Chapter 1Arranged wedding

Today was the day she had been both eagerly awaiting and anxiously dreading. Her wedding to Prince Adric, a man she had never met before. It was a union forged in tradition, a bond meant to strengthen the alliance between their kingdoms.

She stood before the full-length mirror, her reflection revealing the intricate layers of her wedding gown. The delicate lace, shimmering silk, and pearls were a testament to the opulence of her station. Yet, as her fingers traced the intricate embroidery, Amelia's heart remained heavy with uncertainty.

"I can't believe this is happening" Amelia whispered which caught Isabella's attention towards her. She was busy with the final touches of Amelia's ensemble.

Isabella offered a reassuring smile. "Princess, you're the most beautiful bride I've ever seen. Prince Adric is a lucky man indeed".

Amelia managed a faint smile, he is but she is not lucky. The chamber door creaked open, revealing her mother Queen Eleanor. She wore a proud smile, yet Amelia could detect a glimmer of concern in her eyes.

"Oh dear, you look fabulous", Queen Eleanor began, her voice gentle, "today you are going to start a new chapter of your life, so welcome it with a smile".

Amelia nodded and tried to smile but how hard she tried she couldn't able to compose a smile on her face. She feels like her nightmare become her reality. She always dreamt of a romantic wedding with the person with whom she would fall in love. But now she is trapped in an arranged marriage with a man she knows nothing about except he is the crown prince of Valeria.

The time came for her to walk down the aisle. As she made her way, her eyes caught sight of a figure standing at the end the Prince Adric. Dressed in resplendent royal attire, he looked every bit the part of a prince. He was so tall and handsome. He was so attractive that Amelia felt he just come out of a fantasy novel.

She couldn't believe that one minute ago she was addressing him as a nightmare but now she was calling him a dream.

She stands facing her soon-to-be husband, she feels both scared and excited. Scared of what was heard of him and excited because his looks were very similar to her ideal type.

The ceremony started, the vows were taken and now the father asked the groom to kiss the bride. Amelia's heart was pounding very fast, nervousness took over her body. She heard of the prince that he was a very cold-hearted and dangerous man. That just made her condition worse.

Adric moves towards her slowly. His every step makes Amelia more nervous. He stops in front of her, close enough to make it hard to breathe. He leans closer to her ear and whispers "May I have permission". 'He is asking for permission' Amelia's mind tries to process his sentence
