Carly had refused to meet the Cullens, she didn't say why but when Ryan offered she just said she didn't want to, and he didn't force her either as he wasn't her master or anything like that. Instead he tried to tell her all the information he knew about Vampires and let her live her knew life, she actually liked the idea of being one, but only wanted the apples that he supplied.

This didn't lead to her dropping our of college though, she was in her last years before she would graduate and with her not having to explain her aging she could go to school normally. She would just run to Forks once a month to restock her apples, which Ryan didn't mind supplying to her as it literally only cost him a drop of blood, the apple tree he planted did the rest.

With his gardening skill the tree only took days to grow and it would produce all year as it was in a green house, so they never needed to worry about supply. Other then this nothing new happened in Ryans life other then his mom visiting more often, which brought them closer to one another.

After the divorce was announced to him he didn't see his dad at all, it was as if the moment the divorce went through he forgot all about having a son, which Ryan didnt press at all. If his father wanted nothing to do with him, then he wouldn't have a relationship with him.

When Thanksgiving cake around his mother and him spent it alone, while Leah didn't celebrate it she did come over for dinner, her and his mother having gotten along great with one another. He found it awkward that she celebrated with them though, not that he wasn't happy she was there, but because of the history behind the holiday, he just found it awkward.

(Christmas)

Around Christmas his mother made it home with a smile on her face, Ryan was in the living room already having set up the tree and other decorations, "The place looks amazing, I am so glad thag we are doing this. It has been years since we have celebrated." She said with joy.

"Would have been better if Grandma was here." Ryan said with a sigh missing her.

"True. But the storm wouldn't allow for her visit so she couldn't make it this year, but don't worry we will be in Alaska this summer to see her." His mom said while trying to comfort him.

Ryan nodded accepting it as it was, he looked at the decorations smiling at the tree which was almost touching the ceiling along with the the green and red plastered everywhere. Out front on their lawn was basically a winter wonderland as the trees had ice sickles hanging off them along with colorful lights, a sleigh with Santa and his reindeer leading with Rudolph.

He was just glad that unlike his oast where they had to use fake snow that it actually snowed enough in Forks that they snow on the ground was real, the place was magical.

Later that night Leah along with her family made it to their house, he had talked to the Cullens who had no problem with the Clearwater's crossing the treaty line, especially if it was for a holiday. Plus when Rosalie got a invitation to his house for Christmas she sent her family a glare daring them to refuse them coming over, it caused him to chuckle.

At the moment they were all sat in the living room, Seth was grinning wide as he held the keys in his hand with passion, "This is real right?!" He asked no one in particular.

"Yes Seth it is real, but you can only ride when I am with you. Wouldn't want you to have an accident and your mother kill me." Ryan chuckled, he had given the kid a dirt bike for Christmas.

"Score! Leah, Ryan is the best thing to ever happen to me, you better not mess this up." He said shooting his sister a look.

Leah rolled her eyes, "Thanks Seth, I am really feeling the love."

Everyone else chuckled at it, Sue spoke up though, "You better only ride with Ryan too. If I catch you trying on your own I am taking those keys." She said sternly with a glare causing Seth to nod his head quickly.

Ryan chuckled as he took another present and passed it to Leah, she was the last to get a gift from him, "Sorry, Rosalie, I am still working on your gift, it should be ready....well soon. I didn't have a clear timeline on it."

Rosalie looked curious but smiled, "Don't worry about it. I know you are a man of your word, I can wait a little longer for you to get it together."

He nodded then looked to Leah who was calmly opening her gift, when she opened it she paused her mouth hanging open as she saw what was inside, "I hope you like it. Took me awhile to track down, then I basically drained my bank account for it, and yes it is authentic. Had it appraised and all."

Her mouth just kept opening and closing, Seth though looked over and spoke, "Holy shit, a guitar signed by Jimi Hendrix! Where did you find it?!"

No one, not even his mom said anything about his language as they heard what the gift was since Leah never moved to show them, Ryan just chuckled, "I found a collector and after talking for hours and getting a price down he sold it to me."

Leah gently set the guitar to the side before launching into his lap and kissing him deeply, he held her tight responding to it knowing she loved the gift, she had been learning to play guitar for a year now. One of her favorite guitarist happen to be Jimi Hendrix too so he killed two birds with one stone, though he doubted she would play this guitar at all.

Finally pulling back she looked at him with a slight glare, "This is no where in the fifty dollar limit we agreed on. Now I feel cheap for what I got you!' she growled out.

Ryan smiled he loved the entwined R&L necklace he got from her, he was wearing it too, that is how much he loved it, "Don't worry I love your gift, it is perfect."

She growled saying nothing but accepted, moving back to her gift she kicked Seth who went to pick it up and hugged it to herself protectively causing everyone to laugh.

(New Years)

"Seth! Stop trying to drink or I will take those keys from you!" Sue shouted even as she had her back turned in the kitchen.

They were doing New Years at the Clearwater house, his mother couldn't get back in time for it though as she had been working late on a case, so he decided to just join them at their house for the celebration. He was more then welcome too, Sue was actually talking to him mom a lot and she had made sure to call him over the moment she learned his mom wouldn't be back.

Ryan was glad that they were so welcoming to him, his relationship hadn't changed with them much after he started to date Leah, if anything they were more open to him especially when they saw how much they got along.

This wasn't as small gather though as it was more of a reservation thing, everyone was bring a meal and then they would all meet at the center building for a big party, even Charlie Swan would be there as he was invited by Billy Black. At the moment the rest of the family was getting dressed while Ryan was sitting in the living room messaging his mom and Rosalie, two people who couldn't be with him.

Though Rosalie and her family did go visit their 'cousins' so there was also that.

"Hurry up in there! I will not be the last to arrive!" Sue shouted again as they were waiting on Seth and Harry who decided to get ready at the last moment.

Leah walked out seconds later in a red flannel with a cutoff shirt under it, she had on skin tight black skinny jeans which she filled out great, the boots she wore were also fashionable matching perfectly.

(A/N: I'm a guy, I don't know these things okay, I only know men's fashion!)

Ryan whistled smiling at her, "You look beautiful."

She rolled her eyes but a small smile was on her face, "Please, you say that so much that it doesn't mean anything anymore."

He chuckled pulling her into a hug as he kissed her, "Doesn't mean that I don't mean it. I swear I am stunned by your beauty every day."

She leaned forward kissing him with a smile but the sound of Seth gagging had her glaring and charging to hit him, Ryan just chuckled before pulling her around the waist as it was time to head out. She calmed down melting into his side as they all made their way to the building, along the way they passed by others who were also headed there, none of them questioned why Ryan was there.

When they made it the place was decorated and music was softly playing, Sue rushed to put her food with the rest since it was a potluck situation, she beamed as people immediately took plates of her food. Ryan wasn't able to get anyway as Leah dragged him to dance, and although he really wanted to food he allowed himself to be pulled over.

It was a slow song so they swayed her giggling as he twirled her around too, "I thought things would be different."

He looked at her curiously, "What do you mean?"

"When we got together, I assumed things would change. Like maybe we wouldn't be so close or maybe we would do a lot differently, but we haven't." Seeing his look she quickly explained, "It's not a bad thing, trust me on that. I love it really, I just thought that maybe things would change, with Sam they did, but in a bad way."

He nodded, "That is the perks of dating your best friend." He started smiling, "Nothing ever had to change but some romance in the relationship, we were already so comfortable with one another that everything else just seemed to come naturally. Which I how a relationship should be, you shouldn't have to force it."

She nodded in agreement, "True. I am so glad you kissed me all those months ago."

"Same, though your breath did smell like rotting eggs, I took one for the team." He jested getting a laugh and hit in the chest from her.

"Please, it is me who had to deal with your horrid breath, I swear it was like opening a can of spoiled fish." She joked.

They fell into easy laughter, Ryan was aware of the multiple people watching them but didn't pay them at mind, they were just curious more then hostile so there was no problem. He also caught on that Sam and Paul could hear them, but again he didn't care anymore as he could take care of them easily, that was already proven.

They spent more then an hour dancing before Leah said she was hungry, moving off the dance floor they went for food, with his hearing Ryan could hear Charlie's happy voice as he said, "Bella gets in after new years, I am so excited. I already have the room ready for her, plus I got a truck from Billy that Jake fixed up, I hope she likes it."

Ryan knew that it was getting closer to that day, but honestly he didn't really care any more, for awhile now his motive for living in Forks had changed, he no longer cared much for the plot and was instead there for his new life. Knowing that she was coming though did let him know that things would be moving quick soon though, and problems were coming.

"Want to take a walk?" Leah asked him out of the blue after she had finished her meal, he was on his eighth plate of food though.

Feeling as though he had eaten enough he nodded, "Sure thing."

The two walked around outside the ground was still covered in a thick layer of snow, it had been snowing constantly for the past month so it wasn't as if it was melting any time soon. Leah didn't say anything as she led him into the woods, he didn't feel the need to speak either as he followed along with her, until finally they reached a spot which he recognized as they place where they had met for the first time.

He waited as she seemed to take a breath before looking deep into his eyes, "We met here for the first time a year and a half ago, and I don't believe that we would be where we are now. Seth was right though about one thing, I was crushing hard and it scared me."

Ryan wanted to speak but he knew this was her moment so he didn't say anything, instead he held his tongue.

She let out a breath before slowly taking off her jacket and laying it on the ground, he let her do the same with his own as a makeshift bed was formed on the ground, Ryan needed no more words as he followed her lead. Although slightly excited for what was to come he let her pace everything, he knew she was a virgin and wanted her to feel comfortable with him, this was her idea after all.

As they shedded their clothes in the distance Ryan could hear over her soft moan as he entered her people cheering as they reached one in the count down, "Happy New Year." He whispered softly to her kissing her lips hard.
