3 my beginning

Following week Alicia brought someone and introduced her as Niomi. Niomi had tasted my goodies at Alicia's party and wanted to give me an order. Her office is holding a conference and she wanted me to cater some items. She told me her requirements and that was a lot especially for a home cook like me. My oven was a simple one, I tried to refuse but she insisted and was even ready to pay me some advance which I thought was enough for buying a new commercial oven, with the ingredients. I started writing requirements for the order , and made some space for the new oven. I searched online on my phone about various brands, their prices and their offers. I made up my mind ,after Sarah and Dew got home from - I told them the news. They were ecstatic, we decided to go to market. My so called husband just had one thing to do in his life that was drinking drinking and drinking. He had a well established business on which he never paid attention. He never realized that he has two kids, I am sure he even doesn't know their birth dates as he was never there for them. They are my kids, only mine alone. After wandering around the market, we chose one according to our need and budget. After coming home,we made a list of what to do,how to do it. Both of them were very happy for me. According to Sarah now I can buy myself some new clothes and a footwear. I was happy that at this age of 7 Sarah first thought about my needs. She was just a child, who must be having her own needs and desires. It always gave me a feeling that I was raising them well. Dew was 5 but yet he always listened to her sister. His mother and sister are the world to him. The oven arrived that evening,we installed it and I baked some cupcakes first. That were the easiest and it came out really tasty. I kept the first batch for Sarah and dew. After finishing their homework and remaining work, they came to kitchen to help me. Dew handed me the things, Sarah Didi the measurements and cleaning. I always think if they both weren't there for me, this wouldn't ve been possible. They were my constant pusher to do well. That night he again raised his hand but this time something unexpected happened. Sarah came in between us. She pushed me,when he tried to grab her - I don't know from where that power came but I brought the handle of wiper and hit it on his head. He was stunned was an underestimate. We both ran to Dee's room and locked the door. We both hugged each other like it was the end. I consoled her and laid Sarah on Dew's small bed and took a sheet out of cupboard and laid down on the carpet. Next morning he was not there and started my morning schedule. I sent them to school,cleaned the house, washed utensils then prepared the lunch. After that I took a nap and they were home by the time I woke up. We had lunch and prepared goodies. He didn't come home that night. I was relieved. That Monday I delivered everything at Niomi's office by cab. I paid the driver and took out the goodies bags. I called her and she came down to meet me. She took me to her floor, and showed me the place where the goodies were to be arranged. I started arranging it and out of nowhere a middle aged man came and started eating one of the goodie. He was wearing a three piece suit and praised me. I felt a bit awkward as I didn't ve interacted with a male from a long time. I smiled and thanked him. He left me and Niomi approached me and gave me my cheque. I was stunned, a cheque and that too of the amount I haven't seen before. I was super happy and ecstatic. I have done it,I was on the top of the world. after making sure that everything was at its original place, I arrived home. On the way back I brought some eatables for Sarah and dew. I bought them new pair of sandals and bought myself a pair of flats. When they arrived home and I showed them the things,they were both super duper happy. And I realised that I don't need anybody's support, I can do it . I can raise my kids alone. That night he came home but didn't try to come in my room. He slept in the lobby. I found it weird but i slept peacefully . I decided to advertise and put some ads in local newspapers. And orders started coming in, those were small orders but we're enough for me and the kids.
