CHAPTER 246: Things Are Changing

Despite the harmony of their return, the atmosphere between them reverted back to before due to the fact that Elizabeth clings more on Hunter the next few days.

At the same time, her people started getting Saphira to accompany them in different sorts of reasons.

Either training or asking for things about matters regarding the dark force.

Even though Saphira was really not interested in them after what happened in their first meeting, she wasn't neglectful as to ignore them when they wanted to learn.

But she was caught between laughter and tears due to the fact that she clearly knows why they are being like this towards her.

She simply acted normally, neither mad nor happy about their attention.

After all, they were doing this for their beloved princess who had openly started showing her feelings for Hunter.

"I'm amazed."

And on this particular night, she was actually having a sparring with Nixon.

Those people wanted to pull her into anotehr long meeting but Nixon actually stepped in and saved her from them.

She really didn't get enough sleep because of them.

Did they really think that she would approach Hunter during the wee hours of the night?

Just what do they think of her?

"About what?" she asked him as their swords meet and a loud sound resounded in the silent dark forest, showing the strength they are putting on the sparring that they are having.

"You are not showing any signs of irritation at the way they tried to make you stay with them all day and all night long," Nixon replied, jumping back to evade a slash coming from his right side.

"Their reasons are proper enough, I don't have to be irritated or be angry for that. If they can learn more with their petty tricks then I don't mind helping them."

She pushed her sword forward towards his chest but he parried it with an upward slash.

But what followed was actually a knee on his abdomen, her sword and knee acted simultaneously without losing her balance that Nixon was caught off guard.

After he bent over due to the strength she placed into her knee attack, she pointed her sword on his face.

"You can't let your guard down just because you parried one attack. There might be more than just one follow up."

Nixon dropped his sword and raised both his hands, "I lost."

He then sat down on the ground, looked at the trees that were swaying with the night wind.

"Saphira," he called.

Saphira was about to put her sword back to its sheath when she heard him.

"Hmmm?"

"You have been irritated all this time, especially when you look at Hunter and Elizabeth together, why is that?"

Nixon looked at her with genuine curiosity.

Now she didn't know whether she should laugh or cry at this person who is close to being in his twenty's.

"You made me spar with you not to give me time to rest from those people but to actually ask this?" she asked and her eyes were almost laughing.

"Don't laugh at me," he grumbled.

He had been in a mess for a while now.

Just like back in Draco Empire.

He became better for a bit and then it returned.

He could not understand it at all.

And everything happens because of two people.

'But why? They didn't do anything wrong for me to be irritated towards them. Why am I feeling this way?' was the question that kept repeating in his mind.

Until he saw that same reaction on Saphira.

When he could no longer hold it in, he finally asked her but was actually laughed at by her.

Saphira sighed controlling the emotions in her eyes.

She put her sword back to its sheath and looked at him seriously.

"That answer, I can never give you."

"Why?"

He was bewildered, why can'ts he give it?

"It is difficult when it comes to other people. If you were given an answer and you found it absurd, you would not believe it even though it was the truth."

Nixon became even more confused.

Absurd?

Why would he suddenly think of an answer he had lonegd to know, to be absurd?

"Then do it this way."

Saphira squatted down beside him and looekd straight in his eyes.

"There is a time where your irritation disappeared, right?"

Nixon vigorously nodded his head.

"Think about that time and the times that you were seriously irritated. What were the difference between those two."

Nixon tried to think.

"You don't have to rush it, just slowly think carefully about everything that happened. The events and all, surely you will come up with an answer soon."

After saying her piece she left him on his own.

She yawned wanting to just rest for the night because of all those sleepless nights.

But then ended up hearing something.

"I am serious."

"Ah... But... Wait... This is..."

"I really an serious about what I just said. I thought I needed more time for confirmation but no, I know I don't need it. Please let me stay by your side."

"..."

Saphira sighed, "Why am I in the wrong place at a wrong time? I actually ended up hearing such heartfelt things."

She sighed again and left as quietly as possible in order not to embarrass the two of them.

Admittedly she didn't expect that he could be as straight forward as that.

She shook her head, 'I have my own problem right now yet I have to listen to others. I have to give advise to others. Aren't I a bit too pitiful right now?'

She laugehd in her head but turned to the side, there she saw Drake with a deep frown and a tinge of red on his cheeks.

Saphira couldn't help it and laughed causing him to glare at her.

"I guess I was not alone to become a victim of eating too much sweetness."

Drake rolled his eyes and simply went back to their camp.

'Things are changing, they are moving. As to how it will flow, time can only tell,' she thought before following him.
