Basic Key

In Uncle Li's house.

After coming out of the mirror, world Wang Wei started contemplating.

Wang Wei's plan is to submit a key. As system definitely lists an item related to the submitted one, he is speculating that he can receive some sort of upgraded key which can open any type of lock

But Wang Wei is still hesitant because of the downside of completing a task using a burrowed item. According to what Genesis said, if Wang Wei completes the task using a system item, then his rewards will be decreased.

And if he doesn't use the system, then he does not know if he can complete the task in given time or not as there is less than 3 hours remaining.

"Wait, a minute. Genesis said that there will be a decrease in the rewards" he said out loud and immediately opened the system log and re-verified the task again.

"Genesis, you said that there will be a decrease in "rewards" right?" he asked Genesis through his conscious stress the rewards part

"Yes, Mr. Wei. There will be a decrease in the rewards" said Genesis puzzled

"Okay!" he exclaimed with excitement

He immediately submitted the key, which he is holding in his hand

"Appraising" said a monotonic voice

When Wang Wei is thinking on whether to use system item or not, he remembered the task prompt he saw. Because it is clearly given that for completing the task he will receive 400 experience and as for rewards he will receive 200 system points and a lucky draw.

So technically, whatever trick may Wang Wei used to complete the task, he will receive the 400 exp. As he needs exp for leveling up, Wang doesn't have to consider about the rewards.

"I do not urgently need system points as there I can only use them after leveling up to 3rd level and the lucky draw, I know my luck better than anyone. So I can forget about it" he thought, but soon he heard system's voice.

"Appraisal failed. Item is not owned by the user"

"What does that mean?" he yelled. Instantly he remembered what Genesis said at the beginning , he can only submit the items of his possession. That means that Wang Wei should own them.

But he submitted the keys of Uncle Li's house, which means the keys are also owned by Uncle Li but not Wang Wei.

"Crap!! how can I forgot about this important rule? Now where should I get a key. I even sent Yong away. Arghh!!" said Wang Wei, frustrated.

He sent Wang Yong away as he wants to use a system for submitting. If the keys in Wei's hand disappear and reappear, Wang Yong will think that he knows magic and pester him to teach Wang Yong the tricks.

So he made up a story about a memo book and chased him away. But he didn't expect that it will start a fresh problem.

Because If he hadn't sent his brother away, Wang Wei would have had the keys to his apartment which technically makes them his own keys but now he has to wait till Wang Yong returns, collect the keys and make another story to send him away again

Suddenly he remembered something and went into mirror world

"Have you completed the task, Mr. Wei?" asked Genesis, not knowing the stupid things Wang Wei did

"Not yet" he said and searched the mirror world.

Wang Wei kept some of his personal items in the mirror world so that he can use them whenever he wants. He remembered keeping a spare key of their apartment too, with his items. After searching for a minute, he found them in one of his trousers.

He kept some clothes in case of an emergency.

He came out of the mirror world and immediately submitted his spare key

"Appraising"

"According to the previous pattern there is over 50 percent chance to receive a universal key" he thought

"Appraising Complete" said system, and a panel opened before Wang Wei,

[Value : 13]

"Do you wish to submit?"

"Yes" said Wang Wei firmly

As always, a list of items opened in front of him

"Yes. Finally" said Wang Wei with joy with sweat on his palms. When he went through from the top of the list, he didn't find any item related to a key. So he got tensed and even questioned himself, but at the end of the list he found the item he required.

Wang Wei picked the Basic key and immediately a key appeared in his hand, which is identical to his apartment key

Looking at the description of the key, Wang Wei found that this key can only be utilized for basic locks.

"What if this combination lock isn't a basic lock?" he thought and appraised the lock

"Appraising"

"Appraising Completed"

The system has shown the details

"Well, looks like the item related to the task cannot be submitted. The system is fair" he said.

"But still its logic has so many loopholes" Wang Wei grinned, looking at the description because the system assigned the lock under basic type

He kept the system burrowed key on the padlock as there won't be any keyhole to insert it for a combination lock

Instantly the numbers on the padlock moved themselves on their own and stopped within a second

Wang Wei heard a simple sound of padlock opening itself and at the same time he saw the key in his hand disappearing

"Yes!!!" he punched his fists in the air and yelled out loud

Wang Wei went through the task completion panel and felt relieved looking at the experience

"Uff . . ." he sighed

"My bet paid off" he said and picked the padlock to look at the combination

"15th December 2018?" Wang Wei said confused.

"What does this day represent?" he thought, but he kept that thought behind his head and opened the study room door

"What the heck?" Wang Wei said dumbfounded, "Why is it so empty?"

Wang Wei remembered seeing the study room filled to the brim with books and antiques. It would always take him a whole day just to clean the dust on those books, but now all he can see a small coffee table in the middle of this huge room.

Wang Wei went near the table and found a circular device on it.

"Isn't this a hologram device? These things are still under research how did Old Li get his hands on one?" he said confused.

Because even though hologram devices can be seen all around the world, the miniaturized devices are still under research. Wang Wei remembered seeing the picture of one of those on the internet.
