25. Now repeat after me

"Tara you can use your powers only when I'm with you, the same goes for me." Christoph explained.

"How did this happen? " Gideon asked while I was trying to understand the situation. I didn't know if I could handle it anymore.

" I can't tell you." Christoph answered this time anxious.

"Why can't you tell? You are hidding something. And we're supposed to believe you?!" Gide raised his voice.

Christoph ignored him and stood in front of me.

" Tara I can't tell you anything about our past. I don't want you to remember it, but I will help you to master your powers."

"You can't just come here and ask for her to believe you! You are hidding something, what happened, what did you do to her?!" Gideon intervened again.

I couldn't speak.

Was this really happening? Maybe I was having a nightmare, yeah. I pinched myself in the arm to wake up. But nothing.

" Because she had a painful death. Because she suffered so much that I can't bare to see her again that hurt. If she remembers she will be again in pain, she wont be the same Tara that you see now. You will not be able to recognize her."

Christoph yelled to Gideon, they were standing in front of each other, looking at each other with anger and desperation.

They were speaking about me, but I felt like they were talking about someone else's life, someone I didn't even know.

"How did I die?"

I was able to speak finally through my tears. They both looked at me, Gideon rushed to hug me while Christoph covered his face with his hands exhaling.

"Don't , please don't do this to yourself. You made me promise to you when you gave your last breath to never allow you to remember that life. You never wanted to experience that pain again. I am really sorry, but I promised you. I can't let you experience again that pain. "

Tears filled his eyes.

I almost forgot that Gideon was hugging me only when I felt him wiping my tears away.

"I'm ok." I pushed Gideon lightly to get away from me.

"I don't believe you. I know you are hidding something. " Gideon spoke again.

" I don't have to give you explanations. " Christoph answered tired.

" But you have , I wont let this go easily." Gideon threatened him.

"Can't you see her condition? You only want her to remember you, but you forget the other part of her life without you. If she remembers, she will remember all. Don't you care about her pain?"

"Oh I have lived so long that I learnt to have doubts about anyone and everything. If you recently learnt who you are, I have known myself and people through all their reincarnations. I don't believe you."

"Well I don't care. I only care about Tara. I don't want to hurt her."

"If you have mastered your powers as you say, you must know there is a way for me to learn without hurting her."

"I don't know what you mean."

"Give me your hand."

"Why ?"

"You know why."

"No!" Christoph yelled.

"Will you both stop?! I am here and you decide about me. I am the one who has to decide If I want to remember or not." I intervened and finally I got their attention.

Then Gideon ignored me again by taking Christoph's arm rudely.

"I said no!" Christoph tried to pull his arm back.

"I am stronger and wiser than you fairy boy. Now we can do this the easy way with your cooperation or the hard way." Gideon threatened him again.

" Try me." Christoph dared Gide trying to pull his arm but in vain, Gide was stronger than him.

" Abating sy tell jet." Gideon whispered something incomprehensible. After that Christoph convinced to every order he gave to him.

"Look me in the eye. Now repeat after me: ' I Skansi hap dye e kujti per tyr'. "

" I Skansi hap dye e kujti per tyr" . Christoph repeated after him. I couldn't understand a damn word of what they said.

They remained in front of me looking at each other, or rather Gide was looking into his eyes. Christoph wasn't conscious. Gide was holding his hand, they both had a blank expression on their faces until they both fell on their knees breathing for air. Skansi couldn't stop coughing, while Gideon was breathing with difficulty.

"What happened? What did you do? "

I asked Gide but none of them dared to look at me. Then Gide got up and started walking away from us ignoring me .

"What is his matter? What did he do to you?" I approached to Christoph helping him to stand up.

"He deceived me. Made me show him the memories of my past life."

"What did he see? Why is he acting weird?"

"I'm sorry I can't tell you. Can we go join to the others?"

"And I thought I was the crazy one." I exhaled while we walked back to join Franklin and the rest.
