Xua Ying Yue went down to her seat and sat down, she could feel the victorious and contemptuous gazes of everyone who were sitting next to her. Without even looking up at the faces of the boys and girls in the class, she understood that they all knew that she has been bullied by the three butterflies of the class but not only were they not sympathetic they were actually proud of what the three girls had done to her.

She bit her lip and clutched the pencil in her hands tightly, Xua Ying Yue did not know what she did to make everyone hate her so much, if she was poor so were their ancestors. It was not as if they were all born with the luck of an Emperor! So what right did they have to look down on her? She was sitting in this seat because of her hard work and nothing else, at least her rich daddy did not have to donate a big auditorium to the school like Lu Biya to get her a decent result!

" And this is what you have to do when you have to do when the question asks about the time of man when he reaches the position b," Xua Ying Yue could hear Teacher Ke telling them a new formula but she could not pay attention to what he was teaching, the insides of her thighs were stinging and she could feel her skin burning, even though Doctor Li has applied cooling ointment on her wounds, it was not as if she would be able to heal in just a half an hour.

What was more, her arm was also filled with burn marks from a cigar. Xua Ying Yue rubbed her arm that was stinging and tried to ease the burning sensation but the flesh that has been burned did not stop stinging, instead the more she rubbed it the fiercer it burned.

' It hurts, It hurts so much! What have I done to deserve this?' She could not help but think in her head as she tried to muffle the cries that were building in the back of her throat.

Smack!

Xua Ying Yue was still lost in the pain that was surging in her body when she felt a sharp sting on her forehead and looked up, to her surprise everyone was looking at her even Teacher Ke. In fact, it would be right to say that he was not looking at her, he was glowering at her with his eyes blaring with impatience.

" Can you hear me now, Miss Xua?" He asked while smacking the rolled book in his hand while holding it with another.

" Yes, teacher Ke," Xua Ying Yue replied causing laughter to erupt all over her once again. She could feel her cheeks burning as she clenched the pencil that she was holding in her hand even more and looked at the man who was staring at her with his lips curled in a disdain full smile.

" I want you to come and solve this question if you can grace us with your presence," said Teacher Ke as he gave the others a full-blown chance to laugh at Xua Ying Yue. " Or do you think that with your title as a genius, this sum is too easy for you to solve? Should I give you a tougher one, hmm?"

Xua Ying Yue turned her gaze to the blackboard and looked at the question that was written on it and slowly realised that Teacher Ke has written the most difficult question that he could find in the book for her. She pursed her lips and stood up from her seat when she saw that the man was getting impatient and walked over to the podium.

A part of her wanted to ask this teacher why he was making things difficult for her but she did not because she already knew it. Lu Biya and Lu Cheng's father gave Teacher Ke many gifts and bribes but her sister could only send him a bottle of fish pickles or something of the sort, compared to the flashy watches and wine bottles, her sister's pickles stuck out as a sore thumb.

Xua Ying Yue picked up the chalk that was specially kept on the side for her, this was a piece that Teacher Ke never used and only left for her even though the other students in the classroom did not use it.

Fortunately, for her, the one great thing was that the sum that Teacher Ke has written for her was something that she came across earlier while self-studying and thus she could solve it with ease.

" The answer is 20. 78 kilometres." She placed the chalk down and turned to look at teacher Ke whose expression if possible went even sour, he must have worked really hard to come up with this sum that was two grades above them and expected her to fail but couldn't.

" What are you looking smug for?" For the sake of hiding his embarrassment, he raised his hand and used the rolled book to smack Xua Ying Yue on her head. " Do you think that just because you have read it before, Miss Genius—— you have the right to ignore what I am saying? Go back to your seat and pay attention! The next time I see you turning a deaf ear to what I say, I will punish you severely."

"Now go back to your seat! And do not disturb the class again."

The smack on Xua Ying Yue's head caused Tan Jing to burst into a fit of a giggle, she pointed at Xua Ying Yue and banged her table. It could be seen that she was making much more disturbance but Teacher Ke did not even look at her much less scold her, it was as if he couldn't even see Tan Jing's ruckus.

Xua Ying Yue clenched her fists and then turned on her heel to walk back to her seat but as she turned around, she glanced at Tan Jing who was laughing at her and burned the image of the girl laughing in her head. As an ugly monster inside her started to break through its shell.
