Chapter 401: New identity!

Duan Li returned to the Jixue Knights academy and reported everything to Bian Tianyu, the Principal in the latter's office.

"I see.. so your mother and aunt was taken to the Doulou Empire in the end..." the Principal cupped his chin in deep contemplation before he glanced to look at the troubled expression of both Princess Meixiu and Elder Cheng Chao behind Duan Li. As the two did not say anything, he garnered that such an event was also beyond their knowledge, so it would be useless to try and blame them.

Moreover, not only that such actions would be counterproductive, the other party might even feel indignant and offended. However, it was also true that he needed to provide a solution to this matter, especially when it was a matter involving Duan Li, their Imperial Overseer.

Therefore, the Principal turned to look at Zhang Xi, the Vice-principal for the latter's suggestion.

"What do you think?" he asked.

Zhang Xi closed his eyes while sipping his favorite tea slowly, indulging in its taste before answering, "Well, the way I see it, his Excellency can just directly approach the Doulou Emperor and demand the latter to solve this issue. After all, with their resources, it wouldn't be beyond them to accomplish it."

When Princess Meixiu and Elder Cheng Chao heard this, their face turned awful and it seemed like they wanted to shout and beat him up until he look nothing more than like a dirty peasant by the streets!

That's the Doulou Emperor dammit, and this fellow dared to utter such things in that manner?

Had this been the Doulou Empire, we would've already signed your death sentence on the spot! Hmph!

At the same time however, they also understood from Zhang Xi's perspective. Since the problem had entered the Doulou Empire already, it makes sense for their Emperor to directly intervene in order to resolve this issue.

It was only appropriate.

This was because the people kidnapped were related with the Jiu's Imperial Overseer, and telling somebody else to handle it could indirectly be translated as slighting the Imperial Overseer, which wouldn't be a good idea knowing how vicious the other party could be if offended.

Knowing what the Princess and her servant was thinking by looking at their dark expression, the Vice-principal smiled meaningfully.

"Despite me being a little disrespectful mentioning their Emperor like that, they still remained silent.. this just went on to show that they are entirely unrelated to the kidnapping.." he said telepathically to the Principal. He was just testing the two of them on how they would react.

Had they refuted, that would be weird considering that they should feel guilty about it. Also, if they didn't show any reaction at all, then that would be even weirder and suspicious! While it wouldn't prove anything, he would have trouble trusting their words.

"That seems to be the case, but you shouldn't go overboard.. that's their Emperor we are talking here and anymore than this would be treated as utter disrespect and will probably turn them hostile on us.." the Principal replied with a twitching brow, feeling worried.

After all, hierarchy and propriety in the world were the most important values imparted to all of them since birth. If anyone were to blatantly disregard such things, then it wouldn't be anyone's fault but theirs if others decided to harm them for good.

Nodding to each other, the Vice-principal and the Principal made a decision to convene and forward the issue to the Emperor for further action and that Duan Li would have to wait for a while for their replies. Meanwhile, they were now dismissed. Duan Li then tried to invite the people from the Doulou Empire to stay in the capital for a few days because he had some lingering questions in his mind.

Unfortunately, Princess Meixiu has been away from the Doulou Empire for far too long this time around, so in order to avoid trouble, they had to return immediately. At least, that was what they told to Duan Li.

Similarly, Zhang Liao and Lu Bu also bid their farewells to Duan Li to return to the Wei and Qin Empire respectively. It appears that they also needed to settle some problems of their own.

Returning to his residence court, everyone decided to cultivate and increase their cultivation levels, preparing for any possibilities that they had to fight in the future again. Honestly, they felt useless when they were around their lord and this motivates them to become stronger so in the future, they could be more useful to Duan Li.

"Your Excellency, I can sense that your residence court are being watched. Shall I dispose of them immediately?" Elder Lin, the Elder Lich that Utmost Being forcefully slapped into submission before said with an evil cackle.

"Don't mind them. Although the increase in eyes watching my residence court is probably due to your presence. After all, its weird that an evil being like you is following me. As long as they don't have any other ideas, its fine to leave them alone I guess." Duan Li replied lazily as he took out several items from his spatial ring.

"Eh, those people are truly blind. The world operates based on the balance of Yin and Yang. Just because I follow the path of evil, I'm still a cultivator like them. I truly don't understand their prejudiced and biased perspectives." Elder Lin sighed and complained.

Throughout his countless years of experience, he always encountered this sorts of problem anywhere he went to, even without doing any evil deed. This was the reason why he secluded himself in the ruins of the Empyrean capital before it was laid to waste by the Imperial Overseer's clone.

After Duan Li's previous activity of forging weapons was known by the Emperor, the latter instructed some people to do renovation to Duan Li's residence, so now Duan Li has a proper large room with smithing tools and the other essentials.

"If I remember correctly, this thing called the armor of Exodia has an infinite weight, making it impossible to lift. However, what I'm interested to know is that if its really true that it cannot be integrated with other materials.."

Right now, Duan Li has a total of three parts of the armor; the left arm, right arm and left foot which were currently shaped into a square cuboid alloy each. Apparantly, if he collected the right foot and finally the upper torso body, the armor would be completed and he could unlock a very powerful armor, but before then, they were entirely useless on their own.

Since lifting the three cuboids was impossible, Duan Li had to use his understanding of spatial knowledge to wrap them in an entirely different space, which is the void of vacuum. Unfortunately, he wasn't able to succeed in moving it as the entire space collapsed due to the cuboids generating an extremely powerful gravity.

"That's weird, if I try to make a different space to move them, it collapses. Then why is the Tian continent still standing?" Duan Li scratched his head in frustration. He was also curious how his spatial ring was able to store the cuboids so effortlessly without destroying the space inside.

The mysterious pearls sure are formidable...

"Aiya what the heck, I'll just try hammering it then! Give me the hammer over there!" Duan Li said to Elder Lin.

"This one?" Elder Lin lifted the Golden God Hammer with one hand effortlessly and passed it to him, which surprised Duan Li.

His physical strength should be quite monstrous for him to be able to lift the hammer like that... as expected of an old monster!

Placing the All-Enduring Anvil on the opposite side of one of the cuboid, as it was required in order to temper anything using the Golden God Hammer so that the earth and ground would not shatter, Duan Li awkwardly lifted the hammer with his right hand and smashed it like he was banging a gong.

BANGGG!!

All the windows were shattered and Elder Lin was also blowned away from the resulting impact!

"What a strong reaction!" Duan Li widened his eyes feeling shocked, as he could even feel the Golden God Hammer almost slipping away from his grip from the repulsion!

"Oh? I see a slight dent there? Is it possible after all? Could the Mirealithian that told me it was impossible to temper this into anything else be wrong?" Duan Li said.

"Hahaha! Of course Young Master! All these forging equipments are the best of the best! Such that even the heavens had forbid its existence for it being too overpowered! What infinite weight and all that cr*p? In front of the tools made by the Old Master, they are nothing but scrap of metals ready to be pounded harshly on! Yahahahaha! Scream you foolish metal, scream!" Little sword dangling on his right earlobe laughed out loud feeling proud.

BANGG!! BANGG!!

Duan Li continued tempering the cuboids after creating an isolation barrier to prevent the impacts from further destroying his house. He didn't know what to expect after a thousand hammerings, but he was excited to see its result!

Meanwhile, in the deepest part of a dungeon somewhere in the Jiu Empire, Zeng Jianshi was still trapped and immobilized by Duan Li's tens of suppression formation and his appearance had become haggard as his black robe was now in tatters.

"Release me this instant you vile insects! Even your Imperial Overseer dared not treat me this way! Are you all tired of living?!" he shouted out loud angrily.

Jiu Xian Ping, the Emperor of the Jiu Empire was currently discussing methods of torture with both of his close aides; the managing director of the Jiu Bank, Liu Sheng Juan, and the Supreme Knight, Fei Jin Fang.

"Your Majesty, we've tried everything but he still won't give us any information about the whereabouts of Meng Yue and her sister, Meng Siyi, other than what we already know." Fei Jin Fang explained respectfully.

"Indeed, his answer is always the same, saying that he needs to go to the Doulou Empire with Duan Li- I mean his Excellency the Imperial Overseer as without him, the location will never be disclosed and that the kidnapped people might even be killed!" Liu Sheng Juan said hatefully as he threw another fist art to Zeng Jianshi's face.

"Ahhh!! Damn you! I'll kill you and your entire family!" Zeng Jianshi screamed at the top of his lungs.

He never expected to be treated in such a harsh manner as a prisoner. Knowing his status, he questioned why they weren't afraid of him retaliating for the abuse he received when he become free in the future.

"What a fool. You think you can live after kidnapping his mother and aunt? Had you witnessed what we've seen, you probably would earnestly try to turn a new leaf and repent." the Emperor snorted in disdain.

The fellow you are messing with is someone with a future to change destiny itself!

"Your Majesty, since we can't do anything much, why not just let him go to the Doulou Empire then? I don't think anyone could threaten his life unless incidents like during his coronation happened again." Fei Jin Fang expressed his opinion.

"Knowing him... I'm more afraid that the Doulou Empire would become history, you should be aware of this!" the Emperor sighed helplessly.

Fei Jin Fang scratched his head, also feeling the same way when he thought about it.

"Why not let him disguise himself as our envoy then? From what I've heard from my brother, Liu Sheng Duhai , the advisor of her Majesty Liu Empress, his Excellency seems to prefer being a low profile person. This would make him not act too brazen with such an identity..." Liu Sheng Juan said.

"Leading the Elite Extermination Knights of the royal Liu Clan you mean? "..." the three of them could imagine the chaos Duan Li would create which made them sigh at the same time.
