The New Recruits

Nicholette's POV

"I-I am a hacker." What?

"Don't be ridiculous. You're just a student here." Kyle said. Talking about discriminations huh?

"Yeah, I am a student and at the same time a hacker. Is there something wrong about it?" she answered.

"Okay, I got it. So, did you hear our conversation?" Lai asked. Oh right, no one should know about it.

"Yes…" Kyle was just about to approach the girl and Lai stopped him.

"Then, can you help us?" Lai asked. I can't believe what she just said to her.

"Lai! What are you talking about?! You are dragging a civilian here!" I hysterically said. She should not do or offer like that.

"Why not? No one knows that she is a hacker. And besides, we are working with the law. Nothing's illegal here." She explained.

"I know what you're getting at, but how can you ask her that? In this public place?" I complained.

"What public? We five are the only one here in the room, alone. So how can you consider that a public place?"

"Maybe because there is another one." All of us looked at the hacker girl direction when she said that.

"Oh shoot. We're damned." Lucas said.

"What are you talking about?" I asked.

"Come on out." Izhi said. A blonde girl came out and she just looked at us blankly. What is wrong with her.

"And who is she?" Lai asked.

Lucas' POV

"Come on out." Izhi said. I looked at their conversation how it will turn out after another one civilian is caught is this undercover.

"And who is she?" Lai asked. Ow shoot! That is Linley. What the hell is she doing here?

"Hi. I am Aqua Linley, but you should call me aqua." She coldly said. I looked at her like asking why is she here, but she just avoided my eyes.

"So, why are you here? Don't tell us you're also a hacker like her, cause if yes, I'm not buying it." Lette said while laughing.

"Sorry to disappoint your humor, but yes I am." She said confidently. I just felt my body stopping itself to drag her away from this scene. I cannot take this.

"So Aqua, will you join us too?" I was shocked of what Lai said. Is she so insensitive that maybe there were other syndicates in this room?

"Why are you also offering me that?" Linley asked.

"Me and my twin need hackers. Much better not known by anyone in the jurisdiction." She explained.

"Okay cool, I'll accept it." Linley said. What the hell is going on? I cannot believe it!

"Stop right there. Are you not afraid of us blowing your undercover?" I asked suddenly, which also shocked me as well.

"Why? Will you blow it?" Lai confidently asked, I cannot answer right away. If I blew theirs, my superiors will say that the twins knew about us also.

"I guess you will not." Lai said and looked at Linley and Izhi.

"What about me?" Kyle jokingly asked.

"I am sure you will not, after all your mother loves me." Lai nonchalantly said which left all of in the room stunned, especially her twin.

Nicholette's POV

I cannot join their conversation at all. I am lost. Lai asked the two of them to join our group and be our hackers. How can I react to that?

"Stop right there. Are you not afraid of us blowing your undercover?" Lucas asked. That's it, Lai! Think about it!

"Why? Will you blow it?" Lai confidently asked, oh my goodness! Can I just remove her from our family tree?

"I guess you will not." Lai said and looked at Linley and Izhi.

"What about me?" Kyle jokingly asked. I felt some hope when Kyle said it.

"I am sure you will not, after all your mother loves me." Lai nonchalantly said. Is she really my twin? My twin who cares no one and nothing? My twin who is cold and some sort of stone? My twin who I've lived for my whole life?! What a joke.

"Nicholai Ascania! We need to talk IMMEDIATELY!" I yelled at her and grab her wrist out the room.

"What in the hell are you doing? So, you're just about to decide on your own without consulting me first? What am I an air? A stone? A table in that room?!" I continuously said to her.

"Calm down Lette! That is why I told you to remember our targets!!" she shouted. But wait? Targets? I get my phone in my pocket and open the file.

"Oh em gee! Nicholai you are so genius!" I just said and can't help it but smile from ear to ear.

"*sigh* I told you to trust me every time, right? So, calm your nerves and we need to enter like you cannot do anything about it." She said and enter the room first. I got it!

Nicholai's POV

"I cannot believe you Lai! So, until the end you will not listen to me?!" I was shocked by Lette's sudden tantrums as soon as she entered the room. Gah! Talking about trashy acting.

"Yes, yes, I will not listen to you so shut up." I just said and she just pout her lips like saying she do want more of the acting that I did not want to.

I need to be wise in every step and action we do. Now that Kyle and Lucas knew that we're undercover, they will watch us closely and report every piece of movement we do to their bosses. I am wondering if Kyle's name is really Kyle cause if not, what about her mom?

"So, what are your decisions? Are you in or are you scared?" I asked.

"Well, I said I am in. I just talked to Izhi because I do want to recruit her." Linley said.

"Wait, are you famous Izhi?"

"Uhh, not so famous I think, I just hacked the…"

*PHONE RINGS*

"Get that phone or else you're out." I spoke to them.

"Well, I guess you should be out." Kyle said and I just realize that it is my phone ringing. I looked at the screen and it is an unknown caller.

"Hello?" I answered.

"Hi, this is Aiden and you gave me your number a while ago." Oh yes, my project partner *eye rolls*.

"Yes, and why are you calling?"

"Police are asking for you and Lette? They are in the classroom now, and no one has your phone number, except me." He explained. Maybe the autopsy is now out.

"Okay, I got it." I said then ended the call.

"I guess, we need to continue this talk next time. Here, this is my call card, call me tomorrow at 4pm. Remember it!" I said then drag Lette out.

"Why are you dragging me?" she complains.

"You dragged me a while ago so let's just say I am getting my revenge on it." I said then continue to drag her.

"Yeah, yeah, I got it. Come on, spill it."

"Police asks for us, maybe the autopsy is out."
