Prologue

Atop a building two figures could be seen standing above, one was a man wearing a white shirt while the other was a woman wearing a red shirt.

Blood drip from her mouth as she looks at him in dismay and disbelief.

The man she loves was looking at her gently the way he looks at her before but instead of the warm feeling she used to feel her heart chilled to her bones.

"Why?" The woman in red sadly uttered,

The tears that she was holding in dropped one by one, she look him in the eye as she ask him why he betrayed her.

She stared him in the eye wanting to know the reason for this betrayal.

"Why?" She asked again as she push the man in white, the knife made a "clang" sound as it fell down along with it was the fresh blood falling on the floor coloring the white marble in red.

Like a blossoming flower, it was so beautiful yet fragile as if almost about to wither when touched.

"Xun'er, this is just how it is."

The man smiled at her lovingly yet his eyes were as cold as ice.

He tried to touch her cheeks but she slap it with anger.

"Why?!"

The woman yelled again as she glare at the man that she deeply love, she could not believe it, she could not believe that he will betray her.

The two of them love each other so deeply, so deeply that it hurts thinking about it now.

She does not know why, why it had ended this way.

Just why, why, what happened, what happened to them, and the love that they had shared.

They were supposed to get married next month, everything is already set and she was quite happy, she was really happy that she will get to spend her life with the man in front of her after their wedding.

They made so many promises, so many that thinking about it now it feels like a joke to her.

She was a joke!

She looks at him with bloodshot eyes and laughed out loud.

Looking at the man who was still smiling ever so gently at her, she could not stop her laughter.

This very man who she envisioned her future with was the very person who destroyed all that they have, all that she have!

All of her dreams shattered when he stabbed her.

His eyes look at her coldly as he completed his mission, he was indifferent as if he felt nothing, nothing for her.

"Why, Jun, why? I thought that you love me, you love me right?"

The woman in red cried big droplets of tears fell from her eyes, her heart clenching as she stared at the man in white.

"Yes, Xun'er, I loved you."

The man gently held her cheeks despite her struggle, he looked her gently in the eyes and softly smiled.

But this smile then turned into a mocking smile.

"But that is all in the past now."

Shao Jun chuckled his handsome face twisted and his smiling face got even more twisted it looks as if she was looking at the devil himself seeing him laugh at her.

She could feel the hair on her body standing on end being touched by him with his dirty hands. She tried to struggle with his hold and pushed him away from her.

"Then why, why are you doing this?"

The woman in red thought that maybe this is all just a dream that the man that she loves really love her, if this is a dream she really wants to wake up now.

She could still not believe that the man she promised to be together with in the future could betray her like this or maybe she did but she could still not accept the fact.

"Xun'er, I...."

The man in white hesitated as his face showed hesitancy, he sighed and slowly approached the woman in red again.

He looked at her, his face glum.

Arriving in front of her, his face started to change and he stared at her with utmost intensity that made the woman in red's heart jump.

She hopes that this is all just a dream and that Shao Jun still loves her.

"Xun'er, maybe it's because I hate you. I hate it because you are better than me."

Shao Jun's face which was gentle turned ugly, he was as hideous as his true heart no longer trying to hide who he really was in front of her.

"Goodbye, Xun'er."

With that, he pushes the woman in red off the building with a big relieved smile on his face.

"Let's not meet again in the next life."

The woman in red gasped in surprise, she glared at the man with menace and hatred and yelled his name at the top of her lungs as she falls off the building with a broken heart.

Falling down the building, she could feel the cold wind slicing her skin and the fact of impending doom that is awaiting her the moment she landed.

If this was the normal times, she could have still saved herself but the man was cruel enough to stab her with a knife laced with paralysis poison so she could only wait for her death awake but can't do anything.

Now she finally knew that this is not a dream, she was awakened to the fact that the man she loves truly hate her to his core.

Her heart broke knowing this fact, she spat out blood as she accepted the reality that he hates her and maybe this is the end.

The woman in red closed her eyes, as tears fell down her beautiful face like rain as she vowed in her heart.

'If there is another lifetime, I vow that I will never yet again love foolishly only to be hurt in the end.'

And with that last thought, the woman in red could feel her body heavily landing on the ground as the awaited the Zergs to rip her body bit by bit.

Before she fainted, she swore that she heard the man that she love utter her name in disgust and happiness.

"Goodbye, Qi Xunmei."
