Backstory!

(Leonin)-Long ago their people worshipped the gods of Theros but they soon were hunted like dogs by a tyrant king known as Agnomakhos. They soon started disliking all gods and now don't trust them and hunt those know as Nyx-born as they come from the same plane and closely resemble the gods they use there superior hunting skills and knowledge of the land to complete their goal.

Not all Leonin do this some do worship gods in secret as they fear the consequences if they are discovered.

(Triton)-Tritons dwell throughout the Siren Sea, exploring a world of coral forest and secret mountains the "dry folk" of the surface would never know. Whilst most live their entire lives beneath the sea, they're not shackled to the deep, following their inherit curiosity, some Tritons venture beyond the waves, seeking to explore a whole world of wonder beyond their own.

For centuries dry folk have fished the seas of Theros and have used the seas surface as a means of travel, many Tritons interpret this as an intrusion into their domains. As a result some warlike triton community's respond with periodic strikes against sailors and fishing vessels. Others believe that turnabout is a fair play and so venture onto land to hunt for meat, steal supplies from coastal travelers, or raid dry folk polis's for riches.

Despite the tensions between Tritons and the people of the surface, some Tritons make their lives on land. Enchanted by the feeling of the winds, the rustle of leaves, the ingenuity of land dwelling inventions, or any of countless other surface world charms, every triton living beyond the waves does so for their own reasons. In some places, like the polis of Meletis, whole triton communities flourish among dry folk neighbors.
