21 Third Type of Magic

Balthazar grabbed a blue stone-like object a size of an apple on his desk. He then handed it on Isabelle.

"Hold this"

Isabelle was a bit hesitant for a moment but she still held on to it.

"What is this?" Isabelle observed the object, what she did not have a clue what it was.

"Really now?, Your grandfather owned the largest mining site of mana stone but you don't know what it looked like?"

"Well, I saw something like this before, But at that time I didn't really know what it is"

"Now you know, Mana stone helps you circulate and enhance mana throughout your body, And it also helps you cast spells 10x easier. Try it for yourself, Use your Ice magic and freeze this apple using that stone without moving away from your location"

'Holy shit this cheat object exists?! and the fact that we have this many things back at home?!' Isabelle tried many things to improve her control over her own elemental magic, But she never knew this kind of method. All she know about mana stone is that mana stones are used power machines that requires a mana as a fuel, But she never knew that mana stone have this kind of use.

With the help of the mana stone, Isabelle confidently cast her elemental ice magic. The mana stone emits a small gleam. Confident that this time her magic will work, Isabelle smirked.

But nothing happened.

Isabelle froze in her embarrassing pose with her eyes and mouth wide open.

Even with a cheat object she still failed to cast a simple spell, Even more she did it confidently in front of Balthazar.

"As I thought, Give up on elemental magic"

"ha ha ha, I completely agree, But I want to know the reason why" Isabelle answered as if her soul already left her body.

"To put it simply, You do not possess an Elemental soul. Without elemental soul you only have a little to no mana at all, So any spells that you cast that uses mana as a fuel will never work."

"ha, ha, ha, ha... So Balthy, why is it that I'm able to use Ice magic if I have no Elemental soul, It doesn't make any sense at all don't you think?"

Balthazar took another stone like object from his desk, This time it was a lot small and a darker color stone a size of a small coin. He handed the stone to Isabelle who was still feeling down.

"Balthy, Is there a point on continuing this?"

"There is, Now do it again."

Without thinking much of it, Isabelle casts her magic again.

Her body suddenly felt strange, A feeling that she had not felt before. As if power was surging on her entire body. The stone gleamed brightly, Then a silver and large bright magic circle appeared on her hand that is pointed at the apple that Balthazar was holding.

An avalanche of Ice that was coming from her palm was going straight at Balthazar.

Not intending to get hit, Balthazar moved to his side dodging the Ice that was coming straight at him.

Boom!

A loud explosion echoed in the room. The room is located at the very corner of the main academic building Althrea so luckily no one else heard it. But the explosion was loud.

The room's temperature quickly lowered because of the Ice that froze almost half of the room.

Isabelle could not process what just happened. Did I do it?, What just happened?, Is it because of this stone? what is this stone anyways?, These are the questions of Isabelle.

Still processing what just happened, Balthazar observed the girl and the aftermath of her destructive magic.

"As I suspected, No wonder it could not appraised you properly " He muttered.

"What was that Balthy?!, What did you suspect?!, What happened?!!"

"You possess a completely different form of magic and soul aside from Elemental and Primal, A magic that do not use mana as a fuel. You and I are the same"

"Is there really such thing?" Isabelle could not believe it. A completely different form of magic that doesn't use mana as a fuel?

"If strong enough, Magic can form into a soul. And there two types of that soul, Elemental and Primal souls. In other words, Two souls therefore two types of magic, Elemental and Primal. But only a few knows about the existence of the third type of magic. Unlike the two other types of magic, This one does not use mana for it only uses the purest form of energy. That stone is an Arcane stone, Even at that size, It still contains more energy than ten of those mana stone before. That stone contained arcane energy, Arcane energy fuels the third type of magic, Arcane magic"

Isabelle was completely shocked after knowing her true power. Arcane magic? why haven't I heard about that before? She still could not believe it, But she saw what happened.
