VR- METAVERSE

.

Within a large shop, a young handsome man in a black tank top sat beside a computer with an extremely focused expression, while he typed with unending accuracy.

His blonde hair was short and his piercing blue eyes shone like gems. Across his desk, a beautiful purple skinned female sat on another desk, while she continually daydreamed while staring at him.

"Got it." He tapped the enter key on the keyboard and said with a small smile, before he reclined in his seat.

"You're joking. I don't believe this." The purple skinned woman stood up with an extremely surprised expression, before she walked to his desk and saw the prompt on his screen.

Immediately her mouth opened wide, and she staggered a few steps back.

"You-you really did it?" After a few minutes of gawking, she finally came to her senses. She looked him right in the eye. Seeing as he wasn't kidding, a smile blossomed on her face, before she hugged him unexpectedly.

.

The concept of day and night didn't exist in the metaverse, but if Silver was to calculate how long he had spent here, it'll probably be a few days.

And in those few days, he had been working tirelessly to complete the quest from the system. Finally, today, after hacking multiple companies and servers, their rating had increased drastically from 2.3-4.6.

Even Selina couldn't believe her eyes. Not only had she gained a lot of wealth in the past few days, she had learnt so many useful techniques from him that, she felt her old self was but an amateur, despite having being a hacker for decades.

"Ding! Mission completed! Does player want to receive rewards now?" Silver heard a voice in his head which made him smile.

"Receive." He spoke telepathically.

"Ding! Player has received 400 Sp!"

"Ding! Congratulations, player had received the legendary grade technique Lightspeed."

Silver smiled when he saw the notifications from the system.

Techniques and weapons in the metaverse were divided into Rare, Legendary, Mythic, Divine and Immortal. And the amazing part was, they could be used in the real world as well.

"System, quick explanation of the lightspeed technique." He telepathically spoke.

"The lightspeed Technique is designed to increase the speed of the user. It's divided into four levels, with each level adding up to users speed in multiples of two." The system responded which made him nod.

"Alright Selina, I'll take a break. I'll come back later." He smiled and stood up from his seat.

"Sure. You deserve it. I've wired 4000sp to your account. You deserve it." She winked at him and walked to her desk.

Silver only smiled and nodded, before walking out. He had to go back to the real world to see how things were going over there. "System, sign out." He said after walking out, and immediately, his body turned corporeal and he vanished.

.

The next second, he found himself back in his room. He stretched his back and yawned.

"Welcome back Sir." The AI said, while he nodded. "Did anything interesting happen in my absence Ares?" He asked before taking off his clothes. "No Sir, but your friends did come by a lot of times." The AI replied.

"I see." He rushed to the bathroom, took a quick shower and dressed up.

Wearing his uniform, he picked up a white piece of cloth, neatly folded it and placed it in his pocket and walked to the hall.

"How do I look Ares?" Silver picked up his glasses and put them on, before standing in front of a mirror and admiring himself.

"Good as always Sir." The AI replied which made him smile narcissistically, after which he placed his palms together and disappeared mysteriously.

.

Within a class, a man in white robes stood in front of a group of students, while he lectured.

"The National Student Arcanist Competition is going to begin in a month, but before that, there is going to be an intra school tournament. It's not compulsory for 1st years because continuing students will be participating and their strengths are higher than yours, but if you want to, you're free to participate.

The top 10 winners would go on to represent the institution during the National Competition, and if they prevail, they'll head on to the international competitions.."

The man said, as his eyes glanced over his students.

After a few moments, a handsome youth with long golden hair raised up his hands.

"Yes Samael." The teacher pointed to him. "How strong are the 2nd years and 3rd years, and who is the strongest student of this institution?" The golden haired youth asked, while a cold beauty sitting beside him nodded.

"Good question." The teacher, Gerald smiled and took a seat on a chair nearby. "The average strength of the 2nd year students is at the 5th level. The average strength of the third year students is the 6th level." He said.

"Also-" " Sorry I'm late." Just as he was about to continue, a figure mysteriously appeared beside the door and flashed an awkward smile before walking into the class.

Gerald only glanced at Silver, carefully examining him and let out a small smile. "Where the hell have you been Silver? We went to your place, but Ares didn't let us in."

Moon whispered in his ear which caused him to sigh and shake his head.

"Yo buddy, you want to spar a little after class?" Samael turned to Silver with a smug smile and said. "What? You want to get your ass kicked again?" Silver asked cockily, as Samael furrowed his brows.

"As I was saying." Gerald's voice sounded out, as Samael retreated back to his seat. "Now listen carefully you lot, especially you, Silver." Gerald said, which made Silver pay attention.

"Although you lot have been chosen to join the competition, if you lose against the 2nd and 3rd years, you won't be able to join the national competition." Gerald said, as Silver raised raised an eyebrow.

Silver nodded. He knew exactly what Gerald was talking about and how it could affect him if he lost.

"Listen carefully, amongst the 2nd years, most of them are talented, but there is one person you need to be wary of." They listened carefully.

"David Williams, a sixth level arcanist. His arcana is gravity manipulation. He's even stronger that about 85 percent of the third years. But compared to him, the next threat you should be wary of is like a God.

Richard Stevens. A level 7 arcanist and the strongest student in the school currently. He's a Special Grade arcanist just like you guys, and his arcana is based on the ancient Kryptonian God, Rao." Gerald said ominously, while the others listened on with furrowed brows.

Even Silver had furrowed brows at the moment. He knew he was strong. With all his techniques, a level five arcanist won't be his match. Even a level six would be a stretch for him, but a level 7 was too much for the current him to handle. Not to talk of the fact that, the opponent had an arcana based on Rao of Krypton.

"Honestly speaking, if all of you even ganged up on him to fight, you'd lose terribly." Gerald added with a smile.

"Even him?" Samael pointed at Silver and asked with a frown.

"He might be able to hold out for a few minutes but he'd lose eventually." Gerald responded, while looking at Silver.

"But, the main reason why you guys would lose, especially Silver, is because of the difference between your cultivation levels. With sufficient training, if you can advance about 2 more levels, you should be able to secure a place in the top 10." Gerald said.
