It's your wedding day

The priest spoke, "Beautiful words. Both of you. Now, do we have the rings?"

Alina, who had been busy wiping her tears, got startled as she hurriedly took out two boxes from her dress and handed them to Alex and Max.

The two slipped rings onto each other's fingers and the priest spoke again, "Alex Flame, do you take Max to be your lawfully wedded husband?"

Alex took hold of Max's hands and replied with a cracking voice, "I do."

The priest smiled and turned towards Max, "And Max Hadum, do you take Alex to be your lawfully wedded husband?"

Max was smiling with tears flowing down his cheeks as he replied, "I - I do."

The priest spread out his hands and said, "I now pronounce you two married. Congratulations my children. You may kiss each other."

Alina was crying the hardest and clapping the loudest in the whole room as Max walked over and pecked Alex on the lips.

After the celebration party. . .

Alina and Max walked forward side by side, Max pushing Alex's wheelchair and Alina skipping happily, with a lolipop in her mouth.

"I am happy that I was at least able to walk down the isle myself." Alex spoke, reaching out and getting hold of Alina's hand.

Max's face fell, as it did whenever Alex talked about his disease, but Alina smiled and said, "Don't talk negative. Like mom used to say, 'Think positive. If not possible, sing a song'."

Max was surprised, but Alex laughed and said, "That sounds like mom. And come on, follow her advice Alina. Sing for me."

Alina rolled her eyes, "It's your wedding day. You're still having trouble thinking positive?"

Alex laughed and said, "Come on, my baby sister. Maybe as a gift at my wedding day?"

Max couldn't help but notice how much Alex laughed whenever Alina was around.

Alex used to laugh quite a bit when he had joined the vipers, but that had gradually lessened over the years. If it wasn't for his sickness, Alex looked like he had gone back six years in time.

Alina sighed with a smile as she cleared her throat.

She then closed her eyes and started singing.

Max was really taken aback by Alina's singing.

She actually sang like a professional. Alina had naturally a sweet voice and she had inherited her sense of rhythm from her mother.

There was one more reason for Max being so shocked.

Firstly, he had never seen Alina sing.

And secondly, Alina had been training to become just like Alex. Not only his style of fighting and body movements, she had also started copying his voice.

Alina's voice was like a cukoo's whereas Alex's was a little hoarse.

Alina finished her song and opened her eyes.

She looked at Alex who spoke with a pout, "You really did get all the good traits of our parents."

"Really?" Alina asked with a tilt of her head.

"Yeah. You got dad's genius and fighting skills. And from mom, you got your stunning looks, the beautiful voice and great cooking skills." Alex spoke, counting off on his fingers.

Alina rolled her eyes, but anyone could tell that she was flattered.

The three stopped once they reached a clearing in the forest and Alina turned around with her hands on her hips.
