Late night call

Hearing his husky voice was enough to make her sit up straight. Her hand was gripping the phone tightly, pressed against her ear. Her other hand was busy flipping the blanket to and fro, creating a small gust of wind, blowing softly on her nightgown.

Adrenaline began to rush through every single cell of her body that she could not sit still any longer. She felt the need to fidget about so she began pacing back and forth in the room, smiling from ear to ear. But it was still not satisfying.

Her free hands began to roam around as though having a brain of its own as it looks for things to twiddle about. She sat on the chair by the study table and twirled the pen around her fingers.

Time felt like it stood still with exception of her excited little heart.

The other end of the line was dead silent except for the sound of a clock ticking at the background. Sara grew impatient as she wanted to hear the man speak again.

"Lucas? Are you there?"
