Dan sighed, That could have gone much worse. So much more remaining low-key, I guess that I'll have to start taking my strength and fitness training more seriously. Thankfully, the system has started adapting my body for the use of Eldritch Energy, that must be whatever The Ancient One was using. I'll have to ask her about the Sling Ring next time, it probably isn't a good idea to start messing with it.
Dan turned back, and started to head back towards the stairs. He'd have work as usual the following day, and he wanted to avoid any more weirdness if he could help it. Dan was just about to walk up the stairs, when he heard a loud thumping at the door. At this time of night? He walked towards the main doors, and looked out. There was big man waiting outside, not fat, more muscly than anything else.
Dan quickly pulled up the man's information window.

Great, just great! They just keep crawling out of the woodworks, it's a good thing I didn't decide to ignore him. Dan unlocked the door, never taking his eyes off the man. He carefully opened the door, "Hello, can I help you?"
Dan cringed internally at that. Nick didn't seem to mind however, he seemed relieved, it seemed that he didn't consider Dan to be an immediate threat. "Sorry to bother you, my name is Nick Fury. I was wondering whether you saw anything weird happen around here in the last few minutes."
Nick gave Dan his card, which had his details, along with Strategic Homeland Intervention, Enforcement and Logistics Division below that.
Dan decided that it was best to be honest, he's probably heard of The Ancient One. "Unless you mean, a bald woman making a weird portal nearby into this room here, and talking about anomalies, then no. Nothing weird has happened apart from that."
Nick's demeanour changed from relaxed to serious in a heartbeat. "A portal you say? That's a new one, what did it look like?"
"It's like a glowing, circular doorway that just pops up in thin air. She does this thing with her hands and this portal-looking thing shows up, all green and gold, and then she steps right through it. It's like some kind of magic door or something. Oh yeah, she also left this ring behind, I'm not really sure what it's for though."
Dan brought out the Sling Ring, pretending to take it out of his pocket. He handed it to the man, "Something tells me that it's not a good idea to withhold anything from you, so I hope that this will be useful."
I really don't want to give it away, but I don't have much choice right now, I'll just have to remain friendly with him. Nick took the ring gingerly, and carefully looked at it. "Alright, we'll probably be seeing each other again soon. Thank you for your cooperation, what was your name again?"
"Dan."
"Well, I wish you a pleasant evening Dan."
With that, Nick Fury walked away and entered a Black SUV, which silently drove away. Dan quickly closed the door, and quickly ascended the stairs before anyone else appeared. He didn't see Andrei or any of the others so he quietly entered his apartment, showered, and quickly got ready for bed. He fell asleep immediately after lying down on his bed.
He woke up to the sound of his alarm, he yawned before turning it off. What a weird night.

Dan was already dressed for work by now, he quickly ate breakfast and hurried down the stairs, his taxi was waiting for him already. Carlson waved to him, "Hey Dan, this'll probably be one of the last times I'll be driving you to work, I hear that the agency is preparing a car for you."
Dan froze when he heard this, they'd already started heading towards The Front Line.
"A car you say? Now that's interesting, I didn't expect them to go that far!"
"Me neither, also, there's a special someone waiting at work for you today, I'm not allowed to tell you who it is though."
"A surprise visitor, I look forward to meeting them."
As they pulled up to the main entrance, Angela was already waiting outside, along with a man that Dan already knew, who didn't. "Holy sh*t! Is that Tony Stark?"
