As Shivani walked closer to her home sitting in the empty space in the middle of fields, realization started taking over with every step. This was not what she expected to come back to and anything out of place is usually not a good news considering history.

Beneath the dark sky of late evening, her house, that almost was never out of light was hardly visible from the distance of hundred metres. Even with none of them home, there was always the night lights of porch blinking through the unobstructed path.

"Is Zoya not home?" She talked to herself right before tripping over a blunt stone on way and fell face first on the marshy ground, knocking over the bag on her shoulder into wet mud. Cursing to herself, she pushed herself on the knees and grasped the bag belt, pulling it up with her.

"Shivani? Oh no, what happened?" Zoya's voice came followed by the grasp of a hands.
