Chapter Forty Three
When we got home, it was already evening. The light was dim standing outside. "What happened? I asked going inside, why was it dark, I reached for the light switch and switched it on " Happy Birthday!!!!! I stood in shock and surprise "what.....I turned my back to stare at Emily and Nancy, they were all smiling they knew all along, how could I not even remember my birthday. I turned back to see that the sitting room was decorated beautifully, tears of joy flow down my eyes and I ran into mum arms "Thanks mum, I don't know you would be able to...to do this for ...me I stuttered still in shock. " why do you say so" she asks withdrawing me from her arm and holding my cheeks in her palm "Because I thought am a disappointment and a failure, that you would never love me like before....am because am being a burden to you all..... " Shhhh....mum placed her finger on my mouth "Don't say that again... I admit you made a mistake but that doesn't mean I hate you and won't love you, I still love you so much and you're not a burden, disappointment or a burden but a blessing" she kisses my forehead and hugs me again, I will always love you" I turned to search for dad "he is still angry at me," I asked mum he patted my shoulder "he can't stay angry at you forever" she smiled at me. "Hope you guys had a fun day," aunt said behind my back, I turned to give her a warm hug. "Of course they did well to take me out of the house for a while and also they made my day, fun. Emily and Nancy came to give me a big hug.
My cake was set in front of me and I watched them all as they sang me a happy birthday. While smiling all through " make a wish" mum told me, I silently wish for my baby's happy life before blowing off the candle. Mum gave me a box wrapped so beautifully, I opened it and saw a beautiful knitted baby sweater, my heart melted and warm tears slide down my eyes "it beautiful" I whispered and held it up to my chest "you're making us jealous by doing that" aunt said jokily before handing me a box I slide it open and found a baby spoon and folk and an envelope, I held it up what is this? I asked but she just gave me a gesture to open it, I dropped the box on the table and open the envelope. A visa! I stare at her in shock and turn to mum she just smiles at me and shrugged. "We think traveling with us would be the best, it will make you forget some stuff". "But.....but mum! I turned to stare at my mother " I'll be there if you need me" I glance worriedly at the visa. "We are not trying to push you away or anything, I just think it best for you to be there, to be with a lot of people but.....you still have to make your choice, if you want to leave or not, we would support you all the way. I nodded, without another word Nancy took my hand and slide a silver bangle on hand and kissing my cheeks "happy birthday! And Emily a tiny necklace design beautifully that was meant for the baby. "I know it would be a girl, so keep it for her" she said and hug me.
"Finally! Mum called everyone's attention " we are going to grant you a wish, so tell us what did you wish for" I stare at them all before looking at my finger "Tell us! Emily hipped, I stare at her with a smile. "Um....i...I have only one wish I looked at all of them as they waited patiently for me to say my wish, I don't know what they were expecting me to say but I have to tell them this " I want to tell Sam that he is the father of my unborn child...
