"This HAND I've held tightly. To KEEP it close to me. I CAN'T let it slip through these fingers I'LL HOLD ON. It's away with those OLD DAYS back when I had NOTHING or NO ONE to lose. I DO NOW."

----- One OK Rock/Against the Current, The Beginning, Usumgallu Chronicles OST Track 19

Somewhere along the Arabian Gulf …

A humongous cloaked stranger stood at the edge of a jagged precipice facing the violent waves along the coastlines of Samahij. For how long, time didn't count. The visitor was there silently watching and observing as if waiting for something to happen or someone to come. It's almost dawn but the cloudy skies hinder the soon to be rays of the rising sun. The strong winds continued to lash out blowing the hood that covered the head of the outsider. As it fell behind its shoulders, a male visage was revealed and the winds now toyed with its riots of wavy hair as dark as night. He sighed as if he carried the world around his shoulders. Not long after, a flash occurred behind him signaling new arrivals. There were two of them, also cloaked just like him, but theirs vary in color. While his was a navy blue, the new comers wore an earth brown and deep gray. "Where are the others," he asked still facing the ocean.

"On their way," answered the one who's in earth brown cloak.

"You got the Seattle incident covered, Gir? Lucifer's been squawking lately. We can't let that reach to the Mavromino's ears knowing they are everywhere."

Eyes as blue as the ocean mischievously squinted at his fellow comrade who still refuses to face them. "Yes, Dara. Already taken cared of. Thanks to Lucien, the Greek warrior who cages the demon of Death and Nibo the African Psychopomp, I need not to sully my hands. Didn't know the latter has it in him to blow the King of Lies' cover and reroute his minions back to him instead. Or the underworld lord, as he calls himself. The former is a vicious SoB even I won't mess with."

"Relax Boyo. Everything's going smoothly. You always worry too much. All's under our control, thanks to Forneus and Beak-face' help."

Another flash came and a second pair of cloaked guests arrived. The one with the bulkier frame wore a deep orange bordering on blood red and the smaller one obviously a female, wore purple that could appear black to mortal eyes. "Gomen for the tardiness, Dara. Asag is a tenacious beast. Namuš and I needed to combine forces just to make the bastard yield."

Dara finally turned around, faced his fellow comrades and nodded to Ninim in acknowledgement.

"Did you find something on the Šarratum-Ippīru's exact location, Dara?" Namuš asked.

"Not yet. But I'm working on it. Why do you think I asked for an impromptu rendezvous in this location? I felt her essence near Qal'at but it was abrupt. I need a confirmation from all of you I ain't mistaken."

Namuš raised an eyebrow. "What? Is your tracking skills getting rusty?"

"No, moron," the Šarru-Dara retorted. "It is difficult to pick out because there's another strong presence interfering. I can't just traipse in there without being found out. Mavromino signature swarms the perimeter."

"Damn! And our life gets easier?"

"Shut it Namuš," he viciously glared at the orange-cloaked Šarra. "I don't have the necessary patience to deal with your sarcasm at this moment. The Šuzerain is anxious. He doesn't want the primals to find out where his other anchor is located."

"But we're NOT dogs, Dara. You should have called for the hellhounds instead. They have the necessary equipment to go for a-sniffing."

The Šarru-Dara's hazel brown nestled in green orbs flashed bright red. "Geez, Dara, chill. Namuš is playing you," the Šarru-Gir sniggered. "You're too serious, really. Calm down, Coz. We'll work it out. There's nothing in this universe that can stop me from messing with my own father's head. I live to piss him off so no worries over not helping you in this. Right boys and gal?"

The Šarru Namuš loudly chuckled as he shook his head, while the Šarru Ninim snickered and the Šarru Tahazu guffawed without a care if the world hears it.

"Let's go and get this over quick." The Šarru-Dara gruffly barked and they simultaneously flashed to their next destination.

You might notice the mention of Lucien’s name. Yes, he’s from Gena Showalter’s Lords of the Underworld series. The Keeper of the Demon of Death.
