CHAPTER 10: MISTAKEN IDENTITY

I kept walking by so many people. I felt so out of place, and I think this was greatly due to the fact that; I knew almost no one here.

I finished my fifth glass of drink, I couldn't exactly tell what's in it, but it tasted kind of fruity, and bubbly.

My stomach suddenly started doing flips, and I started feeling a little light headed.

I gently excuse myself from the crowd, to the nearest rest room. Maybe I need somewhere quiet to regain myself. I think I need to cool off a bit.

I rested my head on the sink for a few minutes, but it didn't seem to be getting better. So I decided to go find Sam, to request he takes me home.

The stomach upset had subsided a little bit, but the sensation of pounding in my head kept getting worse.

The feeling of nausea attacked me like arrows being shot at an enemy on a battle ground, and my vision became a little blurry.

I began to make my way out, but my steps were not as firm as they should have been on the ground, but I was determined to find Sam.

Just as I got out, some guy stopped me, and started saying things that I couldn't even properly respond to at the moment.

"After all I did for you. You think you can just run off with someone else and I would let you go. You are in for something else you little shit"

But amidst all he said, I could tell that he had most likely mistaken me for someone else.

He grabbed me by the arm, and tried to pull me closer, I could hardly resist. I struggled but it was to no avail. He ended up pinching my arm as he held it in his.

"Let go of me" I managed to mutter out in that condition. He seemed to squint his eyes at me, but my vision was already so blurry, and I could hardly tell what he was doing.

"You're not her" I thought he was going to let me go after that, but I was wrong. He held me even closer, and tighter.

"I'll be sure to make you pay for all she did. Girls like you are all the same." I managed some strength, and pulled my hand away from his.

I left him behind, and kept walking animatedly to anywhere but here.

He followed me, and stopped. When he grabbed my hand this time around, I no longer had any strength to push back, so I just stood there watching.

"Jessica is that you?" It was then I heard a voice, and it sounded really familiar. Could that really be Sam? When I turned, he was actually the one. Thank Goodness, I breathed out in relief.

BASSAM'S POV

For some reason, I felt excited about this afternoon, and that had nothing to do with the fact that I'd be attending a house party. For one I think I'll be having a whole lot of fun pissing off Essi.

I don't even know why I invited her. Well I guess I just felt pity for her because she would be lonely in that big palace, with no one to talk to, especially since the project we came for, was regrettably delayed by a few days.

I check my watch, and realize that I just have fifteen minutes to get to the house. I pick everything I need, and head out.

Twelve had just reached, as I entered into the Palace.

She might not even be ready yet, seeing as she always keeps me waiting. I wonder how she effectively does business with that tardiness of hers, I think to myself.

My expectations were surpassed, as soon as I spotted her, and the maid standing outside the front. She looked rather beautiful I must say.

As soon as I stepped down, the maid curtsied and said "Welcome your highness, I did as you asked"

"Thank you, you may leave" I dismissed her. I was left with Essi but then I noticed she seemed rather shaken, like something was wrong with her.

"You seem a little startled, is everything okay? I asked her.

"Y..es, why wouldn't I be" she replied. I looked with a little skepticism. Essi never stutters, but then I brushed the whole thing away, not wanting to keep us standing any further.

"I can see you're quite on time today. You've sobered up a little, I should find more ways to make you as compliant as this," I gave her a once over "we should take our leave" I gestured towards the car.

We were already headed for the event, when she spoke up in the car. "Where are we headed?"

"You'll see" I said dismissively. I guess I didn't want to go through the details just yet. For the remaining of the ride, she didn't bother me, and I was glad.

Finally, we arrived at the residence of the party. These people were really important to me, that's why I had to make time out of my rather hectic schedule to attend.

They are renowned business tycoons and part of my close business circle.

As soon as we got down, we were showed the way in. we were approached by a few people, and just then I could spot a familiar face; the wife of my friend, and host of the party Raiyah Hashem.

"Greetings your highness, it's so wonderful to have you" she said with a beaming smile.

"Thank you Raiyah Hashem, I take it you've been well" I returned the equally bright smile.

"Sure, please follow me" she led us away.

We headed towards the terrace of the house, and we were headed for the back where they hosted most of their parties. I could see a lot of people had arrived already. I was still scouting the area, when I heard my name from behind.

"Prince Bassam" when I turned, it was Jafar Hashem; my friend. He signaled for me to come over.

Immediately, I strode over to him, and a group of men in suit
