"Hello, Dad"

Nathan had cried his eyes out in Alex's arms. She had gently held him until his sobs quietly and his hold loosened on her waist.

"Nathan" she called.

"Mmm," he answered.

"Why don't we go lay down," she said.

He pulled away his tear-stained face came into view. She wiped his falling tears, "Come on, follow me" she said.

Nathan followed her up to her room where she made him lie down and got next to him. He moved to hold her, Alex's fingers moved through his hair gradually putting him to sleep.

She sighed looking down at his now sleeping face.

"Your act okay and worry about me when you yourself are holding so much pain inside" she pecked his forehead.

She heard his phone ringing in the living room. Carefully she pulled away and headed back to the living room.

Becca was calling him.

"It must be important, but his sleeping now" she muttered to herself.

She decided to pick it up, "Hello, Becca"

"Oh, is that you Miss White?" Becca answered.

"Yes it is, am sorry but Nathan is asleep now if it's not important can you call back later," she said.

"Okay, am sorry I bothered you both, " Becca said.

"It's fine you didn't "

"Okay I will be hanging up now, have a goodnight," Becca said.

"You too Becca"

Alex placed down his phone but it rang again this time it was his father video calling him.

She panicked, "What should I do" walking to the stairs to take the sleeping Nathan the phone she accidentally picked up.

"Hi, son, "his father's voice said.

She froze and slowly pulled the phone up to her face.

"Hello Dad" she smiled.

"Hello," he smiled back at her.

She walked back to the living room.

"Alex is it," his father said.

Her eyes widened and he laughed, "My son told me about you"

"Am sorry but his sleeping right now" she replied

"It's alright I can talk to you instead," he said.

"Me?" Alex sat down.

"Yes, Nathan has been only talking about you since he saw you and every time I got curious to meet who this Alex was, so this is my chance," he said.

"What did he say about me?" she asked.

"That your very beautiful which I can see for myself now"

"Thank you, father" she smiled.

"So how is my son treating you, I hope his not rushing his feelings on you," he asked.

She giggled, "No he not, Nathan is so understanding and gentle that am worried I might not be worthy of his feelings "

"What do you mean? " he asked

"This is my first relationship so I don't know what am supposed to be doing while he seemed to be having it in his control. What if am not what he thinks "she let out.

"My son has been so reserved that it was so hard to even set him up with anyone, but after he saw you he changed. His so determined on liking you that his whole world is now colourful and trust he doesn't expect anything from you apart from falling for him ".

" So don't think like that, you are both so young and need to experience everything good in this world. Your life won't rotate on work only you need to have time to let your heart experience other things and feelings".

"Thank you, Dad," she said.

"Anything to get a smile from the woman making my son act crazy in love"

She laughed. "So tell me about yourself," he said.

She didn't know how long they talked but when he finally said goodbye she had told him a lot about herself and he had disclosed a lot about his son's crush on her.

She has wanted to ask about his sister but is held back. She turned when she heard steps down the stairs.

Nathan walked in yawning, "What are you doing, come join me in bed"

She got up and walked to him, "Sorry I was talking to someone on the phone and didn't want to wake you up"

He bent down carrying her in his arms, "If you're done then let's go back to bed" he said. She held onto him nodding.
