There was no time to recover
There was smoke rising, power pulsing out from the building in waves like a beacon.
Yuan Xuelan rushed onward until he happened upon a pavilion where fire rose from within. Flashes of power told of a terrible fight but he couldn't yet make out what was going on. But an ominous feeling was about and made his heart rap against his chest. The young cultivator drew his sword and rushed inside.
The smoke was abundant and stung his eyes. Barriers weren't really his thing but Yuan Xuelan had talismans at his disposal and he drew one that filtered the air. Eyes veered around and he could see figures dancing through the bright fiery veil. Two swords, bright.
His eyes stung but Yuan Xuelan didn't think twice before raising his voice.
"Sumeng!"
Perhaps it was a mistake, because he couldn't properly make out the figure behind the bright dancing flames and the heavy smoke that saturated the air.
