chapter 3 : Instinctive anger

A little later while Jacob was working at the garage in town, a customer came to change the tires on his car because the roads had become slippery.

Jacob was very impressed with the car, it was a beautiful black and gray Mercedes but since Dean was already busy on another car he had to take care of it.

The job was done very quickly and the customer came to collect his car later, when Dean saw who it was he became very tense and looked at the person with a thin trace of hostility in his eyes , it was Edward Cullen.

Jacob looked at him as well and without really knowing why, a total hostility grew within him like an inferno when he saw him.

Quickly his body heat increased and he could even hear his own heart beating but he ignored all of that to look into Edward's eyes as Edward did the same.

"Jacob" Someone called but he didn't answer.

"JACOB" Dean called this time grabbing his shoulder, snapping him out of his trance as Edward had already gotten into his vehicle.

Dean: It's okay, you can go back to the reserve and rest.

Jacob: Dean I don't know what happened earlier, it was weird. I'm sorry Dean.

Dean: Don't worry about it Jacob and go home . Above all, don't forget to calm down before resting. You understood me ?!

Jacob:…

Dean: JACOB! Do you understand me?!

Jacob: Yes.

Dean: What should you do?!

Jacob: Rest.

Dean: That's good, now go ahead.

Jacob got on his motorcycle before leaving while Dean stayed with a serious look while looking in the direction Edward had gone.

(Jacob's P.O.V.)

Dean was right, I really needed some rest, some quiet and some sleep, it did me a lot of good.

In the evening, he came to speak with my father and although I did not hear or understand all of what was said between them I was able to understand some things but it was far from what my father was going to tell me. 

He brought me here to tell me the legends of our tribe, our link with the wolves but also the Cullens as well as their meeting with our ancestors from the time of Harry Clearwater's grandfather.

It was crazy ! How did this family survive without aging from that time to now without people being able to notice?!

At first I thought he was talking about their ancestors who were certainly enemies of ours, but they were in fact talking about the one and only generation of Cullens still present.

I put it all down to a fable just like the rest of our legends.

Father also warned me about myself and that I will certainly have drastic physical changes in the near future, he was certainly talking about my puberty started several years ago already, it looks like this man is going senile.

(time skip)

Weeks passed and I was mistaken in thinking that my father had gone senile. Changes really started to appear in my body and it was amazing.

I received a growth spurt, I was a good height but I got a little taller until I was 6 feet tall, I could jog for longer and longer periods of time with excellent Endurance and I could lift heavier and heavier weights although by exceeding my limits each time, my muscles had gained volume.

That wasn't all, I also felt like my intellectual faculties had also received a boost. I learned things faster and faster and I worked better and better, I even got a raise at work and my grades were the best in school.

Obviously, all this attracted attention in the tribe, it was looks of admiration for the youngest but for the elders, it was looks of pride as if I had been blessed by the spirits of our ancestors or something like that.

They weren't really surprised by all this but they seemed to know things about me that I didn't.

I received more and more looks from the girls of my generation who often came to bring me cookies or fried fish while I tinkered in my workshop so that we could chat.

Likewise I also got insistent looks from Sam Uley, a respected man of the tribe, he gave off an aura that I could describe as authoritarian and there were other young people with him I didn't know why they were hanging out together but he seemed to be waiting for me.

Today was the weekend and I wasn't working, old Harry summoned me as well as Solomon Finar the future husband of Rebecca my older sister as well as Embry Call another young person with whom I was friends in the tribe .

He sent us to ensure that there were no problems with young people coming to enjoy La Push beach on our territory.

Of course there was nothing wrong with that and visitors were welcome as long as they were friendly and respectful like Charlie.

We went there and we saw some young people who were surfing, there were also a few vehicles belonging to them and sitting on the front of her vehicle I saw Bella with some friends of hers (It was a Van in the movie but in this reality, she loved her car too much) a rush of excitement had in me under the amused looks of Solomon and Embry before we went towards them.

(general POV)

"Bella!" Jacob called as he got closer.

Bella: JACOB?!

The surprise was visible in his eyes, it had been weeks since they had seen each other and Jacob had still grown up.

The girls tried to fix their hair and looks quickly for one simple reason, Jacob was hot. He was tall and quite muscular with very long hair, Embry and Solomon started giggling when they saw that.

Bella: What does it do?! Three weeks ? Why didn't you come see me?

Jacob: Difficult to find time between work and classes.

Embry: But don't worry, he talks a lot about you at the reserve.

Solomon: You remain his eternal crush.

They started to talk to Jacob who ignored them to avoid being too embarrassed, they were used to having fun like that between them.

Bella: You've grown again, it's crazy! But what are you doing here?! Are you spying on me ?!

Jacob: Pure coincidence, our elder sent us to monitor the surroundings and make sure there are no accidents with the swimmers.

Bella: Um very careful. (remembers) Girls, let me introduce you to Jacob, a childhood friend.

Girls: Hello.

Jacob: Hello, This is my friend Embry and my brother-in-law Solomon.

Bella: Jacob, are you married?

Jacob: No (laughs) He's engaged to my sister, you know Rebecca.

Bella: Hi Solomon (shakes hands)

Jessica: Are you going to bring Bella company?! His companion left her alone.

Eric (Bella's friend): Who?!

Angela: Oh, she invited Edward.

Jessica: Edward Cullen but he slipped away.

When Jacob heard this name, his Instincts were awakened by hostility.

Jacob: Is he your boyfriend Bella?!

Bella: Not at the moment, it's...good knowledge.

Eric: He saved his life. A real beast of a show.

"You're right buddy, a beast. The Cullens don't come here" Jacob said before getting up and starting to walk towards the beach to try and channel his emotions, this anger he felt was like a consuming fire.

Bella also got up to follow him and ask him what he meant by that, he tried to skirt the subject but she insisted and he told her about the tribe's legend about them not in depth but vaguely and even she found it intriguing and tried to find out more but he insisted saying it was just a legend.

After a while of walking.

Jacob: By the way Bella, today is my last day of the weekend so I would like to know if you would like to go on an outing just you and me.

Bella: Wow Jacob! No, sorry I can't, I have something to do.

Jacob: With Edward?! Did he invite you?

"Jacob, that's my business," she said, patting his shoulder.

Jacob: (sighs) It's whatever you want, but Bella, be careful, these people may be dangerous.

Bella: Jacob, can you stop? You know nothing about him or his family other than the legends of your tribe.

Jacob: That's why I said "Maybe." In short, take this advice as you wish, there is no problem here so I'm going back to the reserve. Say hello to Charlie for me.

He walked away leaving her with mixed emotions.
