Chapter 3

~Cullen House~

[ 3rd Person PoV ]

The Cullen family had just gotten back from a hunt. Edward went off to play the piano, Emmett and Jasper were playing video games while Rosalie and Edythe were discussing fashion trends. Alice was about to join her family when all of a sudden she stopped in her tracks and saw a vision. In the vision Rosalie was standing on a cliff watching the sunset. But this Rosalie looked older. She looked around 25 rather than 18. All of a sudden a man came into view. He put his arms around her waist and gave her a hug from behind and kissed her on the cheek. The man also looked to be around 25. He had snow white hair, pale skin and red eyes. Rosalie looked happier than Alice had ever seen her in the arms of the man. Then Edward came into the vision. He also looked older and he had his arms around the waist of a brown haired girl. She had a heart shaped face and amber coloured eyes. Both of them looked just as happy as Rosalie and the white haired man. Then the vision ended.

Outside the vision the other members of the Cullen family were watching Alice with curiosity and apprehension. They knew that Alice's visions could either be really good or really bad.While Edward,having read her mind was watching her with confusion. Carlisle Cullen a blonde haired vampire and the leader of the coven came forward. Carlisle looked to be around 23 years old while in reality he was over 400 years old.

'' Alice is everything alright. What did you see ?''

As Alice began describing her vision the jaws of the members of the Cullen family kept dropping lower with each passing moment. After Alice had finished her description, Esme, Carlisle's wife and the mother figure of the Cullen family stepped forward and said,

'' So according to Alice's vision Rosalie and Edward have somehow gotten older and they have also found their mates? Is it possible for vampires to become older Carlisle ? ''

'' No. It's impossible for vampires to age normally. Such a thing has never been discovered.''

At that Emmett stepped forward and said,'' Couldn't it be possible that they can age because of a vampire ability ? ''

'' It could be possible. But such a vampire ability has never been seen or documented before. '' Carlisle mused.

'' It could be possible that either Rosalie or Edward's mates are responsible for this. Anyway we'll just have to wait and see. Alice did you see when we are going to be meeting them.''

'' Oh yes ! I saw that we will see them at school tomorrow.'' Alice said excitedly.

'' Very well. Remember all of you just need to observe them but make sure that they don't grow suspicious. Edythe I want you to make sure that they really are Edward's and Rosalie's mates.''

[ Rosalie's PoV ]

After the meeting ended I distractedly made my way into my room. I laid down on my bed while thinking about what Alice had just revealed. My mate. In the 80 years of my life I had never managed to find him. Edward and I had never had anything more than the relationship of a brother and sister. Emmett was closer to me but we have never been anything more than friends.

I had almost given up hope at this point. I thought that I was destined to forever be alone. I wonder what kind of person my mate is. Tomorrow cannot come sooner.

The next day we made our way into the cafeteria amidst the regular staring and whispering. We sat down at our table. Alice was looking around excitedly. I was also looking around, admittedly with much less excitement. Then again, I doubt anyone could ever match the amount of excitement that Alice has. I was discreetly looking around when I heard a new voice mutter,'' Who are they ? ''

I looked in the direction of the voice and I froze. Sitting there in the middle of the cafeteria was the most handsome boy I've ever seen.He had snow white hair that looked like it had just been in the wind. The structure of his face was gentle yet firm. His cheeks were pale but if one looked carefully then they could see the blood flowing underneath. They looked like they were just begging to be caressed. But his most enchanting feature was his eyes. They were blood red but unlike a vampire's they looked more alluring than frightening. I felt like I could happily spend my whole life just looking into those eyes. I was brought out of my daze when the voice from before - now identified as the girl sitting next to him - said, '' Stop staring it's weird. ''

Only then did I realise that he was staring right back at me. Did he also fall into a daze by seeing me ? A warm feeling blossomed in my heart at the thought. I looked next to him and looked at the girl. She had brown hair and a heart shaped face. She must be Edward's mate. The blonde haired girl sitting next to her - Jessica Stanley If I remember correctly- whispered to her, '' They are the Cullen kids. All of them are together. The big guy Emmett is together with Edythe, the brown haired girl sitting on his right.''

She spoke the words as if it were a scandalous story that should be advertised in newspapers. Though I was very happy to note that there was no judgment of disgust in the eyes of my mate. Jessica continued to say, '' The short - thin one is Alice, she is a bit weird. She is together with the blonde guy who looks like he is in pain, Jasper. The cold looking girl next to him is Rosalie Hale. And the cute looking guy at the end is Edward.''

Alice's shoulders slumped at her words and I along with the rest of my family had a hard time controlling our anger. Suddenly Jasper said next to me,'' Looks like we are not the only ones who are angry at her words.'' I looked where his gaze was directed and saw my mate almost crushing his can while gritting his teeth. He calmed himself down with visible difficulty and turned to Jessica and said with a sweet smile,

'' Miss Stanley are you acquainted with Alice ? No ? Then perhaps you are friends with Jasper ? No ? Then surely you have talked with Ms. Hale before ? No ? Then you mean to tell me that you have given judgment of them without even talking to any of them even once ? Miss Stanley are you perhaps a mind reader or a fortune teller ? ''

It was clear from his tone that he was mocking her. I had a hard time controlling the gentle smile that was coming onto my face at his caring and understanding nature. Alice didn't even bother to hide the beaming smile on her face. She was happy that someone outside of her family had stood up for her. He gave a smile and wave to Alice who promptly returned it.

He turned to the black haired girl with glasses - Angelina Weber I thought idly - and asked, '' Miss Weber can I ask you something ? Is Miss Hale single perhaps ? ''

I turned the other way to hide the beaming smile that I was sure had bloomed on my face at his question. 'So he really is interested in me' I thought happily.

'' Um...yeah she is. By the way, why are you talking like that ? ''

'' Ignore him. He always speaks like a gentleman in front of girls and wouldn't ever call them by their last names if they weren't friends. He was quite popular with the girls in our old school because of this and was confessed to by a lot of them as well. Though he always rejected them.''

I had the sudden urge to go to his old school and rip out the throats of those girls for their audacity but managed to calm myself when I heard the end of her sentence.

All of a sudden he laughed because of something Edward's mate did and I fell in a trance once more. His laugh sounded gentle yet it also had a husky undertone to it. It ended all too soon and I had the desire to hear it again. I wanted to hear it every moment of my life.

After reaching home I at once dragged Alice inside and sat her down on the sofa.

'' Tell me everything. Now. ''

The entire family had gathered around us. Carlisle had also come home from work early.

'' His name is Damian Swan. He came here from Phoenix, Arizona. He used to live with his mom and step - father. He has a twin sister, Isabella Swan. She is Edward's mate ! And most importantly, he is my new best friend ! ''

'' Damian is a nice guy. He and I have also become quick friends. He also has a unique scent that cancels out other scents when he is nearby. I don't have to fear about losing control when I'm around him. ''

'' Edythe did you see a mating bond between them ? ''Carlisle asked.

'' Yes. Rosalie has a mating bond with Damian and Edward has a mating bond with Bella. ''

'' So are we going to turn them into vampires ? '' Emmett asked.

'' No ! '' Edward snapped. '' I'm not going to curse her to an existence as a soulless monster. She deserves to live her life and grow old with someone who will be able to take care of her.'' he said and stormed off.

'' Rosalie what do you want to do ? '' Carlisle asked me.

'' I want to get to know him better before I decide to tell him anything. ''

'' Very well. Anything else ? ''

'' Yes, apparently both Damian and Bella are immune to Edward's ability. '' Emmett said.

'' You're saying he can't read both of their minds ? '' Carlisle asked shocked.

After he nodded in confirmation Carlisle said, '' Maybe they have natural shields. It's incredibly rare but not unseen. ''

After the meeting ended I laid down in my bed thinking about my mate. I can't wait to meet him.
