Unbreakable love: Only one I love

Alex had one goal in life to make enough money so she could give her mother a comfortable life. But her efforts always seemed less fruitful even with her adoptive father and step-sister by her side. "Am not crying, just got something in my eye " Alex sniffed. "Am sorry, here is something that might help" the stranger said passing his handkerchief. "Thank you," she said taking it. After wiping the falling tears she turned to look at the stranger. His long brown hair was moving with the breeze around him as his dark orbs stared down at her. He bent down took his hankie and gently wiped the still falling tears from her eyes, "you missed a spot" he smiled. She smiled remembering that night, it was the day she had met him. Nathan Livingston. The man who claimed to only have eyes for her and soon had proved it.

Wait.

"Should we head back to the company?" Roy asked Alex.

She glanced at him through her tears, "No, didn't think I can face anyone right now"

"Okay," he said starting the car.

She leaned back trying to control her tears but her scrambling body failed at it. A lot was going on in her mind as she tried to piece it together. Now she knew why her stepmother didn't appear at the hospital or care during the funeral. Holding her hands together tightly she controlled her breathing.

The car finally stopped, "We are here"Roy said. Alex looked out to see they were at Nathan's parents' home.

"Ahh, but.." she said.

"Since you don't want to see the boss and your in that state I thought that maybe seeing your mother would be better," he said turning to her." I hope it's okay "

She scoffed with a smile, "Yes it is" Pushing the door open Alex walk straight into the house.

Her mother was in the kitchen with Nathan's father making cookies. She heard their voices and smiled wiping her tears.

"Mom, Dad" she called walking in. They looked up to see her walk in.

"Honey, you here" her mother smiled. She nodded moving closer to them.

"Did anything happen, I thought you were spending the day with Nathan?" George asked.

"Everything is fine Dad, just got tired of work & decided to come to see you both" she smiled.

They glanced at each other noticing her still-stained tears. Her mother moved to the sink washing her hands. Then moved back to her.

"Okay, then can I have a hug, it's been so long since I held you," she said.

Alex fell into her mother's arms holding her tightly. Her mother chuckled, "Is everything really okay, sweetheart" she asked holding her daughter.

"Yes, I just missed you" Alex cried.

Her mother sighed glancing at Nathan's father.

He moved closer to them, "Did something happen between you and Nathan?" he asked.

"No, I just missed you both" she answered through her tears.

Nathan's father smiled and joined in on the hug, "If that's the case then let me join in" he said.

Alex and her mother smiled as they all hugged.

.....

"Where is she now?" Nathan asked Roy.

"I took her to your father's home. Since she didn't want to come back here" he answered.

"Okay, now we need to deal with that woman and her daughter," he said.

Roy flinched, "Boss, why don't we wait, we still haven't got all the information from the daughter".

Nathan sighed, "I listened to you that last time and waited and now see what happened. Alex has hurt again, right after gaining her smile back".

"But it was about to happen, she was supposed to find out sooner or later. I know her sister didn't prepare her for that but....." Nathan stopped him.

"Her mother is the problem I know and Alex we'll still find out even after taking her down. But the longer we take the more it will hurt her deeper. So you better do whatever you want to before I put my plan into action"
