The Zhou Family

Once he learned that both Qian Lin and Li Jun Xuan got into too much trouble because of him, Qin Zhan felt guilty and did not try to reject these friends as much as he did in the past.

His two friends and their group looked like a local gangster but Qin Zhan later learned that in the group, there were a few children who became an orphan just like him.

Qin Zhan stayed with Grandpa Chen's family and work hard at the noodle stall. He had promised that he would never get himself into trouble again.

Grandpa Chen had not only let him stay with his family but the old man had also sent him over to the school. He had told him that no matter what, a child his age should be getting an education so that he won't get bullied when he grew up.

He studied hard, completed his high school, and somehow, entered culinary school and learned to be a pastry chef.

Perhaps, it was because he has been working with flour to knead noodles, he became good at making pastries. He worked at a famous pastry shop and gained experience. Later, he met Zhang Yu Han and he had invited him to work at his hotel.

He only worked for a year at the hotel before he was promoted to the head of a patisserie.

Qin Zhan owed too Zhang Yu Han a lot.

This time, because of Grandpa Chen, he had decided to quit his job at The Orchid. Zhang Yu Han had said that anytime he wanted to return, he would still offer his position as the head chef.

Qin Zhan did not know whether he would return or not. He liked working with The Orchid and had no plan to work with anyone else.

He decided to wait until Grandpa Chen return to Z Town before he made his decision.

However, everything changed the moment he met the Zhou family...

Qin Zhan learned that he still have a family and that his father was a son of a very rich businessman. The Zhou family was famous for their high-end shopping malls called Etoile. The company had a few shopping malls all over the country and had begun to spread its wings to several parts of the world.

His father turned out to be the eldest son of the Zhou family. He was a capable man and was supposed to inherit the family business. Then, he fell in love with the maid's daughter. Their relationship was objected to by the Zhou family who wanted him to marry someone better.

Later, his parents decided to elope and move to a smaller town.

They were loving and carefree, even with little money in their hands.

But perhaps, it was due to working hard to provide for his family that made his father ill. After his father passed away, his mother became really sad and had followed his father.

Qin Zhan had always thought that his parents did not have any other family until the Zhou family found him and told him about his identity. They did a paternity test and confirmed their relationship.

His paternal grandfather wanted him to return to the family and recognize his ancestor. Initially, Qin Zhan wanted to agree. But everything changed when he learned that not everyone was happy to see him return.

Of course, Qin Zhan knew well that the others were afraid that once he returned, he was going to take a portion of the family fortune which he did not care about.

Qin Zhan thought that the Zhou family was quite complicated and he did not want to get involved.

It would be best if he could stay in Z Town and make noodles. The atmosphere in this town was relaxing and the people in this place were friendly. However, Qin Zhan knew that Grandpa Chen would not agree with this choice.

Qin Zhan looked at his friends and let out a sigh. "I don't know. I guess I will wait for Grandpa Chen to return before I can make a decision."

Right now, Qin Zhan was looking after both Luo Qi and Luo Jun as Grandpa Chen was away to recuperate from his surgery.

Qin Zhan's expression turned darker as he thought about his recent meeting with his cousin, Zhou Yun Feng. "Whatever it is, I am not planning to return to the Zhou's family."

Gu Xin Ye ate her dinner quickly and returned to the bedroom. When he left the dining area, Qin Zhan and his friends were still together.

As she ate her dinner, Gu Xin Ye had glanced at the group a few times and wondered about their discussion. The group of friends seemingly was discussing an important matter with a serious look on their faces.

However, she could not eavesdrop on their conversation as her spot was too far away. She couldn't get too close as she was still worrying that Mo Cheng Feng was going to appear anytime soon and recognize her.

Once she entered her room, Gu Xin Ye finally let out a breath of relief.

She wondered if her stomach was able to digest the food she ate as she had her meal while worrying too much.

The phone on her table rang.

Gu Xin Ye glanced at the caller ID and saw that Shen Yi Nian was requesting a group video call with Lin Qiao. She accepted the video call and her friend's faces appeared on the screen.

Shen Yi Nian narrowed her eyes as she looked at her screen. "Xin Ye, are you going out?"

"I just came back from dinner." Gu Xin Ye sat on the sofa as she reported about her meal just now.

Her friends became disinterested in her meal and changed the topic to something else. As her good friends, both Shen Yi Nian and Lin Qiao were curious about her life in Z Town and her relationship progress with Qin Zhan.

Gu Xin Ye complained to them about working in the noodle stall and how she still hasn't found out anything useful on Qin Zhan.

The three of them continued to chat and catch up with each other until Lin Qiao left to do some chores.

"That's right, Yi Nian, there's something that I wanted you to help investigate," Gu Xin Ye said after a while. She told her friend about Mo Cheng Feng and his visit to Z Town. "I need to know what is the relationship between Qin Zhan and Mo Cheng Feng's wife."
