Impossible truth

20th Century

"Impossible! Kill him King!" Samurai roared with menace.

"I SWEAR BY MOON GODDESS I AM NOT LYING. YOU KNOW WHEN ONE IS LYING!" The witcher screams from the pit of his lungs, struggling to loosen the strong grip of the king around his throat.

The Alpha growl in an agonizing manner, seeing the truth in the witcher's eyes. The witcher was hyperventilating and both men could smell the fear from him. "He speaks the truth!" The King Alpha murmured.

"This is impossible!" Sumarai snapped.

"I know!" The Alpha king snapped back, "but he's eyes speaks the truth." He loosen his firm grip from the witcher's throat.

"If I find out of you lied, I swear by the Moon Goddess, I will kill everything and everyone you hold dear in your presence and I will make you beg for your death!" He spoke with venom and released the witcher who almost passed out due to lack of oxygen.

"You better pray to the creator that what you speak off is the truth, If not I will rip you to shreds myself." Samurai shouted.

"Remember not a word to anyone or else you will seize to exist in this realm." Samurai added to his previous threat making the witcher begin to doubt his diagnostics.

The Alpha King who has been silent for minutes suddenly spoke," you will be the only one to treat her. Her health is in your hands now." His pupil dilating, declaring the presence of his beast.

"Now leave!" He snapped making the witcher to stumble twice while running for his life.

"How is this possible? She doesn't even have a beloved? Who's responsible for this act of abomination?" Sumarai bombarded the King Alpha immediately the witcher left.

"I..I.." The Alpha king opened his mouth but no words could come out except 'I'. He was utterly confused and afraid to acknowledge the impossible truth.

"What is it that you are trying to say? Do you know if she has a beloved? She can't have a beloved right?" Samurai looked to the King eyes trying to find any emotion to decipher, "Say something!" He yelled, shaking the king vigorously whose mind seemed to be out of their realm.

"I..." The Alpha voice was strained. His throat suddenly dry. How was he to explain how the Queen got pregnant with his child. No one would believe this and if there was a bit of truth to it then it was not him. But he couldn't insult the Queen's dignity as a woman because he knew deep down he was the only man she had ever laid with.

"Your silence is killing me, you know something which you are not telling me." Samurai accused harshly.

"I- d-do-don't know w-what you want me to say." The king stammered, confusion and shock written all over his face.

"Since when did you start stammering? What is going on? What are you hiding?" This time he shook the King viciously than ever.

"We all know that as leaders of the council we don't have a beloved. That was one thing the creator deprived us of...."

"Exactly my point! So how the hell can she be with a child? Its preposterous!" Samurai yelled cutting the King off.

"Then how can she be pregnant? You should have kill that man the moment he tainted our Queen's dignity." He added, not giving the king chance to speak.

"I couldn't, his eyes were sincere. I've known the Queen long enough to know she has no beloved. The only person who shared her bed was me." He finished off saying, watching the Guardian face grow pale.

Samurai who couldn't believe his ears shook his head in denial. No, no, no!"

"Yes its the truth. I'm the one."

"Don't you dare finish that statement." Samurai warned, his eyes blazing with fire.

"Listen to me!" The  Alpha yelled, this time holding Samurai face to hold him still, if she's with child then it is I_"

"No!"  Samurai cut him off and pushed the King backwards.

"Yes!" He snapped back, "as preposterous and abominable as it sounds, if it is true then the child is mine." This time the King was able to finish his statement before any interruptions from the stubborn Guardian.

A wave of dizziness bathe Samurai making him stumble backwards, his back hitting and sliding against the wall only to make his butt land on the wooden floor with a loud 'TAH' sound. His mind didn't even process the pain but rather the words 'then the child is mine' kept echoing in his head. His body was convulsing. He felt his head was about to explode.

"It can't be true." He mumbled with fear. The king watched as his fellow council member and friend shook in denial with his head buried in his hands. Same way he thought his mind would explode when he heard the witcher say she was with a child. He was filled with dread.

"How is that even possible Nikolai?" Samurai questioned, uttering his name for the first time in centuries. He rose his head up waiting to hear the Alpha's response.

"I swear I don't know if it is even possible. I'm just as confused as you are. There has never been interbreeding with different species especially with lycans and vampires. It is only the witches that can breed with all the four sects. My mind is still trying to accept it, even though my heart has." He sighed heavily. The sudden ache in his head wasn't making it easy for him either.

"What if she did found out she had a mate or what if she used magic? Its possible, you know how sentimental she can be." The guardian said with wide eyes like has finally decipher the answer.

"No, a magic like that is damn near impossible. It would take a lot of sacrifices and that can create an imbalance to our world." The King reason out.

"Exactly what I was thinking. A child of your blood and the Queen, would be indestructible enough to cause an imbalance. That is why I refuse to accept it."

Suddenly the words of the Guardian struck a nerve of the King. He knew it was an abomination and unheard off but never had he thought of the indestructible power the child would have. With two powers combined that child could have the power of an Angelis.

He couldn't feel the air rushing into his lungs any more. He face was red, he couldn't breathe and he begun to hyperventilate. Samurai rushed to his friend's aid, grabbing the nearest stool for the king to sit, "breath." He pat his friend's back.

"Now you understand how I was almost at the brick of insanity." Samurai grunted.

"It could also be impossible for one person to have both genes, it will kill it since both genes will fight for dominance. The baby might not survive and even if it does it might come out with only one gene." The king retorted.

"A lycan or vampire gene!" Samurai breathed heavily.

"A news like this could tarnish the Queen's image among her subjects making them loose faith in her execution of power. It can even lead to her dethronement by her subjects." Fear and worry etched on the Guardian's face.

He quickly grab his friend's hands placing it on his forehead. "Promise me you won't say a word to anyone not even to Mira until we are sure of this." The forehead oath was soul bidding and cannot be broken even if you want to, your soul can't until its given the permission.

The doors opened and Samurai retrieved his hand quickly. Mira and the Lord of the vampires walked in graciously staring at the two startled council men. "Well?" she asked with a glint of mischief in her emerald eyes, "what is it that he shouldn't tell me?"

"Ahem!" Samurai cleared his throat and elbowed the King to answer the Witch Queen.

"To hide the fact that the Queen will wake up any day from today." He said with a smile hoping the Lord won't catch onto his lies.

"Why would you want to hide such a vital news from us and the people?" The Lord questioned suspiciously.

"He thought we should keep the news of her awakening a secret to make it a surprise." Samurai answered for the King who was irritated by the lord's bluntness.

"Good news is the best element of surprise." Mira stated, to ease the silent tension in the room.

She spoke again hoping her trick would work this time. "I've still not been able to get in contact with the Oracle. Does the witcher know why she hasn't woken up yet?" Mira asked with sadness as her eyes drifted off to the Queen's bed.

"Yes he did. He said she's weak due to the previous stress of war before her induced sleep." Samurai said with a sigh.

"He also said she must be fed with three jars of blood. He will be the one to nurse the Queen back to life." The King quickly chimed in.

"Wait, what do you mean induced sleep?" The Lord narrowed his eyes at the two men.

"Oh no!" Mira breathe out, taking a sit in order to prepare herself for the disaster that was about to happen.

"Speak!" The Lord yelled.

"Mind your tongue and remember your place." The Guardian warned him.

"Not when my Queen is in danger!" He snapped, his hands shaking beside him.

"Danger? Haha!" It was a sinister laughter coming from the Alpha that twitch a nerve in the Lord's neck.

With a heavy sigh, Mira stood up from the chair to intervene before the carpet is stained with blood and it was going to be the Lords' blood. "Let me handle this!" She stepped in between the Guardian and the lord, "we are the head of the supernatural council and our duty is to protect and even sometimes from ourselves. It was for her own good."

"Without her consent, it is regarded as a threat to our region." The Lord said painfully.

"We did try to convince her but she refused so we had no choice than to force it on her. She was showing signs of weakness, fatigue and the worst all was sweat....," noticing how shocked and wide eyed the lord was, the Alpha paused.

"Yes she was sweating. It was a difficult decision to make but it was what was best for her and the kingdom." The Guardian chimed in.

"She was at the brick of passing out. And even now it seems a century of rest isn't enough for her to gain back her strength. Therefore, I suggest you don't accuse us of conspiring against the Vampire Queen again." This time Mira wasn't calm but rather cold and authoritative.

"Please forgive me my Queen, my king and Lord Guardian for over stepping my boundaries. I was trying to look out for my Queen. I apologize." The Lord bowed on one knee.

"It should not happen again, I might not be forgiving next time." The Guardian threatened.

"Likewise!" The Queen mumbled.

Both the Queen and the Guardian waited for the King to say anything but he was silent which they both found it very strange because they knew how temperamental and domineering the King was. "Give me the status report of the people's address." The king demanded, which took all of them by surprise.

The king Alpha was no fool, he understood the Lord's protectiveness over his Queen. He knew the secret feelings the man harbored for the Queen over the decades. He, himself knew what it meant to protect the one you love and that alone has earned the lord his respect. Although a part of him was always jealousy because the lord was near to the Queen at all times, he knew that he had won the Queen's heart and for that, he was content.

The King Alpha smirked at the Lord's confusion, "I'm waiting!"
