Alex yawned the second time, since dinner. She was busy on his laptop trying to look for new jobs. Nathan sighed walking to her again and bending down to her, "Alex, I think it's time you go to bed with me" he said.

She turned to him and he flinched, her dark circles and red eyes scared him a little. Her pale face made him more worried but she plastered a smile on her blinking, "Am almost done, but you can go ahead I will be there shortly"

He breathed, "But..." Alex stopped him. "Don't worry I won't take long"

He walked back to his seat and watched her, it had been like that for days since they returned. After finding out that even her job at the company wasn't there anymore all she kept doing was searching for jobs and going for long exhausting interviews. He had offered to help but she objected, claiming to stay with them was already enough help to her and her mother.

They had returned to his apartment and even she was busy with more searching.

A few minutes later he looked up from his phone glancing at where she was. He frowned getting up, she had fallen asleep while still working.

He gently held her closing the laptop and taking away her glasses then carried her up the stairs.

He laid down next to her. Pulling the covers over them. He smiled watching her sleeping his hand moved to touch her face. Her lashes fluttered and he froze.

"Dad, Dad...." she muttered. He blinked not moving. Alex shifted in her sleep groaning, "I miss you" she cried.

Nathan moved closer to her, "Shhh, don't cry" he whispered.

She cried even more, her tears flowing now, "Am... Am sorry Dad, I wasn't strong enough to fight her" Nathan heard her say.

"It's okay Alex, you don't have to cry," he said caressing her.

"Am sorry Dad, am so so so sorry...am so lonely and broken it keeps hurting everytime I think about you" ." she cried.

He frowned pulling her into his arms, "It's okay love, am here for you. You have me "

Alex changed positions wrapping her arms around him, her head nesting in his warm chest.

"Thank you "she sniffed

He kissed her forehead," It a alright don't cry, just go to sleep "his voice was calm and gentle. Alex's sobs slowly stopped until she drowned back to sleep.

He fell asleep holding her.

Alex woke up to find herself wrapped in Nathan's arms. She frowned trying to move but he would not let go.

All she remembered was trying to send in her last CV to the last available company online. She must have fallen asleep and with her laying next to Nathan, he must have carried her to be.

She sighed gazing at him, peacefully sleeping. He had wanted to help but it was enough with him and his father helping them with places you stay. He was genuinely worried for her and it made her wonder how much he loved her.

"Why do you love me so much "she muttered gently touching his lips.
