7 7 Kitty's True Name

Leo felt sheer pain from the blood as soon as it touched his body. He refused to move a muscle and didn't let on just how much pain it was causing him. The blood symbol turned into a tattoo with a shimmery glint. The new mark and area finally cooled down, and Leo no longer felt the pain. He looked at Kitty, who was now restlessly sleeping next to him. 'I finally got my Kitty.' He ran his hand down her mark that she placed on him. He let Kitty sleep, but he got out of bed and called the front desk to order some room service for when she woke up. He looked down, and the hunter's mark was also still visible. 'Am I what I used to hunt now?' Leo walked to the bathroom and ran the water before getting into the shower. The water felt refreshing and warm as the water ran down his body. He washed up quickly and got out of the shower. He put on a robe and walked out, drying his hair. There was a knock at the door. He opened the door and ran his hand through his hair. He took the room service food and handed the young man a twenty-dollar tip. "Thanks." He closed the door and brought the food to the bedroom. Bringing the food into the bedroom, he gently shook Kitty's shoulder. "Kitty, I got you something to eat."

Kitty was sweating; the pain was intense but well worth it. She felt Leo shaking her. She opened her eyes and reached out to touch her mark on him. "It looks good on you." She slowly sat up and took the offered tray of food. "Thank you, Leo." She opened the lid and ate the meal. 'How will I explain this to the family? A hunter turned demon.' She smiled. "Leo, my true name is Kitsune, but you must not ever call me that unless it's just the two of us. Names are a powerful tool to control demons. My powers are now linked to you through my mark. We, the fox demons, choose our mate and can turn them into one of us with our seal. I'm very unstable at the moment, so my powers won't go to you... yet."

Seeing her eat brought a smile to Leo's face. "Kitsune. It's a stunning name. I now understand the shortening of your name to Kitty. Is the knowledge of names for most demon races or specifically fox demons? I won't write any of this down as I'm merely curious. Wait, maybe I shouldn't ask these types of questions given my background." He frowned at himself. 'Knowledge is power, but I don't really need to know everything about other races. Old habits are going to be hard to break.' He inwardly sighs at himself. "The better questions I do need answers for would have to do with what you mentioned. If your powers are linked to me, what does that mean for me? What will happen to me? And when will it happen?" He leaned down and kissed the top of her head.

Kitsune finished eating and looked up at Leo. "I will tell you what you need to know, but," Kitsune paused and thought of how to word her following statement. "There are certain parts I can't tell you. It would be dangerous with myself being unstable. It's not that I am unwilling or not trusting of you, but I have to protect my people. They are my responsibility. I can tell you that once I become more stable, my demon blood will override your human blood. You will no longer be human but be what you would've hunted. We will be connected as I am the one who turned you. The good thing is that no one will be able to separate us once I'm stable." She ran her hands over her belly. "I am the most powerful of my clan. I know that won't make sense, but please bear with it, at least for now." She grabbed onto the robe sleeve and gently pulled. Her hand was slightly shaking.

Leo listens carefully. He raises one of his eyebrows. 'Her people? I wonder what she means by that.' He places his hand over her shaking hand. "Kitsune, I trust you. When it's safe to explain everything to me, please do. Is there anything I should do?" He bent down and kisses the top of her head in between her fox ears. Her ears twitch and brush up against his cheek. "Your ears are soft." He whispers into the ear and blows into it.

Kitsune blushes and lets out a small moan. "Please don't blow in my ear. They're rather sensitive. You'll have to wear shirts that cover the mark, but you should be able to continue your," she pauses, "work. I'll be stabilized in about three months. Shortly after, our baby is born. I can't stay with you here, and you won't be able to come with me to where I'm staying. With your work, I doubt you can stay three months, so when you're able to take time off, aim for it to be around when the baby is due." Looking sadly, she turned and kissed his cheek.

Her reaction was so adorable he didn't want others to see or hear her reactions. "Unfortunately, you are correct. I can't take three months off, but I can work it so that I have four weeks off in roughly two and a half months. I can understand that you bringing a hunter home would not settle well with your family." His face twitches in annoyance. 'I have never been so upset over my work. After I finally found her, I'm going to have to let her go again. I really don't want to let her go. She is mine.' His possessiveness was starting to get out of control. Trying to calm down, he asked, "Are you staying with a male or female?"

Kitsune didn't miss the twitch. "Are you jealous?" she giggles, "there is no one else I would rather spend my life with than you, Leo. I am living with my grandmother. She is the most experienced and treats everyone like they are her own children. I do look forward to introducing you to her." She smiles, sits up and moves forward. "Will you sit behind me so I can lean into your embrace?"
