Job

The knock on the door woke Alex up the next morning,

She looked at the other side of the bed, Avery was still asleep,she sluggishly went towards the door to get it open

"Good morning ma'am"

Augustine greeted after the door was open "ma'am corazon told me to call you down for breakfast"

"Okay, thanks, I'll be down in a jiffy" Alex said closing the door, she woke Avery up, they went downstairs after they had brushed their teeth

"Good morning ma"

"Good morning ma'am corazon"

Alex and Avery great respectively

"Beautiful morning, I hope you slept well"

Mrs corazon asked giving Avery a slight hug

"Yes I did, because I read my Bible before I went to bed"

Avery announced happily

"That's brilliant of you my dear...."

"Good morning Mom, Good morning everyone"

Corazon complimented before Pamela cut in, going straight to one of the plates on the table, of course she knew the particular plate her mom uses so she took one out of the others apart from her mom's

"I think we should all settle down and it" corazon said shifting the head chair backwards to sit.

They all ate quietly apart from Pamela who was on her phone throughout the breakfast.

" Can we talk before I go to work" corazon asked immediately the breakfast was over,

"Of course ma'am, Honey, go play upstairs, I'll catch up soon" Alex said referring to Avery

" Ok what do you intend doing"corazon asked after they had settle down to discuss,

"You need to get a job, and Avery needs to be registered in a school since you would be staying her for now

"Yes Mrs corazon, but I need to get a job before putting her in school, so I would be able to pay the fees"

"Don't worry about the fees, I'll take care of it, she will get registered today, mmm...I would have put you in a job if I was in the position to do that, my little brother is, I would tell him about it"

"Don't worry Mrs corazon, you've already done enough for me, shelter, food, clothes, and the fees, I'll search for a job myself, thank you so much"

Alex said feeling grateful

"I would do more if I could"

Corazon said

"Alright, I'll go get prepared"

Alex went to the room, Avery was cleaning her body with her baby Pink towel, she had taken a bath

"Come here baby" Alex said when she sat down on the bed, carrying Avery on her Laps,

"You and Mommy would be staying here for now, until we get our own place"

"Wow, we are really gonna stay in this mansion for long"

Avery said excited

"Yes honey, but not really for long. Momma's going to look for a job today, and Ma'am corazon promise to register you in school today, so get ready'

"Mom, do you mean Pamela's school, she's so mean and rude, do you think she would like me?"

Avery said wearing a long face

"Don't say that honey, she will probably get use to us, she's just not mutual with us yet, honey, she will get to like you, because you are such a sweet little girl honey" Alex said carrying her up

"Okay Mom"

"Now I'll go prepare so that i won't be late, go downstairs and wait for Mrs corazon, she'll tell you when she ready to go

"Okay Mom"

Where was I supposed to look for a job

Alex thought

She had already entered three places she saw vacancy, employee wanted but she wasn't able to get any.

She continued walking, she got to a bar 'devs place' and decided to take a drink.

She ordered one immediately she entered, she was really famished,

"One creamy coffee" she said after she was asked what she wanted.

"Why was it always you, Jade, you never do things the right way, we've had lots of complaint about you, I'm sorry but you are fired! Go put the vacancy sign out Lisa, we need replacement"

Alex heard a man which she assumed was the owner of the bar, she was happy when she heard about the replacement they needed, though she felt for the man that was fired, she went straight to the counter, were the man who fired the worker was.

"Good day sir, I'm Alex McKenzie, I want to apply for a job here, I really need this job" Alex pleaded when she got to the counter.

"I'm Kelvin Williams, so.. how long do you intend to work here and what shift?"

Kelvin Williams asked

"For as long as, and I want to work a whole day, if that's possible"Alex answered with a pleading eyes.

"Then you are hired! Work starts tomorrow, 7:30am"

"Thank you so much sir"

Alex said gratefully

I told Mrs Corazon about how everything went, she came back so early today, though Avery and Pamela were not back from school

"Congrats Alex, that's a good start" Mrs corazon said after Alex told her about the job

"Thanks ma'am, I'll go have my shower now" Alex said
