Bound by blood - Part 1

All of a sudden, Samantha staggered on her feet, and if not for the King holding her in time, she would have collapsed to the floor.

"Samantha," Alastair panicked on seeing the girl's condition and worry marred his charming face. Her face had turned pale while her forehead was covered with beads of sweat. To his surprise, the girl's condition improved as quickly as it had worsened. Samantha took a deep breath before she pushed her to her feet to stabilize herself.

Alastair did not let her go and held her by her waist. "What happened, dear? Are you alright?" He queried, his worry evident in his eyes.

"Yes, Milord." Samantha licked her dry lips. "I am good, Milord. I am good." She tried to assure him. But the King was not convinced.

"Let me take you back to your chamber. The royal physician will take a look at you."
