Vincent couldn't catch a break, he sighed. He would be heading over to Artimi, a world full of swamps to search for a girl named Alice Mangrove. The caller was named Jacob Mangrove, a high ranked official in the Zenith Weapon Company. That company specialized in making weaponry and has made several famous weapons.
Currently he would be missing Nexus from his arsenal, but he had trusty Blob and Shredder, with their new powerups Vincent felt confident. But things always went wrong, that was something he experienced long ago.
He needed a backup plan, one that could save his life. Vincent tapped his fingers together, he had half an hour to think of one.
"Sigh, well simple is best," Vincent grabbed a piece of paper and wrote.
'Iris, Jack.
Should you happen to come back and I'm not here, then I'll be at Artimi doing a quest.
From: Vincent.'
Good enough.
Vincent put the paper on Iris's bed as he ventured towards the large star portal. The star portal was powered by star coins surprisingly. Vincent didn't know that the currency he used all the time was fuel as well.
Vincent walked up to the guard.
"Artimi," Vincent handed him a star coin for fuel.
"Coming up," The guard replied indifferently.
The portal was activated as a binding blue light appeared, Vincent walked through the door after taking a deep breath. Here goes nothing...
When Vincent opened his eyes he saw a large clearing and other portals, there were around two-hundred other people. Everyone looked at the kid.
"Hey, Galaxy Break right?" Jacob nervously walked up.
"Yes," Blunt.
"Where is the rest of your team?" Shredder appeared behind him.
Shredder had a deep crimson color combined with dark gray. His exoskeleton was no longer bulky and large, but it didn't get rid of his physique. The armor was more condensed and compact. There were still six limbs but two were covered by a retractable cape, something Shredder 'borrowed' from a Archbishop of Death. Shredder's head had actual protection, but a majority of his face was still visible. The helmet wasn't a helmet, but cheek guards. His claws were sharper as well, in the small crevasses was a glowing orange shine.
"Ah!" Jacob saw that Shredder was Vincent's subordinate.
"Sorry," Jacob's nervousness seemed to go away.
"Hey," A large man with scars everywhere and a tough expression came up to him.
"Is that thing powerful?" The man asked.
Shredder buzzed softly when it heard 'it'.
He was a king damnit!
Shredder got into a fighting pose as the man smirked. They were both itching for a battle.
"Stop!" Jacob intervened.
The man gave Jacob a cold glare.
"How about you two fight over there? Where nothing can be damaged," Jacob pointed at the space where no one or thing was at.
"Hmph!" The man went over as Shredder followed.
Everyone was looking at the two.
Vincent was a little nervous but he wanted to see what would happen.
"I am Quinn Faction Leader of the Infernal Faction," Quinn told Shredder.
"What is its name?" Quinn turned to Vincent.
But Shredder spoke with a low buzz, "Shredder."
Quinn seemed surprised that Shredder could talk, in fact everyone but Vincent was.
"Then let's fight!" Quinn grabbed the great sword on his back and swung.
Shredder was fast however.
If Quinn was stronger than Shredder and had more BIQ, Shredder was more durable and more speed.
Despite Quinn being able to see where Shredder was about to attack, Shredder was just too fast.
Every time Quinn started to swing towards the area Shredder intended to go to, the insectoid simply reacted too quick and rapidly changed directions.
Shredder sliced at Quinn, Quinn started to lose blood and cuts were appearing all over his skin. He needed to use his unique stat... Jump Force, currently Top-Middle Human.
Quinn leaped into the air as he was now five meters above Shredder. Shredder wasn't done however, as the king ran away from Quinn's landing position and waited for him to fall. Quinn did fall as Shredder tore through the air and landed on Quinn's neck.
"I win," Shredder told Quinn in his ears.
Quinn felt terrified right then, he only felt this when he was about to die to the past guild leader. He only survived because it was training.
Quinn felt to his knees and held his hands up.
His great sword was beside him.
Everyone was shocked, Quinn wasn't the strongest, nor even in the top ten here, but he was better than most of the fighters there. People acknowledged Shredder and Vincent's strength.
As everyone got back to work Jacob requested Vincent and his subordinate to go over and help one of the strongest here. Camila the Green Snake.
"Hello," Vincent greeted her.
"Vincent I presume?" Camila asked with a venomous voice. A habit which why she was called the green snake.
"Yes," Vincent responded indifferently.
"Good, I want you to go with the scouting team there," Camila pointed at a group of five with daggers, "Your subordinate is quite fast, so I'll put you there."
"Copy," Vincent nodded as he walked over.
'He's quite ordinary, but I feel some sort of... ruthlessness? Maybe I shouldn't have put him there,' Camila looked at Vincent's aura which was faint. But somewhere in there was a burning hatred for society.
He would be ruthless, cold, and cruel if needed. That boy was someone Camila didn't want to offend in the future should he survive. Camila gulped at the thought of the future Vincent.
Maybe she should make connections right now...
