192 A Weird Request?

"What? Is there something wrong?" Adam asked and Unohana shook her head.

"It is nothing, you have my gratitude for the tea," She said and took a sip after checking the contents inside the cup.

'He is no ordinary individual after all,' Unohana could now confirm it after she tasted the tea.

It had nothing to do with taste, even if it was great, the very notion of her being able to touch the cup and drink that tea was enough evidence for her.

It was very clear that Unohana wasn't normal, she was in fact not even human, she used to be one at some point, but now she is a soul working as a Shinigami, meaning she wasn't a physical existence.

There were many more like her working within the Gotei 13, and their job was to maintain a balance of the three worlds, at least that was how it was on the surface.

Even Unohana had a different reason for joining them.

'She is really sizing me up,' Adam sighed, Unohana may be silently having her tea, but her calculative eyes have not been off him, not even for a fraction of a second.

It was clear that she loved to fight just from her aura, her eyes were dead set on its target, and it was easy for Adam to spot such people.

'To get such people one after the other….' Adam couldn't help but shake his head internally, first Esdeath and now Unohana, 'but they are quite different from one another.'

Esdeath was like an unruly beast that would brazenly walk around, like a lion that was proud of its power. She was scared of nothing, and that is why she never hid her true intentions. 

Unohana on the other hand was more subdued, silent, and hidden waiting for the proper opportunity like a crocodile in water, the moment her prey gets careless she will bite, and drag them into the deep waters to drown them.

They were both predators, but were very different from one another...

"About the words on the door…" Unohana seemed to have waited long enough and got to the topic on hand, "will you be the one to fulfill my wish?"

"Yes, that is what I do…" Adam said placing the cup down as well, it was finally time for business, "Of course, there are some rules."

'What will she ask for?' Adam was wondering while waiting for Unohana to speak, 'Maybe it will be something good? That kind of gap will be great.' If that were true, she would really be like Esdeath.

"I see," Understanding the situation Unohana asked for what she wanted, "I want a never-ending battle with you." crushing Adam's fantasies in an instant.

"A fight with me?" But there was something else he was more curious about, "wouldn't you like to do that with someone else?"

'Didn't she conclude that I am like... way stronger than her?' It was just as Adam had thought, Unohana had already confirmed him to be stronger than her; she did that as soon as she walked in.

But the reason she still chose to go for him as her opponent was obvious.

"I want to face an opponent that is far stronger than me in an endless battle, so that I can continue to improve my skills further," Unohana had already thought this through, and this was the result she had reached, "It should be possible here, right?"

"Well, if you want to sharpen your skills then, sure I can be your opponent, but you want an endless battle?" Adam asked and Unohana nodded.

"Considering the words on the door and your attitude to my request, you seem to have adequate resources to make this happen," She had thrown that question out as bait to see his reaction.

She had half expected for it to not happen exactly like she wanted, but now it seemed like there was no need to worry about that.

"Well, I can definitely make that happen in a few ways," Adam nodded, there was no need to be that worried about it.

"I suppose the problem comes from the payment needed for it," Unohana spoke while looking at Adam, she knew that he could help her, but there was still something they hadn't spoken about.

'What is it that he needs in return?' Unohana had been thinking about but, 'It is a bit too vague to make a guess.'

Of course, she could just attack him, but she knew it wouldn't lead to what she wanted, 'He should be able to defeat me without problems,' This was just an estimate for now, but she was very certain of her observation.

That is why she wanted to determine her next move after hearing of the price, cause whether or she will move forward with this will depend on that answer.

'Ah, shit, here we go again,' Adam could complain as much as he wanted, but there was no way to escape this.

So what will he do?

"What I get is sex," He finally decided to just embrace it, and deal with what comes afterward.

'I mean that's the best way to deal with this,' This is what he believed.

"Hmm… as in intercourse?" Unohana tilted her head in confusion, of course she knew what it was, but the way they saw it was different.

'Something like that is the price?' She was just surprised for a different reason.

"Yes," Adam nodded trying not to look away from Unohana's unchanging eyes.

"Hmm, looking at your serious expression, it doesn't look like you are trying to fool me," Unohana commented on this weird situation.

"So… what will it be?" Adam asked trying to get this over quickly.

'There is no need to think about something like this,' Unohana thought, she had made up her mind since she had walked into this room, and there was only one thing she wanted to do, 'I want to fight him.'

As someone who wanted to polish her skills and fight stronger opponents, and Adam was the perfect candidate for this, as his strength seemed to be something completely out of her range.

'I will die if I fight him,' Unohana knew it thanks to the Goosebumps all over her body just from the thought of attacking him, 'but what if I can continue to fight him, even if I die multiple times? then… wouldn't I…..' she was getting more excited because of this.

A fight with no end, even if she died, she could just start again, using her blade to thaw away at this large mountain, until she destroyed it with her own hands.

Something like that was a warrior's instinct, and Unohana was very much the personification of that. Nothing else mattered to her than getting a good and satisfying battle. 

"I will accept that," Unohana agreed to it without dragging things out.

"I see, then I'll make the contract," Adam had nothing else to say as well, after all, she had agreed.

What else was there to say?

He didn't even take a minute to make the contract and handed it to her.

"A month-long battle?" Unohana asked as she turned her gaze to Adam, and he nodded.

"Yes,"

"No need to worry about anything… else?" Adam nodded again with a small smile.

"You can fight to your heart's content,"

Unohana had nothing to worry about, not about energy consumption, not about food, not about injuries, not about her weapon breaking, and most importantly not about dying.

All she needed to focus on in that month, was having a battle with Adam, there was no need to think about anything else.

And Unohana will not think about anything else.

"…Splendid" For the first time in a long while, Unohana cracked a smile.

But it wasn't a sweet smile one would expect from someone as beautiful as her, the smile she showed was so crazed that it could frighten even the most fearless of creatures.

She gave off an unbelievable amount of bloodthirst, which was incomparable to her stature. But it couldn't be helped…..

For the first time in her life, Unohana was given the opportunity to go completely unhinged.

She placed her seal on the contract, and the deal was done.

"Then let us begin…" Adam snapped his finger, and in the next second the two of them were in a grassland, it was a plain landscape with nothing but an expanse of Greenland in all directions.

Unohana did not waste a single second, and attacked Adam with her katana.
