In the City of Crime, one law stands above them all: Only the strongest can live. Fighting is normal, extortion is common, and death is inevitable. Born into a wealthy family yet forced to live in poverty, Kanae Nali vowed to become strong enough to take back what rightfully belonged to her—even if it meant that she had to face the consequences and brave the dangers lurking in every corner. Yet on the outside, just like her mysterious peers, she was no different from the other high school students living their lives to the fullest. “Under the ray of light, my ability will only make me die faster. Under the veil of night, my ability allows me to survive longer.” ____ Story set in fictional city. Any similarities with real world's event is purely coincidence. Looking at the gleam in Kanae's eyes, Kevin chuckled. Ever since a long time ago, Kanae has always loved to eat. It was no different this time too, as she would still prefer to eat even during a party.
"It'll do no good to eat too much, so let's just take some cakes and we'll walk out to the verandah."
"That's a good idea."
The two of them walked to the dessert table and took several cakes before they walked out to the verandah. The party itself would still take some time before it would end, so they didn't have to worry. Since they had already met almost everyone that they needed to talk with, they could stay out for as long as they wanted.

"It's good," Kanae commented after she had swallowed the piece of cake.
Kevin nodded. "Do you plan to try baking cake again?"
