Dark Phoenix disappeared and the Miasma dispersed.

Raynisha was gone.

Saphira clicked her tongue.

She was ready to fight it all out with Raynisha today but alas, she was unable to do it at all.

She cursed inwardly before she looked at the direction where Raynisha looked before she disappeared.

She saw Willow having her arms around Drake's shoulder while kneeling and Drake sitting on the ground with his hands covering his eyes.

Nixon was using his water while Hunter was waiting beside him. They are cleaning up Ardel's body and Hunter was prepared to allow it to stay under the ground until they are able to properly send him back home.

Saphira's eyes flickered as she thought of something biting on her lower lip before she lead the other three to their side.

Drake looked up when he felt them approaching, his face was stained with tears.

"You were younger..." he started looking at Saphira.

She blinked understanding what he meant, she was younger when she killed Raynisha with her own hands..

Another feeling rose in her heart, she opened her mouth and her eyes trembled looking at them. Emotions swirled within it.

In the end, she swallowed hard and shook her head, "I..."

*BOOM*

Before she could speak, another explosion came from another side.

Even though they have defeated Ardel and Raynisha escaped, there are still dark forces around them.

"Where is Zian?" Saphira asked Nixon.

"I have hidden him in an ice cage," he replied just as Ardel's body sunk down the ground.

Saphira gave it one last glance before turning to the rest.

"Can you still muster up enough energy for us to erect the barrier? The best way to help this land is to create the barrier and push away the weaker ones. With them becoming lesser in number we will be able to kill them all faster and save the remaining people if there are any."

Tired and wounded, that's their current condition.

There is also the emotional baggage.

Saphira looked down at Drake.

He wiped his tears and stood up, "I can still go on."

This is one of the things that Saphira cried about when she broke down.

That no matter how pained they were, they were left with no other choice but to keep going.

They grieve but they weren't given enough time to grieve properly because they need to stand back up instantly.

She looked at each of them, "We really are quite pitiful aren't we?"

They blinked upon hearing her words.

She sighed and turned to create the mana fire then she handed it to Felix. Though tired he was able to control it.

Watching him control her mana fire, her eyes once again flickered.

She took a deep breath and faced the others.

She didn't elaborate what she had just said but if they were to think about it just for a second they will instantly understand what she meant.

From time to time they couldn't help but to indeed pity themselves for the fate they were given.

They all took a deep breath and chose to let go of the heavy feeling they are having.

They focused and created the mana fires needed.

Saphira smiled before she started the process.

It was longer than when they did it in Atria Kingdom because this place was bigger.

But Saphira felt and saw the weaker demonic beasts and dark forces being pushed away from this place.

After it was properly created, everything went black for her.
