Monsters encircled the the adventurers, sliva dripping and pooling at their paws. Some even intentionally lashed forward tuanting them.
All of them felt like trapped mice in a corner, unprepared for the sudden onslaught. Zen's heart raced, his hand shaking. Not from fear, but pure excitement, this is why he was here for the rush of killing monsters.
One adventure took the lead an axe welder. "Ready yourselves archers!" His gruff voice bellowing over the group.
The others shook their heads snapping out of the daze, they cuaght themselves in, the began notching the arrows, Zen doing the same, his bow worn from use. The slender axe welder raised his hand high. "Ready!"
Silence befell the group, only the growls and snarls making noise. Zen closed his eyes, taking a deep breath into his lungs holding it...
"Fire!"
Arrows simultaneously sailed through the air, whistling before hitting some of their targets, some dodge the arrow growling more menacing then before. Zen quickly notching his next arrow, seeing that one of the monsters was slightly larger than the others, standing far from the frey.
Zen took his opportunity after the second round of arrows were released. Zen changing his direction, aiming for its head.
Delaying his shot for five seconds as more arrows were dodged by the smaller monsters. Zen's arrow sailed silently through the air, piercing deep into the monsters head.
Blood sprayed and gushed out of the monsters eye, it let out a ear splitting yelp. Causing most adventures to faint.
The slender axe welder noticed this, stomping his way over to Zen. He grabbed Zen's hood, lifting him off the ground. "You missed, you doomed us all. By taking that cheap shot!" Zen looked into the sapphire eyes of his accuser.
"Did I now, are you sure?" A loud thud came from behind the slender mans back. The ground shook beneath his feet, making most of the adventurers fall backwards, form the sudden quack.
Everyone including the slender man were surprised, at Zen's cheap shot. That killed the leader in one hit. The man still holding Zen, faced scrunched. "Lucky shot." He then dropped Zen roughly to the ground.
The attack was not over, as the other smaller monsters did not like their leader being killed. They rushed forward all at once, attack the adventurers left and right.
"You've doomed us all you fool!" The slender man rushed forward swinging his big axe, sending ten monsters back. "Defend yourselves!" He swang his axe once more, stabbing a monster in its gut.
Zen stood up, placing his his bow back over his shoulder. He took out two small concealed daggers, he rushed forward more excited then before as he slashed the monsters jugulars, blood sprayed on him, but he cared not. He was enjoying the rush he felt.
The battle was over in two hours, light green glows came from healers as they healed their party members.
"I could have your head, if those monsters weren't so damed weak. But next I won't hesitate to cut you down." The slender man turned and left Zen be, blood dripping of his axe.
After the all got healed and cleaned, they made their way into the dark cave, lighting torches to see better. Zen followed close behind, but far enough to stay out of site.
The narrow path opened up into a bigger cavern , blue and purple crystals hung from the carvens roof. Medium to smaller crystal dotted around the wall of the cavern. Making everyone stop in aww at the beauty of the cavern.
Zen observed his surroundings, his senses on high alert, moss covered the cavern floor.
The others moved in deeper, observing how the colored aluminated the whole cavern.
Zen remained, something felt of but what? A low rumble began deep from within the back. What was he missing, he couldn't put his finger on it. Uneasiness grew within Zen's stomach, the rumble grew and grew, making the ground vibrate.
The others noticed now looking all around the cavern, turning in all directions. What happened next cuaght them all off guard including Zen, not expecting this to happen next....
