Alabama, Birmingham.
Gale's shelter.
Moments before the operation to take Birmingham began, Logan had been thinking about the first words Airon had told him about his mission to this place.
He had told him about taking this city and he sounded very confident of accomplishing it, so right now he was thinking about when it would be and how he would do it. After all, there could be thousands of walkers in this city even after a year.
Besides, why does he need to take all of Birmingham if there are no more left alive? He had seen it and thought about it many times, the once small world had now become gigantic.
But just as he was about to look for what work to do to contribute to the base, a series of gunshots rang out in the distance and then numerous strange sounds came closer and closer to the city.
"What is that sound Thomas!"
"I don't know, it can still be heard far away."
Gale, who was in the crops working, heard the commotion outside and went out into the square to see what it was all about. "That's the sound of a helicopter..."
"Mr. Gale, what do we do?"
An old man noticed that Gale had arrived so he asked him in a voice full of nervousness, he remembers that the last time he saw helicopters the city was bombed. So after a long time it is uncomfortable for him to know that there is still some kind of government.
"What can we do, hide?" A woman suggested hiding, but was soon dismissed by Gale who was still thinking.
"We can't show ourselves but we can't hide either, and we don't know if these people have malicious intentions, so we must be careful and pray that they are just passing through."
"Then we must wait."
As he said that, Gale saw Logan running towards him with a somewhat excited expression and shouted, "Gale, it's them."
At this point, he seemed to understand what Logan meant so he kept silent and thought about what would happen next. No, how could those people possibly come in helicopters shortly after saying goodbye to this place?
Most likely for sure they had already made up their minds early on so he looked at Logan and asked him again, "What was it they told you when you met them?"
"They said they would take Birmingham and then Alabama, by the way, a whole group stayed at the mall clearing the place of walkers. what's the problem?"
Logan had moved closer to find out if there was something he hadn't thought of, but at that moment a loud sound was heard outside the community and soon a flare rose into the sky.
Boom!
Boom!
Right after the flare, smoke grenades were also thrown not far from Gale's community. By then, people standing near the small wall saw two armored Humvees approaching again but this time with a different intention.
"They're jerks, they'll attract walkers from nearby buildings."
Roar!!!
But no matter if Airon knew this or not, the sounds of grenades and flare shots were launched without hesitation, so this sound woke up a different kind of walker than he was very familiar with, and that hysterical roar of the infected suddenly came from everywhere.
"Zz... No matter how many infected approach, take care of subduing all the people in that community first, and kill those who resist."
"Zz... Understood, commander."
Finishing with those words, Airon and the others got out of the vehicles and positioned themselves in different places to kill all the infected that were approaching their position.
They were all waiting, but they didn't have to for long as at an intersection not far away numerous figures with disfigured faces came out running at high speed.
"What the fuck are those things!"
"Big shit, my bat wouldn't do anything to those motherfuckers." Negan said as he raised his rifle and began firing into the distance trying to take out as many of the infected as possible.
Before long the place was filled with bursts of gunfire, and if right now everyone was full of tranquility it was because they had two large and powerful machine guns ready to open fire.
Bang Bang Bang Bang! Bang Bang Bang Bang!
Looking at those fierce faces that were getting closer and closer, Airon frowned and put aside the guns. From his back two long and heavy curved machete-like swords were taken.
He could feel the familiarity of taking two blades to eliminate monsters, in his previous life he eliminated titans so now these monsters of his own stature were nothing at all.
"Come at me!"
With a loud roar, Airon slowly moved forward and the first infected came close to his body and was cut down in a few seconds. He still trains very often, he had always led a very tortuous routine to reach a desired fitness so that he would meet all his requirements and right now he had achieved it.
He could once again feel that feeling of adrenaline, today he could finally feel the blood of the things he cut wet his hands and body. This sensation that made him a true legend in his previous life had come alive again.
As the infected were being torn apart by his blades, the other people noticed Airon's incredibly unpredictable movements. Never had anyone seen a man hold swords like that, with such confidence and precision.
"Now what's wrong with that madman?" Daryl asked with a confused expression, the last time he had seen him like that was when this all started.
"He's a fucking demon, I should trade my bat for a pair of those machetes." Negan nodded and after watching Airon take out dozens of infected, the group stopped firing in his direction so he wouldn't be hurt in any way.
But none of these people could understand Airon's feeling of longing, that sense of communication returning to his body, filling him with more than just nostalgia.
Filling him with fury, anger, resentment and pain. Those emotions that had been away from him today awoke as he continued to eliminate the infected, that Airon that had slowly overcome his first days in this world began to return in a unique and strong way.
The world was asking for him, the situations that surrounded him were asking for a more cruel and bloody Airon, the world should know that he is indifferent to killing.
Airon's eyes in these moments were full of coldness, while holding his swords in his hands, with a single cut the head of an infected person was detached from his neck and with one more move the infected person further ahead also lost his hands.
For anyone who saw Airon right now, they would think he was a man of war.
Bang Bang Bang!
Corpses were piling up around Airon, but that was nothing I considered as he continued to cut down infected. These insects had the head shaped like a puffball, and right now he no longer wanted to think about how those things came to exist in this world.
Airon had made it a point to stop thinking about the original story, this was his world and as of today his story. There was nothing more than memories of events that might not happen in the future, so now he could only preserve and continue fighting.
The infected were gradually being eliminated, and when there were only a few dozen of them left everyone stopped shooting while watching Airon who was in the center of dozens of infected continue eliminating enemies.
