Real Family

"If she wants to stay with us, she can," Jonathan said.

"We finally got her back & she's the only grandchild of this family so she needs to be back here with us," Jonny said.

Nathan sighed, "Now I see why you are a bunch of fools" the two men frowned... "You two idiots are forgetting Alex is grown up now, has a life and can make her own decisions. You don't possibly believe she will drop everything just because you asked. She just got to know you and needs time to adjust to all of this"

"But we are her family too and deserve to be with her," Jonathan said.

"I know but to her your relatives by blood, not family. She has grown up somewhere else in a different environment and family. So turning to a family will take time, don't rush it" said Nathan.

"But I want to spend time with her too, it's not fair that the ma who kidnapped her, took her from us & killed her father is seen as family & we are not" sniffed Jonny.

Nathan glared at the two, "Have you two heard anything I have said or not? He might have kidnapped her to you but he still saved her life, loved her as his own and protected her from his wife which lead to his death"

"He deserved it," both men said.

Nathan sighed, "Just please don't force my girlfriend into anything she doesn't want or I won't hesitate to turn into your enemy"

"Huh, you love her that much and all along we thought you were stone cold" Jonathan & Jonny laughed

He glared and got up when he heard Alex and her grandparents walk in.

"How was it?" he asked, they wherein the car driving home.

She smiled, "Okay".

"Am glad it went okay, what did that crazy couple tell you?" he asked.

"Crazy? you mean my grandparents" she giggled.

"Mmm"

Alex laughed, "They are crazy and I loved them".

"And the two idiots?" he asked

Alex laughed even more knowing who meant this time.

"Both great, a little too much but it was warm and fun knowing them" she smiled.

"Okay"... "Did they ask you anything about staying with them?" he asked.

Alex looked away at the window, "Yes, they did".

"And?".

"And I said yes" she let out.

"HUH?!" Nathan turned to her.

Jonathan laughed, "We finally won over that cold-blooded man"

"How did you do it, Dad?" asked Jonny.

"We asked her if she would like to come to stay with us for a few days so we could know her & she agreed" he answered.

"She's such a sweet soul just like her mother" their mother said.

"So when is she coming?" the two brothers said.

"It's only for a few weeks, I need to get I know them, Nathan," said Alex.

"I know but that... that..".

She held his hand, "I know it seems like am rushing but they also deserve to know who I am, they are my real family and I want to know them too, to know who my real father was and how amazing my real mother was"

He sighed, "Alex I don't want you to rush into decisions am just worried about you that all. They might be your family but remember who they are too, it won't be that easy to adjust in a domain you have never been before"

"I know but no matter what they remain real family so I can't escape that fate of being involved with them in any way possible. So please just let me do this"
