First Meeting 3

"Everything is happening because my friend betrayed me. I don't know why she did it. If it weren't for her, I wouldn't be in this situation," Daisy responded.

"Betrayed by your own best friend? It seems you're not alone," Kevin replied.

"Did your best friend betray you as well?" Daisy inquired.

"Yes, when I was young," Kevin answered. "I am an orphan who grew up in an orphanage. I was friends with one of the boys in the orphanage, and we went to the same school."

-Flashback-

"Wow, I want to be like them. They are so cool. I wish I could join them," Young Kevin's friend said to him.

"But they always look down on people like us," Young Kevin explained.

"Yeah, you are right," Young Kevin's friend agreed, feeling disappointed after remembering how they made fun of him and Kevin.

Both of them walked to the orphanage silently.

After a few days, Young Kevin was waiting for his friend outside of the school. Recently, his friend hasn't talked to him like he used to.

Young Kevin saw his friend walking with a smile, so he approached him to ask if they could go to the orphanage together.

"Let's go home together," Young Kevin said, startling his friend.

"Uh, the teacher called me to visit him after classes. You can go; I will come later," his friend replied.

Young Kevin felt that something was wrong with his friend. He watched his friend walk away from him. Young Kevin decided to follow him, wanting to know why he was behaving like this.

He saw his friend walking towards the cool kids' group. They were talking to him and saying something. Kevin didn't think much of it and walked away.

It went on for a few more days. Young Kevin's friend wasn't speaking to him at all; he would always avoid Kevin, spending his time with his new friends. Kevin was starting to feel lonely.

"Kevin, the principal wants to see you," the teacher informed him.

Kevin made his way to the principal's office and found his friend standing with his new friends. The principal is looking at all of them with a serious expression.

"Kevin, I've heard that you injured one of the students yesterday," the principal questioned.

Kevin couldn't understand what she was referring to. When did he injure someone?

"I didn't harm anyone," Kevin replied earnestly.

"No, I witnessed him injuring Jayden," Kevin's friend said.

The other students agreed with his statement. Young Kevin was stunned by hearing this. His best friend was falsely blaming him for something he hadn't done.

"There are plenty of witnesses, Kevin. There's no use in denying it. This is against the school's rules. You will be punished..." Kevin couldn't make out the rest of the principal's words. He couldn't process the fact that his own best friend had falsely accused him.

The news spread throughout the school, and rumors circulated that he was involved in a local gang and enjoyed fighting and harming others. Everyone spoke ill of Kevin behind his back.

"Oh God, isn't that Kevin? I heard he was part of a local gang; it's best to stay away from him," one voice said.

"I heard he injured a few students. How is he still allowed in school?" Another voice added.

Kevin left the school and spotted Mr. Harry waiting for him, but he walked away. He didn't want to engage with anyone. Mr. Harry was perplexed by Kevin's behavior since he usually ran towards him with excitement.

"Did something happen?" Mr. Harry pondered. He noticed a few boys happily laughing, mentioning something about Kevin.

Kevin walked in silence. Even his friends from his orphanage didn't believe him. He still doesn't know why his own best friend did this to him.

-Flashback ends-

Daisy still can't understand why you'd want to betray your own best friend. She doesn't know why Lucy wanted to betray her. Was she a bad friend to her?

"What happened next?" Daisy asked.

"Our principal somehow found out that those people were framing me for something I didn't do. So she punished all of them, but everyone shifted the blame onto my friend, saying he was the one who coerced others to say those things about me," Kevin replied.

"Oh, did you meet him after everything?" Daisy asked.

"He did come to me later. He wanted me to clear his name," Kevin answered.

"Oh, did you forgive your friend?," Daisy asked.

"No. I refused to help," Kevin stated.

"But your friend was also framed, right?" Daisy asked.

"True. He didn't care about his best friend when he accused me. He didn't care about our friendship. He was fine with accusing me because he wanted to be part of that group. Would he come back if the accusation against me is cleared? Why should I be concerned about a person who doesn't care about me? It's his own problem, so I didn't care," Kevin replied.

"But wasn't he your best friend, the one you grew up with?" Daisy questioned.

"Yes, that's correct. But would you falsely accuse your own friend just to look cool in front of others? There was no point in holding onto the friendship when the other person didn't value it. If I forgive him, he'll do it again," Kevin replied.

This was also the reason he didn't want to hold onto Jenny when he knew she betrayed him. He had no reason to beg her when she didn't care about his love. It was better this way, or else things would be harder for him in the future if he were still with Jenny.
