Mental zone[1]-Attack of the Blood Fog

"Huh, Really Now!?"

Ruthven could understand the other stats that were extremely high, after all the Killing he did, that much was plausible, but he still didn't understand one thing, and that was his age.

Not even a year, No!!... Not even a day had passed since he was in the war, but his age had already increased by over a hundred years.

"Just how old am I??" Even if the system had explained to him the reason for the increase in his age, it never said anything about this....

Did this mean that every time he went out, his age would Increase?

Ruthven wanted to ask the system more questions, but remembering the rush in its tone, he thought that it'd be best he left it be, and then just as he was about to relax...

A DING! was heard.

<[Notice] The system requires that the host fix his appearance due to appearances playing an important role in the quest that will be beginning momentarily.>

"Another one!?" A disappointed tone left Ruthven's mouth, "Don't I get to rest?"

<[Notice] The host will get plenty of rest in the next quest.>

Hearing the system's words, a sigh left Ruthven's mouth. Still, the system's offer to fix his appearance wasn't a bad one-His current condition wasn't a pleasing one.

Ruthven took one look at his blood-covered body, tattered clothes, and long and unkempt hair before a thought crossed his mind.

"Uhmm, system? ' He called out, "How am I supposed to fix my appearance, again?"

Except for blood-covered lands, leafless trees, and such, There was nothing else In the safe zone, meaning the was nothing Ruthven could use to fix himself.

<The host needs only shout "Options" and the appropriate tools will be given.>

Wondering what the system meant by its words, Ruthven unsurely shouted out, "Options!!'

[Confirmed]

Many panels appeared, surrounding Ruthven, each focusing on different aspects of his body and the options to modify it.

Seeing all this, an excited smile quickly attached itself to Ruthven's face and his hand moved about the panels, scrolling, looking for his preferred modifications.

For his hair, Ruthven scrolled for minutes before he found something that suited his preference, and without wasting any time, he pressed it.

[Preferred Hairstyle chosen, The host is now recommended to fix his face.]

Ruthven's mouth, though still with a wide smile, opened in shock, "I can do that?"

Excited to see what could be done with the face, Ruthven moved to the next panel, only to find that only small changes could be made to his face, but that didn't disappoint him in the least.

Starting with the cleansing function on his face, Ruthven got rid of old scars, wrinkles, and all small unnoticeable pimples, this gave him a perfect pale clean face.

Onto to the next option, He chose a preferred look for his brows, slightly trimmed, enough to give him a calm yet fierce look, that was his option.

After the alteration of his Hair and some other small features on his face were complete, Ruthven then moved on to the eye option that had been mysteriously Locked.

"Uhmm, System, what's wrong with the eye option?"

<[Notice] The Host's eyes have an ability currently active, The system can not make alterations to abilities at this point.>

"Mmm, is that so?" Holding his chin, Ruthven stood still for a few seconds, deep in thought, "Then system, is it possible to turn the ability off?"

<Scanning>

<Scanning>

<It is possible>

"That's good news." Ruthven quickly said before he tried turning his eyes' ability off.

To turn the ability off, Ruthven thought of his eyes as light switches, he closed his eyes- just like in the battlefield- and moments later when he opened them again, The cyan color they were releasing slowly faded.

"Guess that worked!" He said, feeling the changes around his eyes, "That was way easier than I thought it'd be, but oh well, hurray to me!!"

The moment of victory Ruthven got after his minor achievement didn't last long as, after a couple of blinks from him, the chaotic atmosphere of the Bloodlands rushed towards his eyes.

Like mist being vacuumed, The chaotic energy of the Bloodlands was sucked into Ruthven's vulnerable eyes.

<WARNING!!>

<WARNING!!>

<[HOST IS IN DANGER!!!]>

Screams were soon heard, as Ruthven started crying blood.

Pain to the point where one wanted to gauge out their eyes was felt by Ruthven who begged for it all to stop...

<[Notice]Interference from The [OLD GODS] has been detected>

"Make it Stop!!! Make it Stop!!!!...No more, pl... please, STOP!!!"

Unnoticed by Ruthven, Every single scream he let out was turned in to blood-red fog that continued to grow, fully surrounding him.

<WARNING!!!>

<The System is unable to counter!!!>

<No countermeasures can be implemented.>

The Bloodlands themselves were being affected, Earthquakes rumbled, new mountains emerged, and rivers formed, though in too much pain to notice...

The Bloodlands or God's abode as the system called it, seemed to be connected to Ruthven's mental state.

<The host is about to enter their MENTAL ZONE..>

<The system hopes you can survive>

<Good luck!>
