Chapter 4: Fenrir’s first monster
Now that he knew the campsite was empty Fenrir decided to follow the trail that the tracks follow down hoping even though animals use it it was a man made trail. Fenrir checked the tracks on the ground and was confused. "What type of animals makes these tracks I've never seen them before?" He didn't think too deeply about it as he had never seen many types of animal tracks before so he started to follow the trail. After several minutes of walking he decided to take a short break.
Fenrir sat down and was about to have a short rest when his stomache growled. "Huh. I must have been unconscious for a while. I feel starving." he said "Oh. There was some food in my bag. I wonder what's inside?" He opened his bag and poured the contents out. "That's quite a lot. However was using this back must have been on a long camp. It is all snacks though." After sorting through it he counted 5 packets of dried meat, 2 packets of assorted nuts, 4 small packets of chips, 1 packet of dried fruit and 5 bottles of still water.
*Crack*
"Who's there?" He asked. Nothing answered him so he looked around as he had clearly heard a stick snap. He thought maybe one of the animals had returned. He quickly packed all the snacks back into his bag as he was sure that was the reason the animal had found him, picked his fighting cane up and stood. He decided to carry on walking down the down the path. *Crack* He quickly turned to his left as that's where the sound came from. "What!" He gasped "No lizard is that big." He quickly jumped back and held his stick in front of him (not because he was scared but because he was surprised). Walking towards him was a meter long lizard that looked like it had no scales. He immediately considered his options (which to be honest was only run or fight). He decided to run as he didn't think he stood a chance against it. He turned around and ran but after just three steps he felt a searing pain in his right leg. "Ooowwww!" He screamed and looked down and saw blood running down his leg.
*Ding* "System Activated. Pain effect activated. 3 damage received. 7/10 HP remaining. Check stats for more detail."
