55 The Truth Comes Out

It had been 3 days since the trio's departure from Loguetown and they had been sailing non stop ever since. Shaya was sat by a table with her head buried in paperwork.

[If we're going to go after Kaido eventually, we can't leave anything to chance. I have to make sure our plan is perfect, I can't afford to skip over a single detail!]

"Shaya…"

Hearing Orion's voice Shaya didn't even look up from her paperwork, just shouting back.

"What is it? I'm busy!"

"Come out here for a moment!"

Thinking it was Orion wanting to spar again she refused.

"I can't right now, I'm busy!"

"Shayaaa…"

"…"

"Shaya, come out here!"

"…"

"It's important and can't wait!"

Shaya stood up and walked out onto the deck disgruntled.

"If this isn't important don't blame me for throwing you out to…!"

Just as she was about to finish her sentence she was shocked by what she saw when she walked out onto the deck.

"What's all this?!"

Ori and Roman were sat cross legged on the ground and in front of them were 3 sake cups full of a clear and sweet smelling liquid.

Ori looked at her with a warm smile as he explained.

"You're the third member of the Heavenly Demon Pirates, our trusted nakama but that's not all. For the past 9 years you've saved both of our asses more times than I'd care to admit, not just when we got into dangerous situations when battling on the island, but even when Hawky gave us the news about our parents and we started acting recklessly. It was you who brought us back from the edge."

As he said that he couldn't help but remember the day Mihawk gave them the news regarding the fall of the Joyous Pirates.

Both Orion and Roman decided to take their rage out on the beasts on the island. Shaya didn't say anything at first, just silently following them. They spent the day fighting till they were burnt out and killed every beast in the layer bar the boss for that layer. Even though they were running on fumes, the flames of anger still burnt in their hearts and so they decided to try their luck against the boss.

Shaya told them it was a bad idea, but they didn't listen, telling her to wait in the safe zone. Shaya refused to let them march to their deaths, so she decided to fight them both preventing them from courting death.

After fighting for a while the sounds of their fight caught the layer boss' attention. Orion and Roman charged at the beast in anger but they were devastated. As Orion was about to take attack a nasty attack to the face Shaya slowed down time and used her body to shield his. She ended up receiving a near fatal cut just under her breasts. If it wasn't for her blood fruit she almost definitely would've bled out there and then.

Seeing her take the blow for him brought Ori back to his senses. He subconsciously used his conqueror's haki on the beast. Even though it didn't lose consciousness it was still intimidated into retreating. That night Ori and Roman blamed themselves for being the cause of her injuries. They didn't say a word for a week until she woke up. Both boys apologised sincerely and promised never to do anything so stupid again.

It was then that the position Shaya held in their hearts subtly changed from a crew mate to a sibling without them even realising.

After leaving Loguetown Ori raised the idea of making Shaya their sworn sister. Roman didn't even hesitate in his agreement.

Both boys were looking at Shaya with warm smiles, awaiting her reply.

Shaya looked at the 2 brothers before her still shocked at their question.

[There was a while where I thought I potentially had feelings for Orion but during our time on the island training, those feelings transformed into that of an older sister. I found myself feeling jealous over how close they were to each other and I think subconsciously I wanted that.

Since the death of my parents the thing I've missed most is the feeling of having a family. Although whilst we were on the island they always treated me like part of the gang and never left me out, there was still this imaginary divide. It wasn't till that day that the wall started crumbling.]

As she thought to there she subconsciously raised her hand to just under her breasts. When they saw where her hand went, Ori and Roman looked at the ground guiltily thinking she couldn't get past what happened that day.

Seeing their reactions Shaya couldn't help but let out a smile.

[These idiots!]

It was that moment when she felt as if the crumbling barrier finally fully collapsed. She made a cut on her finger and dripped her blood into all 3 cups before taking one downing the contents before smashing the glasses into pieces on the ground.

The boys looked up to see Shaya's smiling face.

"What are you two waiting for, don't tell me you've changed your mind?!"

When they heard that they couldn't help but look at each other in surprise before smiling ear to ear. They each picked up a cup and like Shaya they downed the contents before smashing it on the ground.

"Hahaha as your older sister you have to do what ever I say from now on!"

Ori was the first to complain.

"But I'm the cap…"

Before he could finish his sentence, he noticed Shaya's glare and didn't dare finish his sentence.

Seeing him stop she and Roman couldn't help but let out a hearty laugh.

Ori rolled his eyes at these siblings of his before smiling warmly.

He then looked at them putting jokes aside as he said.

"There's one more thing I need to tell you."

Hearing the seriousness in his tone, Roman and Shaya stopped joking about and listened.

"As you both already know, I have a secret that I haven't told anyone before...

I'm not of this world originally!"

Both Shaya and Roman looked at him not understanding what he meant.

"I mean I know I was born in this world but that was after I was reincarnated. I reincarnated into this world with all my memories intact…"

He then went on to explain everything that happened after he died in his first life.

"I don't know if he was a god or an angel or whatever and to be honest that doesn't matter to me. All that matters is that I live a life without regret with the people dearest to me! The reason I didn't tell you sooner wasn't because I didn't trust you, but because I didn't want you to think I was some kind of freak!"

As he said that he looked apologetically at his siblings who were still reeling from the shock of what he just told them.

Roman looked at him as he asked.

"Is that why Tsunade was so interested in you? As the holder of the Samsara fruit she must've been able to sense your reincarnation."

Ori nodded as he said.

"She was also reincarnated, not from my world though."

Shaya asked.

"The mystical information you have, is that all information that deity told you?!"

Orion shook his head as he explained.

"You might not believe it but that's information I gathered from my previous life."

Seeing the shocked/confused faces he explained that in his old life the happenings of this world and Tsunade's old world were depicted in the forms of stories.

"And my little cousin, Luffy would've one day gone on to be the king of the pirates if you didn't reincarnate?!"

Ori shrugged his shoulders as he replied.

"I can't say for sure as I died before the story was finished but he was definitely the protagonist!"

Shaya looked up at the sky as she said.

"I can't help but wonder about that Eiichiro Oda, for him to know so much about the future of this world and then retell the tale in your world and those other famous authors. They must've travelled to those worlds in the future and then retold the tales of the world in your previous one."

Roman looked up at the sky as he said.

"It doesn't matter. Whether it's us wanting the answers to the mystery that is the various worlds and the reincarnation cycle, wanting to become the Pirate King or avenging our parents, the most important factor is our own personal strength!"

Ori and Shaya looked at Roman in surprise. Roman looked at them confused.

"What, do I have something on my face?!"

Ori shook his head as he said still surprised.

"I just didn't you expect you to say something so wise!"

Roman glared at Ori.

"Cheeky bastard!"

Ori smiled as he said.

"But you're right. Let's just take things one step at a time. The next step for the Heavenly Demon Pirates is to go to Dawn Island and pay those little cousins of ours a little visit!"
